We worked with Hammer and Hand on a complex remodel that turned an old gas station in the Hillman City neighborhood of Seattle into a hip new restaurant space for Big Chickie. Throughout the project we met weekly with the entire team to work through all the challenges that re-​purposing an old building presents.
Six months later, after daily restaurant operations, their craftsmanship continues to shine through. We regularly hear from our customers how impressed they are with the wood work.
If they can do this with an old gas station, think what they could do with your home!

I called this place yesterday and am less than impressed. Maybe it was just the woman I was talking to. I don’t know. She sounded terrible and I ended the phone call because I was so offended. I just bought a home that was completely remodeled from the ground up and there is a mother-​in-​law in the back that is wired for electricity, connected for sewer and has a fireplace. Unfortunately, it needs to be completely redone. I explained that I started a small 501©(3) non-​profit and that I would like to transform the mother-​in-​law into emergency/​temp housing for single parents. I also explained that I was interested in the tiny-​eco house movement and that the house had been sitting for several years and at one point was a squatters paradise, apparently. She made this horrible throaty scoffing noise and asked, «Um, is this in Lynnwood?» I told her no it wasn’t that it was in Seattle. She then asked for the address and made some more terrible breathy noises. She then proceeded to tell me that this company only handles large projects and in «certain» areas as if I’m some scumbag because I bought a house in White Center. Honestly? I hope you will think about doing something good with your profits.

Incredibly unprofessional, don’t waste your time like I did!
I was stood up twice by their project manager after setting up initial appointments to start planning our full condo remodel. Now he seems to have dropped off the face of the planet because he hasn’t returned my calls to attempt yet another reschedule.
Normally, I would imagine that a company would try to make up for mistakes like this but I have contacted their main office with no response as well.
I love the work from their online portfolio and they seem innovative but after this disrespect of my time, I will be using another contractor.
