The restaurant is small, but very nice and clean. We had party of 9 for lunch; they take reservations. Sat us right away but only one server working on a Sat. afternoon. Took 20 minutes for the server to come by the table initially. Service was a little slow because she was so busy. The food was awesome! Our party ordered a dozen oysters, calamari, seafood medley, 10lbs of crawfish and crawfish fried rice. All were delish! The I See Food was so good! We mixed some with the fried rice. Spice level 2 had a hint of heat. Seafood medley was $ 34.99/ 2lbs. Crawfish was $ 9.99/lb. Bill was high, but the food is really good. Definitely recommend it.

A refreshing new addition to the U-District. Not a place that will shake you to your core but definitely decent enough to deserve a few more visits if you’re in for a lighter meal. I didn’t want to go all out and order the $ 20+ seafood dishes for a weekday lunch so my friend and I got the gumbo and cajun fried rice. Food was on the bland side and tasted more Chinese/less Creole to me. Our Japanese milk tea, on the contrary, was way too sweet. Honestly, I’m not one to be picky about a $ 10.99 lunch set on the Ave. I was really hungry and I See Food provided a satisfactory plate of carbs. The staff are polite and the space is simple. Hope this restaurant gets a chance to settle in and prove its worth to the university crowd before facing the harsh turnover rate of this neighborhood.

I’m not much of a seafood guy but I wanted to suggest a place that everyone else can enjoy. I’ll be honest, I don’t like to get my hands dirty but someone did most of the work so I was pretty happy about that. We ordered clams, crab, crawfish and shared a bowl of rice. I don’t know why it stood out by my wife really liked the corn that came with it. We made it a little spicy and was quite satisfied with it. My buddy was excited about the place because he loves drinking a beer in the middle of the day. He had the jambalaya but didn’t like the cheese that was in it. I didn’t get to try it but he said it was better than the jambalaya MRE. We also ordered fried tofu which had a great texture. The place was very clean and I’m looking forward to the next visit.

Great addition to the Ave. Clean, modern and YUMMY! We’ve been here twice and had an enjoyable experience both times. The first time we had the boil with my see food sauce. I believe it’s 34.99 and it came with crawfish, prawns, mussels and some potatoes, corn and sausage. The sauce was SOOOOOO good! It was my favorite part but the boyfriend loved the crawfish and I really enjoyed the prawns. Last night we had 1 lb of crawfish with my see food sauce and chicken gumbo. The gumbo came with rice in a heart shape, nice presentation. Taste wise it was just okay. I probably wouldn’t order it again, it just didn’t really catch my taste buds. The boyfriend ate his whole thing of crawfish and I actually used his sauce and put it on top of the rice from the gumbo and it was so good! Next time I just want to get a side of rice and their sauce, YES it’s that tasty! Note: There’s a ton of garlic in it so if you’re not into garlic that may not be the sauce for you. Service has been friendly both times. We came on a Friday night both times and they were full the whole time. There’s two younger college students that served us both times. They’re nice but busy! They greet, seat, bring waters, take orders, bring drinks, bring food, bring towels and bibs, bus, answer phone for takeout and checkout. So you may not get the most attentive service but they get the job done. Overall, it’s a great little restaurant. We’ve enjoyed the food and will definitely be coming back. Price is pretty reasonable too. Last night we had 1 lb crawfish, gumbo, sake and 3 beers for like $ 40 so not bad!

I went here twice. The first time, I had 1lb of their cajun crawfish and shrimp. The shrimp was juicy, big and full of flavor. Worked really well with their sauce! But for $ 17, it was a bit much especially when it excluded pieces of corn and potatoe included in the $ 10 crawfish meal. The crawfish was overcooked and small. Didn’t seem like we got 1lbs worth. But maybe I was just hungry. Second time around, I came for seafood gumbo and yeah, it was pretty good! If you like ‘the taste of the sea’ flavor, then you’ll definitely get it here. It was my fault for order 3⁄5 stars… Warning that this is really, really spicy, like a 5 star for any regular Thai restaurant in America. Be warned… I’m an avid spice lover, but that was a bit too much. The older couple waiter were super welcoming/attentive. Second time around, there were a couple of newer waiters that moved us and other couples around different tables randomly and who Didn’t refill my water when I was dying from the spice… But that’s ok 5⁄5.

This place is the best seafood place in the UW district!!! The sauce is delicious and the service is delightful. Ate here then went to The Crab Pot, by far the better boil here.

Had the seafood medley, happy yogurt, and soft shell crab as an appetizer. Everything was really delicious and not over cooked. The mussels were really spot on! I think I’ll get mainly mussels next time because they were so good. This is now my seafood spot whenever I have cravings. Service was also really awesome. They will give you a bib and gloves.

Yummy, yummy, pretty good dinner with friends tonight~~ The restaurant is in UW district, tidy and sweet. We ordered crawfish, prawns and mussels in the seafood medley boil, also added 1lb. of king crab legs, sauced very delicious. Highly recommended Cajun fried chicken wings & lamb skewers, taro milk Tea & happy yogurt. Cheesecake roll-ups and Tiramisu was for dessert, not too sweet, especially tastes good when mixed with chocolate cream.

Yummmmmm. Great service and loved the food. Next time I will definitely take the server’s advice and use the gloves! I shared 1 lb Dungeness crab, 1 lb prawns, 1 lb mussels and edamame and it was way too much food but amazing! Will definitely be back! Great experience.

I see food was our option for a late night dinner on a Thursday. We walked into the place around 9:45 with 15 mins left for the place to close. We were the only guests in the restaurant. Thus it was not a surprise that the service was quick. They accommodated us even though before we entered it was very clear they were getting prepped for closing. So overall props on the service. For food we ordered the seafood gumbo, crawfish fried rice and the fish fillet. The asian fusion touch on cajun food was unique and the flavors worked well together. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The best of the lot I think was the gumbo, followed closely by the crawfish fried rice. For drink options you have options between beer, tea, and sake. All very good. Overall would go there again.

It’s pretty good. I had the seafood jambalaya. Way too much onions and celery. But it’s good tasting overall. I was surprised that it had a lot of seafood in it. The restaurant was very clean. That’s always a plus. I definitely would come back to try the seafood boil.

Plain and simple, if you love seafood, this is a place you need to go to. For the four of us we did two platters which meant 4 lbs of seafood(mussels, clams, snow crab, prawns and crawfish) plus corn and sausage. We did the I see sauce and spicy level 1. Bonus points for a selection of sauces and spice level. We went on a Friday night and we were seated promptly. The place was not crowded most likely because it’s so new but I envision this being a busy place in the near future when word catches on about the deliciousness. We were given lobster bibs, plastic gloves and wipes. We were encouraged to use our hands and given utensils when the crab was a bit too challenging. Service was good and prompt. The snow crab was some of the best I had and for the price it couldn’t be beat. Coming from Texas, I have a certain opinion of what crawfish should taste like and this crawfish didn’t make the cut. Most likely because I’m use to a different type of crawfish seasoning. Regardless this is the only fault I found besides the lack of beer menu. Standard domestics, no crafts.

I rate this a solid«pretty good,» although I wasn’t as adventuresome as I probably should have been. I dropped by the other night for a quick dinner before going to a show, and I may need to go back when I’m not pressed for time. The menu is divided into straightforward dishes with a Cajun bent, and also a more DIY menu section where you order a meat(shrimp, crab, clams, crayfish, etc.), a sauce, a heat level, and a side. You order meat by weight at market price, and that’s where I gave up right away… I have no idea how many pounds of clams I can eat, and I sure wasn’t going to go to a concert with a bag of leftover clams. The heat comes from ghost peppers, which I have yet to eat as far as I know but I feel like I have ample reason to fear them. So, there were enough known unknowns that I deferred to the straightforward dishes. I got veggie skewers and the fried tofu appetizer. The skewers were loaded with zucchini, peppers and onions. They were grilled quite well, though I’d say they could either slice the onions a little smaller so that they cook a bit more, or perhaps put one less chunk of onion on and replace it with a cherry tomato or something… the onion flavor was pretty powerful. Still, these were pretty good skewers, paired nicely with steamed rice. The fried tofu had a light coating of some Cajun spice blend that didn’t add flavor so much as color, and the spice was totally lost because the inside of the tofu was about 3 billion degrees. I presume this is not extra firm tofu because it seemed to have a pretty high moisture content and, thus, was able to retain heat like a little baby nuclear reactor. I’ll try again when I have enough time to explore the seafood/sauce/heat thing.

So I went to university in New Orleans and I’ve been to countless crawfish boils and eaten the best and worst of cajun cuisine. We visited I See Food because we wanted to get a pound a spicy boiled crawfish and gumbo! Upon visiting this place, I set my expectations low. I knew that being this far away from New Orleans would invariably affect the quality of the cajun food. BUT… I wasn’t didn’t set my expectations low enough for I See Food. This place does not serve cajun food. It is secretely asian food disguised as cajun food. The gumbo we ordered looked and tasted like a standard corn-starch-based soupy«seafood with garlic sauce». The See Food sauce is oil and garlic with a brown spice, and it’s supposedly the best option for that«cajun burn». The ethos is akin to eating at a take-out Chinese restaurant, being mostly white walls with black tables in a row. The only thing I liked was the fried calamari, which isn’t hard to mess up. Advice: If you’re looking for new orleans style cajun food — this place isn’t even close. Look elsewhere. If you’re looking to eat shellfish with a weird mix of asian and southern cuisine — go if you’re in the neighborhood and get take-out.

I’d never had Cajun seafood boil before. My husband and I ordered the seafood medley, which is your choice of 3 kinds of seafood; plus corn on the cob, potatoes, and andouille sausage. The crawfish were small and didn’t taste good(I’d never had them before but my husband said the same. The prawns and clams were good. We picked the My See Food sauce with a spicy level of 1 and it was really yummy.

Simple menu but amazing seafood boil. The servers were very speedy and got our order out quickly. It was a very fun dining experience because of the nature of the food with having to eat with your hands. They provided gloves, bibs, and wipes. I ended up actually using them. The item I chose was the seafood medley with the I See Food sauce and it was very spicy and saucy. The gloves and bibs came in handy. I normally would never use a bib, but it made it for a fun time. I loved the sauce and the dish was filling for 2 persons. You could pick 3 out of 5 different seafood options: crab, mussels, clams, crayfish, and prawns. They ended up giving a decent number of each along with 2 corn cob pieces, 2 sausage peices, and 2 potatoe wedges. It was very delicious with the I see food sauce and would recommend this to any seafood lover.

I came here with a group of friends last week. The service is topnotch and they offer easy, free bubble tea for sharing them on social media. One of my friends got the gumbo – it’s definitely not what you’d expect and was bland. Another friend ordered the lamb skewers w/fried rice which were mediocre, at best. We also got 2 lbs. Crawfish and 1 lb. King crab with the«my see food» level 3 spice. The sauce is insanely delicious and seafood was fresh. It’s a shame they do not sell the sauce! I recommend you come here for the Cajun boil, but stray from their other offerings.

I came here with my BF the other night and wow their boils are sooooo good. Their house sauce, called My See Food, is unique and buttery and is finger lickin’ good. For how fresh their seafood was, everything was very reasonably priced. This place is brand new on the Ave and the interior is very modern and sleek. Great place for a date. Go treat yourself!

This is a brand new restaurant on the Ave that took over the old space of that weird Heads Up store(animal hats, giant Beyonce poster, ring a bell?). They just opened up three days ago! The outside still needs a little work but the inside is sleek and modern with a couple TVs. I’m so happy to see a Cajun restaurant come to the U-District! However, they call themselves cajun fusion and offer items such as SEAFOODBOILS *heavy breathing*, gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish fried rice, and bubble tea. Prices are in line with other seafood boil restaurants around the area. I walked by on my lunch break today and decided to give this place a try. I mean I am alllllll over cajun food all day err’ day, 24⁄7. There was only one other customer in there but my waitress was really friendly! I ordered the seafood gumbo. It came out on a plate hot and in less than 5 minutes. The rice was shaped in a heart– cute touch! To be honest, I’ve never had gumbo. I love jambalaya and étouffée so I thought it would be similar. My dish was enjoyable but tasted faintly like chinese medicine? I don’t know how to describe it but it just tasted different from the other cajun dishes I’ve tried in the past. I don’t know if the«fusion» part comes from the bubble teas on their menu or if they actually add some kind of chinese flavor into their dishes. The seafood was good, but after looking at the other pictures of gumbo on their Unilocal page it seems like they skimped a little on mine. Also– they give you lemon water by default so if you don’t like lemon water(me) be sure to ask for regular water! 3.5 stars would be a more accurate rating for my experience here today but I appreciate the new addition to the Ave and really hope they do well! I won’t order the gumbo again but will definitely come back to try their boils once I find someone that will behead shrimp and suck the brains out with me(hard to find/usually creeps people out or something idk/taking applications)
