Fix Auto Seattle Metro

This review is purely for my initial interaction with them:
I called to see when they could fit me in to fix a palm-​sized dent and less-​than-​1-​inch paint gash in my car.
Me: Hey, [briefly explains situation and damage]. When is the earliest availability you have to have something like that fixed?
Person on the phone: March.
Me: Is there any way you could do something sooner, since it’s such a small job?
Person on phone: Absolutely not.
Me: Okay, well thanks for your help! Have a great day.
Person on phone: *click, hangs up*
No «Bye». No «Sorry we can’t help any sooner». Not even a «call us back if you’d like to get something scheduled!»
This was just rudeness in response to my friendly tone and reasonable questions.
Pro-​tip: don’t be rude to your customers, especially not ones with no history of being rude to you.
Ok cool, I’ll take my money and business elsewhere.

My car had a dead battery and I was near their shop and walked into the office and was greeted by three friendly women. I explained the issue and within seconds Tracey jumped up and offered to help! She walked to my car and had a mobile battery charger and gave me a jump! So kind and friendly. Will definitely return for future business! Thank you!

I had a very negative experience with Fix Auto. After being in an accident, I took it to Fix for an estimate as they were recommended by the insurance company of the driver who was at fault. They prepared and estimate, but while doing so tried to tell me that legally the car wasn’t drive-​able so I would have to leave it there (despite driving it to the shop). While preparing the estimate, they informed me that the earliest they could schedule me to complete the work was three weeks later. I scheduled the appointment just so I could get the car fixed.
After the nearly three weeks goes by, I got a call the day before I my scheduled appointment. They NEVER ORDERED THE PARTS. So now the earliest they could fit me in was 2 weeks later. I cancelled the service and found another shop that was able to take me the next day, and completed the work in less than one week. If only I was able to find them first so that Fix Auto wouldn’t have wasted so much of my time.

Super pleased… just moved to the city and still getting used to parking in tight places. Had two self-​inflicted scrapes on my new car and wanted to get them FIXed. Made an appointment for estimate available next day; got served exactly at my appointment time. Walked around my car showing the spots and I was told to wait there a moment… estimator came back with a magic solution (acetone) that wiped my issues away. Wouldn’t accept payment — but I can assure you that I’ll be sending all my friends and family there for actual damage repair. However, I bet they’ll understand that I hope I don’t personally have to visit them for a while ;-)

I know it’s late, but I just stumbled across a picture of my car after having work done there. Last year I had a small dent repaired on my rear door. They must have done the body work with the f-​ing windows open because look how they returned my car to me. See above picture. After they paid to have a professional detailing but come man, piss poor.

Happy I found these guys. My car got keyed over the weekend, and Safeco Insurance recommended this auto body shop in my neighborhood. Good first impressions.
In order to file an insurance claim for the damage, I needed to file a police report first. But in order to file that police report, I needed a repair estimate from an auto body shop. So:
I first went to the service center of my car dealership (where I get all my other regular car services done) and got an estimate from them. After calling my insurance company, however, I was told I needed to get an estimate from one of their «approved» auto body shops — and they sent me to Fix Auto.
They were booked the rest of that afternoon, so I had to book a next day appointment for them to estimate the work. In any case, I came on time and was immediately greeted. Even though it looked like they were pretty busy, Brandy (who helped get me an estimate) was nice and efficient. She answered all my questions, walked me through everything, and I was on my way in less than 15mins. Scheduled an appointment to drop off the car (3 business days later) and got my detailed estimate a couple hours later via email.
Though it didn’t really make a difference for me (because my insurance deductible is less than either estimate), I’m glad I got a second estimate. Fix Auto’s estimate was almost 40% lower than the dealership service center I went to first. (Something nice to know in the future if I ever think about paying out of pocket for something car-​related.)
Also super convenient they work directly with Safeco Insurance (and probably a number of other insurance companies). Started the claims process over the phone with Safeco and Fix Auto had all my info handy when I got there (and will coordinate directly with Safeco to get me a rental car, etc.). Extra credit points for convenience.
Car is going into the shop next week. You can assume if I don’t update this review, that their repair work (fixing the key marks on my car) was done well. I think it’ll be good.

I had my front bumper replaced, after it was smashed while parked on the street. I worked with Greg who was very competent and upfront. They put everything in writing. Explained how the insurance company works along with the time frame. Excellent communication. They completed my car on time and even double checked when I asked about it.
I did experience some «family dynamics» while waiting to check out, but it didn’t phase me and 3 years later, my bumper looks great!
Some of the negative reviews may be due to the fact that insurance companies can be cheap and make quotes based on bad parts. Fix Auto told me that basically whenever they deal with certain insurance co’s they see the claim will be shorted by the insurer every time.

I had some minor marks on the side of the car and tried to remove them. No luck. Brought it here thinking it would be a pain. The technician removed the marks in a few seconds out front for free with a solution. I’ll take the car here when I really need body work.

These guys are great. Always take good care of me. This is the second time I’ve had them repair my truck and they’ve always gone the extra mile to make me happy.

While parked, in my car, doing my makeup, with my air conditioning and seat-​belt on… A truck, insured by USAA insurance hit my car. The USAA liability agent requested that I take my car to Fix Auto for a repair estimate. Damages to my car included a dented trunk, scrapes on the bumper, and a exploded seat belt. Unfortunately, Fix Auto claimed that it was a mere coincident that my seat belt stopped clicking into the socket, on the same exact day that my car was hit. As such, Fix Auto required that I take my car to my Honda dealership for a 2^nd evaluation, since «normal wear and tear» of the seat belt, is covered under my car warranty.
After one look at the seat belt, in it’s extended state, my Honda guys were adamant that the damage occurred during the accident. Now, I’m not sure what Fix Auto has to gain by not including the seat belt in the damage report (??) but when I took my car to Foreign Auto Rebuild for a second estimate. They not only agreed that the seat belt was a part of the accident damage but they also told me that the estimate for my repairs was inadequate and that a proper repair would require more than double the amount of work listed on my original repair estimate from Fix Auto.
So, why three stars? The people who work here are nice enough and I have no firm proof or reason to believe they were purposely shady. At the same time, I will never have my car repaired here because I did not find comfort in their estimate for my car damage.

Staggering incompetence, deepest apathy, flagrant disinterest, outright laziness. These are just some of the words I could use to describe my experience with this «business.» It appears this establishment operates in its own economic realm, quite different from the ones mankind has already experienced. New business is generally not attended to; the demeanor of the employees bears an impression that any new or potential revenue is superfluous to their operations. In all honesty, I am not at all certain if the people residing there during business hours are actual employees or merely transients looking for a place to repose. The work itself is left to deities and magic elves to perform. Given that god is dead, elves but a figment of medieval imagination, and prayer worthless, nothing gets done. Things simply settle to a lower energy state as entropy marches on.
I had my car there for 2 weeks. The body shop had a blank check to do whatever necessary to fix my car. During that time I had to make frequent inquiries as no one had bothered to call back. At one point I was told that the parts I had allegedly needed were not anymore or not yet available in this universe. Strangely enough, through the amazing technology of google search, I was able to span spacetime and locate those very same parts. Not a task of inordinate difficulty or insidious complexity since they appeared as the very first search results. Yes, incredible. Throughout this time my car remained untouched, no lowly mechanic had his hands soiled and his bread earned by actual work on my automobile. Nothing was done. Unless I count discharging the car’s battery as work.
After this delightful experience I took my car to Mr. Tony Okuma, the owner of 7^th avenue Auto Rebuild. Not only was he knowledgeable and forthcoming, but he fixed my car in less than a week and 25% under the estimate provided by the idiots mentioned above. Of course, he had no problems obtaining the correct parts. The 7^th avenue Auto Rebuild guys did an excellent job, worthy of the highest praise.
In summary, the sooner places like Fix Auto Seattle Metro leave this worldly sphere and become but a Chapter 11 statistic the better. I suggest you drive your car off a cliff before even starting to contemplate dealing with this shop. In the absence of a suitable cliff, torching your car and collecting the insurance will also preserve and maintain your good mental health.

I wanted to support a neighborhood business, but ended up really disappointed with their customer service. I had a fairly minor dent in my bumper and stopped by just after they opened at 8am for an estimate on a fix. First the woman asked if I was making an insurance claim. I said no and that I’d pay cash, and she said «Well, we only do those estimates by appointment. You’ll have to come back another day.»
Why so focused on insurance? Luckily there’s other places that aren’t bothered if you make an effort to stop by their business…

Like many others, we came here on an Insurance claim that involved replacing the roof, rear top bumper and the entire back panel plus windshield. There was also a separate repair involving our bumper. There were many administrative headaches, like our Canadian insurance, and the fact that the car was a lease.
A few things Fix Auto does better than any shop:
Communication — they managed to e-​mail, call everyone involved, and keep us updated on the repair status and necessary paperwork. We had the misfortune of being out of the city and also confused the staff with Canadian insurance documents, but they ended up sorting it out behind the scenes, with minimal involvement from us.
Service — The repairs were detail-​oriented and completed with urgency. With quality comes a premium. If you weren’t coming here for insurance, the cost is at least 150% more than your average shop. Despite that, they are still incredibly busy, so be sure to call ahead for an average job.
As an added bonus, our entire car was detailed… for both repairs. The car was better than new, to the point that when we returned the lease, they immediately questioned how great it looked. THAT, is a sign of quality.

After an accident, my insurance referred me to Fix Auto Metro. They did a GREAT job on my car and it looks wonderful and drives great again! Their customer service was fantastic. Britnay is a real professional. She emailed me every 3 days or so and let me know where my car was at in the process and kept me updated on the target date it was to be done. When they ended up not being able to get the final part on the day it was needed, Britnay let me know right away. I was to pick up the car the next morning, but it turned out not to be ready until afternoon. I couldn’t get away from work in the afternoon and asked it they do drop-​off service. They normally don’t, but Britnay brought me car to me anyway. Thank you Fix Auto Metro! If I have a need in the future, this is definitely where I’ll go again!

My car was totaled in a accident this month and my insurance suggested I take it to Fix Auto aka Halvick’s Auto and Glass. They towed my car from tow-​yard to their facility really quickly and were able to assess the damages all within 24hrs. Tim (I think that’s his name) called and gave me the estimate and rundown of what to expect hear from the insurance company. It was basically totaled and I had to go collect the rest of my valuables the next day. The guys there are really friendly and helped me remove my stuff into my rental car. They even took the time to tell me what would’ve all been involved to fix my car if I had decided to keep the car as salvage and it ended up not worth it. I would definitely bring my new car here for service if I need it. Thanks guys!

I highly recommend FASM. I called in one morning and was scheduled for an afternoon appointment, where Greg did the estimates and set up an appointment for repair. I dropped off my car on a Monday, picked it up on a Friday, as promised, and the work was beautifully done.
Greg was very easy to deal with, and made sure that I was satisfied with the work. The other people in the office, and, the mechanic, were friendly as well. Excellent customer service from start to finish.

Great neighborhood service! I was in a pinch, my sun-​roof stuck open. One of their mechanics was able to remedy and get me one my way before the rain. Good peop’s over there. Want to return the favor of their good business practice by letting you all know about them.

As other readers here, I was referred to Havlick’s by my insurance company. As a car owner who lives on Capital Hill, you take certain risks parking on the street. My car was backed into by an SUV with a tire mounted on the back which caused a big divet in my hood.
The service was great and a lot faster than I was expecting. I was expecting a four day repair, but it turned out to only take two days.
The claims process was quick and painless and their work is guaranteed for the life of the vehicle.
I would definitely go back in case some other wacky driver decides to back into me again

The work they do is very good, but they didn’t do a lot of it for me. I asked for a quote for a new hood and work on my front quarter panel. I received a bid that I thought would be acceptable, and a month or so later I brought the car in for work. I picked the car up, and the quarter panel was not repaired at all– BUT they painted the crumpled metal and restriped it. What. The. Fuck.
I asked the man who gave me the estimate why on earth someone would have a crunched up car restriped, and he said, «You’d be surprised what people ask for!» I told him that I’d be more than surprised if someone asked for this, I’d be fucking stunned.
I didn’t have the old estimate paper, so I was told that they’d agree to fix the work they didn’t do for a mere $ 500 in addition to the money I had already spent. I couldn’t pay that, so I left with my fucked up repair job. I had used them in the past before this, but I won’t be back. I even reported them to my insurance company, who had originally introduced me to them. Bye bye Havlick’s.
