History

Established in 2009.

We started hanging lights for Seattle area homes and businesses during the 2009 holiday season and are looking forward to a successful second year of business. Our business strives not only to bring a little bit of holiday cheer to our city but to also give back to the community in the form of yearly charitable donations. Last year we donated to Toys for Tots and this year we plan on donating to Northwest Harvest. We were also able to donate one holiday lighting package to the 2010 Susan G. Komen For the Cure auction.

Business Owner

Brett and Sharla, residents of Seattle, are co-​owners of Holiday Spirit Lighting. Brett graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2003 with a BA in Spanish and Sharla graduated from Williams College in 2003 with a BA in history. Since graduation they have traveled, volunteered and worked various jobs before starting their own holiday lighting business. Combining Brett’s business mind and Sharla’s artistic eye they hope to grow Holiday Spirit Lighting through their dedication to hard work and their business model that aims to give back to the community.

Great experience and great process. Took pictures of our house on his iPad, marked down where the lights would be, gave us an estimate, and everything ended up exactly as bid.
Lights looked great, everything was neat and clean. And when it came time to take them down they let us know they’d be coming around this month and voila, lights were gone and everything was neat and cleaned up.
Will use again next year. Thanks!

Brett and his team did an excellent job. Kind, helpful, courteous, professional, quick. Wonderful to work with. This was our first year using them and I will be using them again and again. They transformed a tree in our front yard and it became a favorite place in our neighborhood for a photo-​op.

They’ve done our lights on our weeping willow in Madison Park now for 5+ years. They are courteous, professional, and dedicated. The tree has become a neighborhood landmark for the holidays and so Holiday Spirit Lighting goes out of their way to light the tree just perfectly.

Called late in December for lights — Brett was super friendly, quick to respond and get lights up. Pricing is comparable to other companies (pricey, but that’s what you get for being lazy and not hanging yourself!) will definitely use again next year!

Got the holiday spirit? Don’t want to balance precariously at the top of a 30 foot ladder and store a bunch of lights in your garage for 11 months a year? Look no further, because Holiday Spirit Lighting has you covered.
My fiancée emailed a picture of our house to Brett at Holiday Spirit Lighting, explained what we were looking for and he promptly sent us back an estimate with several options and a quick sketch of where the lights could go.
After a bit of back-​and-​forth we settled on a plan and within a few days our lights were up! It looked beautiful and we didn’t have to hassle with it one bit. At one point we had a slight hiccup and they had someone out the next day to fix it for us.
I’d definitely recommend their service to anyone who wants to decorate their home with lights for the holidays.

I have used Holiday Spirit Lighting for the last 2 years now and have been very happy with the service that they have provided us. We have a large home with challenging roof lines and Sharla, Brett, and the crew do a great job of making the house and our yard look incredibly festive. They work with us to create something that meets our expectations and their prices are very reasonable. Being as busy as we are around the holidays, it is very nice and worth the money for us to not have to worry about decorating our homes exterior.
When we have issues with lights not working or bulbs burning out they make it a priority to come out and make any repairs and replacements needed in a very timely manner.
We look forward to working with Holiday Spirit Lighting for many years to come.

We hired Holiday Spirit to do our lights about three years ago. We have had a great experience with their service. They are always friendly and prompt when they arrive to install or remove our lights. They respond quickly to email queries. After our first year, they have offered us a discount for early installation, which is a great deal, so we’ve done that in recent years.
