Although they have a friendly staff, Ricky and April Ellington are not honest people, and I urge anyone who reads this find another shop for souvenirs. I purchased two Hellenite rings from them, and both lost the center stones(one after just a day). I tried working with Ricky and April to get the first ring replaced, but after several weeks without an email response or a returned phone call, I simply gave up and moved on. I asked a friend to try and fix the second ring; he is an independent jeweler in Long Island, NY. He informed me that the stone had been held in with glue, and that it was only a matter of time before it fell out. Find a different shop to purchase your jewelry from: there’s a nice one in the lobby of the Westin. You will pay more there, however.

I stopped in this gift shop while playing tourist one weekend. The cashier was extremely friendly and helpful. Some jewelry I was checking out was buy 1 get 1 half off and when I only wanted to buy one item she gave me 25% off my item which was pretty cool. They have some cool things, some tacky, some interesting. I would say it is worth a look if you are in the area. I really love the ring I bought!

This is a decent sized souvenir sh\op located just inside the 5th Avenue entrance to the Seattle Center. They have a selection of cheap jewelry, which is ironically overpriced, but what can you expect for the Seattle Center. If you want a silver ring for a friend or your self you can get almost any size here. Some of the jewelry is finer than the others, just ask the sales person for the type of gem you want. They know their jewelry.
They sell scrimshaw art work and it is amazing. Catherine Young is the artist and she creates custom pieces as well as her own designs. This shop has the best scrimshaw collection I have seen in the Seattle region. They use only fossilized walrus and mammoth ivory, never the fresh and illegal stuff. They offer beautiful large display pieces as well as smaller necklace pendants and even earrings. Very unique. The have a lot of work from local artists– great deals on Native American wood carvings! Awesome totems and wall hangings too. The owner is nice and the manager woman with the cool glasses is hilarious. She is a very friendly and dangerously convincing sales woman that makes you want everything she shows you. The staff’s knowledge of the city, sights, tours and food is another huge bonus. This shop carries the cult collectible known as «Wee Forest Folk», and they have a large selection of them in the back. Very cute but pricey — if you are not a collector you might faint upon hearing the cost of the small anthropomorphic mice and rabbits. They have fair deals on «Seattle» and«Washington» t shirts and key chains, mugs, posters, maps and all the souvenir stuff. Not the best prices, but very comparable to any other tourist shop in a busy location. They also quite randomly sell things for the dungeons and dragons/magic card crowd: resin and metal dragon models, fairy and Amy Brown artwork, wizards, cheesy light up merlin figurines and the typical made-in-China lead filled«fantasy» gifts. They have t-shirts and hoodies with quirky smart aleck slogans and umbrellas if it starts raining. They even give you a free umbrella(ask for it) if you spend over 30 bucks! If you live in Seattle, most likely you would pass this up unless you need some scrimshaw or Wee Forest Folk, but if you are a tourist I highly recommend this shop– if not for the shopping for the fun of talking to the Manager«Sam” — she is the best!
