I would rate this as a zero if we could. Paid forty dive dollars for delivery and it looked like it had been pulled out of the garbage. The honey wallet shrimp had two walnuts and looked floppier than a ninety year old’s sex life. The hot and sour soup was burnt. How do you even burn soup? The egg fu yung looked like a cross between roadkill and frozen pancakes. Avoid at all costs it is not worth it. Oh yeah. And when I called to complain the person on the phone tried to haggle the price of returning the food.

I love these guys and order from them at least once a month, so I thought I would update my review. Mainly it is because I have seen some bad reviews on them but have never had any of the experiences the one star reviewers described. If you look through the reviews most of your 3 star reviews still say it hit the spot. It is Chinese takeout not Michelin star dining. It is exactly what it is supposed to be. And I have always had good food and fast delivery from them. Best bets are Pork Fried Rice, General Tsao’s Chicken, Egg Fu Young(the only place I have seen that does it and VERY good!), and Cashew Chicken.

I love Happy Garden! I have NEVER been disappointed! My favorite dishes from here are: King Pao Chicken, General Tsos, Sweet & Sour Pork or Chicken and Special Chow Mein. Their BBQ pork is also good. It’s my favorite place to order from when I’m at work. The one con I have is in regard to the beef. I’m not a fan of it, it’s a little off.

I ordered the beef with mixed vegetable and BBQ pork. The delivery man was very fast and food was warm but far from anything I would have wanted to eat. First off, the pork did not come with anything, it was just plain(dry) pork. The vegetables were pretty good but there wasn’t a uniform taste between them all, some cooked more than others. Finally the beef was disgusting. It was soggy and some pieces were really salty. I don’t know if there’s a new cook or something but I will never eat there again.

Ordering online was easy. However my delivery was late and when the delivery person got to my job, he calls my phone and rudely says«come get your food». Then, I get downstairs and I’m signing for my food and he says«how much are you going to tip me?» I didn’t have any cash and thought I could tip him on the receipt but couldn’t. After his question a tip was just out of the question. I get back to my office and open my food. In my almond chicken, there was still BLOOD on the piece of chicken and the gravy was cold. The rice was ok but overall I will never order from here again. I am highly disappointed!

I am never ever stepping in there. Dirty place with extremely RUDE management. When I politely complained about the stale chicken I was served, the server basically just asked me to pay and f**k off.

I am not very picky about Chinese food so I am sad giving this a bad review. I got Chicken with Broccoli over fried rice. Chicken had a stale taste. Also fried rice was too salty. Broccoli was the best part. May be another dish is better…

Ordered from Eat 24, first and last time ordering. I really wanted to give more stars because the chicken chow mein was acceptable. But the Sweet and Sour chicken was so awfully disappointing. Why? Because they PUTTHECHICKENINTHESAUCEBEFOREDELIVERINGIT. I put that in all caps because it was very disappointing to have completely soaked and soggy chicken when I paid $ 10 for it. No thanks. This is the first time I’ve had Chinese food that they did that, it usually comes in a separate container because the chicken is supposed to be crisp and yummy, and their listing for the food on the menu says nothing about that, otherwise I would have asked to have it separated.

The food was mediocre at best, I was at work, I don’t get breaks and was starving. Found them on grubhub and made an order. I got Almond Fried Chicken that was large chunks of grisly chicken with too much batter on it and absolutely drenched in the sauce, I also got what was suppose to be Chicken Fried Rice and what came was chicken in cooked rice with green onions. No fry to the rice at all. They gave 2 packets of soy sauce and a fortune cookie. No utensils, no napkins or anything. Luckily we had some forks at work or I wouldn’t have eaten or used my fingers. I was severely underwhelmed and will not order again!

decent chinese food for when you just don’t feel like cooking or have an itch for greasy chinese. I ordered the honey sesame chicken, rice, and egg rolls. the food arrived piping hot and the delivery man was nice. the chicken was cooked well and I liked that the honey sauce wasn’t too thick/syrupy/sweet. the rice was meh but most rice usually is. the egg rolls were crisp and tasty. they had black pepper in them, which I love in my egg rolls.

Great Food! Friendly service! Fast delivery! I’ve never stepped foot in the restaurant itself but have been ordering delivery about twice a week for the last two years. In all that time, the food has been consistently delicious, and delivered promptly by personable individuals who actually remember my name and greet me by such.

Probably the best pork fried rice I’ve ever had. I’ve had Chinese food from all over Florida where I’m from but I wasn’t expecting this place to be so good.

2.5 stars I ordered delivery last weekend. Delivery was fast, and the driver was professional. I ordered the BBQ Pork Fried Rice and Almond Chicken. I am a huge fan of both of these items from other places, but was somewhat disappointed in this instance. The BBQ Pork Fried Rice was a generous portion, but was very bland. They didn’t include any seasoning other than one soy sauce packet which didn’t help. The Almond Chicken portion on the other hand was kind of small and already had the sauce on the chicken. The sauce was way too salty. I was very hungry but couldn’t eat it because of the amount of salt. Usually they will give you the sauce separately which would’ve helped tremendously. Overall the price wasn’t worth the quality, however I will give them one more chance in the future most likely.

Cons: Wonton dumplings in soup chewy and either not fresh or processed tasting, Mongolian Beef was TOOSALTY, like way, price was unreasonable for such disappointing food $ 13 for a lunch plate + wonton soup Pros: Location, there aren’t any other seemingly cheap Chinese places around this part of Downtown Overall: Had it been $ 5 after tax, it would probably have been expected, but for $ 13? I demand that they give me something that is not too salty. That is an easy one to avoid. It was the most problematic Chinese meal I’ve had in something like 7 years. I usually have a soft spot for greasy spoon Chinese joints, but this place is like a motor oil on a plastic spoon establishment.

I looked them up on Unilocal to find a place that could deliver me some food. I ordered without checking a menu so I hot something typical, orange chicken and some pot stickers. The delivery was actually very fast for being a Saturday evening and my food was nice and hot. I give this place. A solid three stars for the simple fact of how smooth the entire process played out.

I filed a report with the health dept, the inspector stated that they did an investigation and that the larvae was probaly from the broccoli. I personally do not care where it was from, worms are worms in my book

We order for delivery fairly often. The food is always very hot and very delicious. The man who always answers the phone is very sweet and efficient. My only complaint is the egg roll situation. They aren’t the best and are more often then not just crappy spring rolls. Can’t go wrong with special fried rice and prawn egg foo young though! Awesome American Chinese food.

If you have any standards on what to expect from food, DONOTEATHERE. Due to a random craving for any chinese food, including bad and/or americanized food, we decided to stop here. Calling this food bad would be a compliment. There’s no way to leave zero stars. The honey sesame chicken? It’s not made with honey, it’s made with sugar, water and probably corn starch. Not to mention is bland. So imagine a plate of pale looking fried chicken soaking in sugar water, over a plate of white rice. I’m sure prison food is more appetizing. I basically poured hot sauce and soy sauce to make it stomach-able but came out of the restaurant, disappointed, frustrated and angry at myself for being duped into paying and eating the worst food of my life. My buddy actually threw away his untouched order of chow mein.

This was a pleasant surprise from Pioneer Square for lunch. Forget the outside and walk inside. It’s rather decent and presentable, dude! The Chinese staff were chatting, hanging around. I was promptly handed a lunch specials menu from a gentleman — you have that and the menu on the wall. I decided to try the Sesame Honey Chicken with a choice of fried, white or brown rice. When it was ready, the kind grandma-like lady up front opened and showed me my meal in the to-go container — sort of like how they used to do(or still do?) in food/kitchen informercials. Back in my box of the urban jungle, I can say I enjoyed the food. Except for 1 piece that kind of tasted dough-y(undercooked?), the rest were nice, warm and chewy just right. I recommend mixing in the chicken pieces with the rice and leaving the«sauce pool» alone(it’s pretty bland, but the chicken was pretty decent in flavor). Not bad! 3.5 up to 4 because I was pleasantly surprised.

I have ordered from Happy Garden’s downtown location at least four times now. Having never been inside the restaurant I want to make it clear that this review is based solely on their food and delivery services. Every time I order the man that answers the phone is super friendly! From start to finish the ordering process takes less than 2 minutes and I always get a warm greeting. Tonight he said, «Happy New Year!» Well Happy New Year to you too Mr Happy Garden man. :) In addition to great service they have a pretty extensive menu. I’m aware there are other places around town I could order from, but Happy Garden made the wonderful decision to print out their menu and put it in my mailbox! So instead of calling around asking is certain places serve certain dishes, I have the entire menu at my fingertips. In fact, on more than on occasion I’ve had friends call me and ask me to read their menu so they can order from Happy Garden too! Pretty funny. I guess their menus didn’t reach as far as South Lake Union. But they do deliver there! It certainly doesn’t hurt that their delivery time is always less than an hour(usually 30 mins) and that they only have a $ 12 minimum order. I’ve ordered plenty of dishes and none have been less than tasty. Their General Tso’s chicken is always a favorite, as well as their spicy Mongolian beef. I’m also a stickler for pot stickers and these are among the better ones I’ve tried here in Seattle. Not burned, not cold, not too wet. Just right!
