Hertz Equipment Rental Corp

Don’t rent from these guys. I wanted to rent a carpet cleaner for a couple of hours. The guy told me no because he wanted to rent it for the weekend. This was from the guy who works there. I’ll never rent from these rip offs again.

This company tries to scam people out of their money. Hertz pressured me to buy auto insurance on my car (even higher amount than I agreed to) and persuaded me to think that State farm doesn’t cover the car for insurance. I believed them, and bought the insurance. Then I was informed yesterday that State Farm told me that no, this was incorrect and that Hertz was just trying to get my money. Having a rental car for over a month, I plan not to pay, seek legal, and any PR to let people know NOT to go with HERTZ ever!

I’ve only been here once– our company normally goes to the location off of 4^th– but based on this experience I’m happy to give 5 stars. The short story is I was working on pier 90 and had 45 minutes to find a trash pump before a very large boat overfilled its gray water tanks and had to spill off into the sound. This Hertz was the closest rental place. The counter guy said he only had one pump left but it was reserved for the next morning. I explained my situation and he offered to give me the reserved pump and bring one in early the next morning for the other customer so everyone would be happy. From the second I walked in to the second the pump was loaded in my truck and I was on my way was under 10 minutes. These guys saved the day.

Where to start. First, let me say this is specifically for the Car Rental business at this location.
1) Car Rental Address is not updated so it took me an extra 20 mins and 12 dollar cab ride to get to the right place.
2) Agent looks like he is fresh out of high school (or still in) and did not read me the agreement or the pricing.
3) Returned the vehicle the next morning with a confirmation from the staff.
4) On Monday, 3 days later, I receive a ridiculous bill for 3 days + every add on you can think of.
Called Hertz Customer Support. Said they cannot do anything because they are corporate. Tried calling location and no response.
Cancelled payment via my credit card company.
Never using Hertz again.

Never had a bad experience here, the staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable. If you need tool rental, it’s the place to go!

These guys wanted $ 48 for a ladder that we needed for an hour. They wouldn’t even do a half day rate. I’ve never seen such a rip off. I’ve taken my business elsewhere and won’t be back here. Our shop is six blocks away and I’d rent here all the time if I didn’t think it was such a rip-​off.

I was really happy with the service that this place provided! I was in the middle of painting our house when we needed a VERY large ladder. I drove down picked it up and dropped it off the next day for a very nominal 24 $ saving me hundreds !! thanks hertz rentals!

I’ve worked with these guys for 27 years, first as AA rentals and later as Hertz. Hertz definitely took the corporate approach, cutting a lot of the experienced staff and selling off equipment when the recession took hold. That left a lot of the older guys who know what they’re doing to a T but might be a little slow to load. Still, they’re really good to work with and they’ve got everything. Some things, like lifts, might need a three or four days advance notice. And delivery is a stiff $ 175. If you’re in that area of town, they’re easy to get to. I might be wrong but I think the nearest other Hertz is way out in Bothell. In that case, you use Aurora Rents on 175^th.

As with any tool rental it depends as much as whether they have the tool on the shelf or if you get a tool «helping» you on the other side of the counter. Double check what they give you as they’re very quick to just throw the first thing they think of at you. I guess it makes them feel smart or something.
I wound up with an incompatible tool, so two trips and they still charged me for the extras, not happy.

This place has everything. I rented an impact wrench which was very nice and not very expensive. I also get my propane tanks filled here. But if you need a crane, ladder or any other tool for a day give them a call. The only down side is it takes a while to get anything when they are even slightly busy.
