Greater Seattle Hockey League

I’ve waited a few years to write this review but the time has come. I have found over the years and this year specifically the divisions are not balanced whatsoever. Also, ANDY COLE does not hold hard and fast to his grail of restricted players for particular divisions. The fees consistently seem to go up year after year and I can tell you it’s not the ice rinks raising the fees.
$ 1200 for the Spring Tournament? This is highway robbery. Assuming a team of 12 that is $ 100 a player. Needless to say, I’ll think twice before playing in this league again and I suggest you do the same.

The GHSL is the largest adult recreational hockey league in the northwest.
They boast 8 levels of play to new to hockey to semi-​pro. So there is a level for everyone. One of the best features of this group is the evaluation prior to being placed in a level. This tries to keep a lot of the ringers out of levels they should not be in and keeps it safer for players trying to learn. This isn’t always the case but they do better than most organizations.
The people running it are nice, a bit unresponsive to emails and calls and at times are poorly organized. The officials tend to be a roll-​of-​the-​dice, meaning you can get a power hungry ref who wants to control the entire game, or a ref that doesn’t watch the game or call anything, or great officials that try to call a fair game.
However, the people participating are truly a great group of people. The onlookers and players are really a great group to hang out with on and off the ice. In general, a good group of people to smack the puck around with.
