First American Title Insurance Company

I’ve owned many homes over the course of my life, and this takes the cake. My wife and I had everything lined up to do a double close (sell one home, and move into a new home) on one day. Ten days before closing, when everything needed to be cleared for the double close, the office secretary who fills out the paperwork left the office, leaving the office manager left. Our window was going to close that day, and the manager could not complete the paperwork needed to ensure we could do the double close came crashing down, as the office manager did not know how to do his secretary’s job – he did not know how to complete the paperwork! That cost us thousands of dollars, and several days in a hotel! I am appalled that in this day and age, a manger does not know how to do the work off the people he has to evaluate. That was the office manager’s (Senior Escrow Manager) excuse – he did’t know how to do the work of his underling. It cost us thousands of dollars, unimaginable stress, a double move (we had to arrange two moves, not one), and we could never get straight answers from these people. There are plenty of good title /​escrow firms out there. Do not use this one! You will pay, handsomely. They don’t care! Please, read all of the one-​star reviews and go with the feeling!

This is the worst title company I have worked with in the last 34 years. Do not use them. They were confrontational, unhelpful and officious. If you have to use First American, use the Bellevue office!

Title company advised me to call on a Friday– I called and the agent was out. She mentioned on her voicemail to call someone else, I did, he was out. THAT person mentioned a THIRD agent to call– called that agent– out as well. Trying to contact that company is like trying to hold water in your hands. I recommend not using them if at all possible.

This review is for the First American location on Eastlake, which does not show on Unilocal.We recently purchased our home and used this company for escrow. Michelle was very accommodating to any questions we had along the way and our signing went smoothly. We appreciate all she did for us!

WOW! Funny what a day makes! Apparently, out loan officer decided to NOT submit a very important addendum because SHE didnt agree with it. That’s illegal. I’ll never use them again and cant wait to see karma bite that lady in the butt!
