Fetch! Pet Care of West Seattle

Long story short, I had an emergency and Deva saved the day. I was about to leave the country for two weeks so I dropped off the dogs at their doggie ranch in Snohomish (day of the rock’n roll marathon, 3 hour round-​trip, thankyouverymuch). After the dropoff I noticed that I didn’t have a recent poop test for one of our dogs so I needed to get them out the ranch, get the test done and send them back. Basically, in the 2 hours before I left I coordinated with Deva and the fabulous Doggone Taxi service to (1) pick them up from the ranch, (2) take them home, (3) Deva to feed and take them on walks (4) Deva to take poop sample to vet, (5) Deva to coordinate with the taxi service to take the pups back to the ranch.
Deva just took care of business in an extremely professional and efficient way! We communicated often while I was in Scotland, to make sure all was well. She is very flexible, and her customer service skills are phenomenal. Not to mention caring with the furry ones. Highly recommended.

What a great service! I had to go out of town for a week and hired these guys to walk my young Collie. He has a tendency, when left alone for too long, to get bored and chew the walls. Deva walked him several times and behold! No chewing! He was relaxed and happy when I got home. I will definitely use this service again. Thanks guys!

Love these guys! My fiancé recently changed jobs. For the first two weeks our schedules overlap, leaving our dogs home alone and crated for about 11 hours. Not only is this really sucky for them, but one of them is only 12 weeks old, which means coming home to a sea of poop and pee and a puppy that needs a bath.
We decided that we needed someone to come over mid day for a potty/​play break and to feed the puppy lunch. Normally we’d ask a friend, but everyone in the area is at work too. We resigned ourselves to a dog walker and immediately thought of Fetch. We’ve met Hunter and Deva several times, and knew we could trust them to care for our kids. We have multiple bully breeds and also multiple deaf dogs, so knew we’d need a special sitter.
We emailed Deva Monday night. She and Mikki (who would be our sitter), came over Tuesday night, and we had our first visit Wednesday.
By Wednesday night we’d received our invoice for all of the currently planned visits, a Facebook friend request from Mikki, and a text message report of the visit.
When we got home the puppy had peed in his crate (he’s just a baby, it happens) but we were saved from the sea we had come home to the day before. The dogs were of course riled up, but so much less than they had been without the mid-​day break. Mikki had also picked up and swept the whole dog room!
Our budget is super super tight right now, and while our dogs need this, I was admitedly super skeptical about whether or not it’d be worthwhile. I’m psyched we went ahead. Deva and Mikki have made it easy, and I know my dogs will be taken care of. If I ever need a sitter for a trip or while in a pinch, I would call them again in a second.

Deva and Hunter are a great team. They whole-​heartedly care for your pets and see to it that they’re cared for properly and in a timely fashion. It’s exciting to run into them at a shop in West Seattle because they seem to know nearly everyone who passes by!
I would recommend them for any service you need and plan on using them again in the future.

Caution; this is longwinded, but I know how important pets are to many people, so I think it all needs to be told.
We had the unfortunate experience of needing to find overnight care for our pets on rather short notice recently. I did a lot of calling and emailing around and finally found someone who was available at Fetch. Deva (one of the owners) stated that she would come by for an initial consult and we asked if the petsitter who would be staying with us could come along as well since one of our dogs has pretty severe social anxiety. Deva showed up on time but the petsitter was about 20 minutes late and didn’t seem too thrilled about being there.
We have 2 dogs and 2 cats so I had quite a bit of information that I wanted to impart. I had printed out a list of instructions regarding feeding, walks, discipline, etc. Neither women though wanted to hear much about it and seemed almost annoyed by the need to be there. In fact, the only question the petsitter asked us was how to use our tv!
(I do want to say here that not only have I used other petsitter and dog walkers before with much success but also work part time as one myself. I know how a good consult should go, how important it is to the owner to feel at ease, and also how damn easy it is to just show some interest and enthusiasm for people’s pets!!)
Needless to say, I had a bad feeling from the get go and wanted to find someone else but that just wasn’t possible. Lucky we had commissioned my mom and our neighbors to keep an eye out for them and take over some of the care, so that eased a bit of our anxiety.
My first major complaint was that we never received a bill or confirmation that the visits we requested were even going to happen. I emailed Deva asking for this, but didn’t get a reply until the evening that our vacation had started (too late, we were already nervous wrecks at that point!). I left a note for the petsitter to please text or call to let us know that all the visits were ok and that she had been there, but she did not even do that until the next day when I asked, yet again!
As if that wasn’t bad enough, we came home after our trip to a disgusting mess! There was dog hair everywhere and litter all over the floor, the house stunk like it had not been aired out at all, there were dirty dishes on the counter, and an overnight bag was still there! The most disturbing part of the mess though was that all 4 water bowls were almost empty except for a small layer of very dirty water!
After spending over 2 hours (immediately after an early morning flight!) cleaning our house we finally tried to get to the bottom of what happened. The petsitter texted saying that she was «sorry if she left things out of place» out of place!!! how about a smelly disgusting mess! I did talk to Deva who apologized for the mess but did not do much to ease any of my concerns. I was very concerned at this point that many of the visits had not even happened and our dogs had been locked in their kennels for hours without food, water, or exercise. She said that she would «apply a discount» and stated a few half hearted excuses, but I left the conversation very unsatisfied and it was never clarified if all the visits even occurred!
After talking to our neighbors we found out even more upsetting news. Apparently they had came home multiple times to the dogs running around in the yard with their leashes on. This explained the leashes which were left caked in mud and with a completely ruined (and empty!) poop bag attached. Other neighbors also shared that they saw her stop by quickly, but did not witness any walks (which were specifically requested and separate from the overnight stays).
To the petsitter’s credit, she did apologize (much more than Deva did) and droped flowers by on our doorstep when she left the key. Not much can make up for the fact that we did not feel our kids were any where near adequately taken care of though.
Deva emailed me a week later stating that there would be no charge for the services. I thanked her, but stated that our main concern was the lack of adequate care, not the fee. I asked her to please reassure me that this would not happen again to anyone else’s pets, so that I could have peace of mind and not have to write a bad review. I have not heard back from her. I still have faith that this was an isolated bad experience because I see other great reviews, but I need reassurance that it will not happen again. I trusted the good reviews when choosing them and I would hope that anyone with this bad of an experience would share so all the information is presented.
My conclusion; there are way too many great petsitting services in this area to waste time and heartache on one that leaves you feeling anxious and dreadfull about the services while on vacation… then fulfills all the dread plus much more when you return home. My pets are very important to me and I feel terribly that I allowed this to happen.

My boxer puppy Bailey and I love Fetch! His sitter Deva is quite possibly one of the greatest people we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I originally sent him to Fetch to help him socialize with other dogs while he’s learning his way in the world, but thanks to Deva we have already gained so much more than that. Although still a clumsy puppy and at times less well behaved then I would like… he’s gained manners and a love for everyone around him. He’s become one of my best friends and I don’t hesitate one bit to give a large amount of that credit to Deva at Fetch! Pet care. She has truly managed to become a part of our family and I couldn’t be happier with the wonderful service she has always provided.

I have to give Deva of Fetch! West Seattle 5 stars. I was traumatized about leaving my 1 year old puppy for the first time, and for an entire week at that, but Deva made the whole experience very positive. I was looking for a very nice home environment for my little guy as he can’t handle being caged or crated, and that’s exactly what I got. They’ve got a 2 dogs of their own, and huge fenced in yard, and a nice set up for kennel-​free dog boarding (but they’ll crate your dog if that’s what you prefer). They’ll treat your pet as part of the family. Plus, Deva has a ton of experience with animals. She even sent me an email update, which was much appreciated and further put me at ease. Most importantly, my puppy was delivered to my door in one piece and very happy. I have to thank them for making this experience as painless as possible. I’m very impressed, and would recommend Fetch! West Seattle to anyone that’s looking for an alternative to the big dog daycares and kennels.

Great service! Deva truly has a deep love for animals and it shows in how she has cared for mine. Our cats love her! Also– her newsletters are really fun and informative. Great experience all around. She will be the first person we go to when we have any pet-​sitting needs!
