So expensive for such a small bao! Wish it was bigger but I had the pork lebaoski and It was too good to be true! It was delicious! It’s sweet and savy :) I’ll definitely try the taro fries next time. I wasn’t full after just one bao! I’ll recommend getting a bao or two, taro fries and maybe a drink! Perfect lunch meal :)

Wow. The Pig Lebaoski is hilariously named, and even better tasting to boot. Seriously, I could eat four of those. Though, I wouldn’t, cause that much pork belly is likely to kill someone. The Chicken Bao is good, but the Pig Lebaoski is definitely the thing to get here. I was not crazy hungry, so I didn’t get the fries, but there’s always next time. Quick note, the amount of food you get isn’t massive if you just order bao’s, especially for the price. If you’re starving, you’ll probably need to add on the fries.

Pork Belly($ 4) and Chicken Bao($ 4) for lunch. They both were disappointing. The bread was nice and fluffy. The chicken was heavily breaded and when you actually look at the meat, it’s tiny and shriveled. What you are tasting is breading. I think that 2 of them would have been a better fit. The pork belly was favorful but again, not appropriate for the size of the bun. Service and favor = 3 star. This is way over priced for what you get = 2 star

Their beef wrap is really good, haven’t gotten a chance to try other things on their menu yet, but I definitely recommend you guys to give this truck a shot.

4 and 5 stars!!! really? i drove 40 minutes to try this location in high hopes that it was going to be great. i only tried their baos. why try anything else? its their specialty. i ordered every bao they had on the menu, a total of 3 for $ 12. theyre small, a little smaller than the palm of my hand. here is my review: pig lebaoski — pork belly, cilantro, hoisin, and roasted peanuts. roasted peanut had no place in the bao and did not accentuate the flavors. i get they were trying to add texture. it was just a bad choice. the hoisin sauce did not pair well with the pork. it overpowered the pork. perhaps if the pork was cooked peking style or had a bolder flavor which it did not. Bao chicka wow — fried chicken, sriracha aoili, and scallion? im trying to remember everything that was in it. i do recall bland and boring. okay, ill give this one a 2 star. it was the better of the three. shroom boom bao — lettuce, sauteed shiitake mushrooms, and a protein(perhaps chicken). the poorly sauteed mushrooms were overwhelming and overpowered the bland protein. it was inconsistent. had a few mushrooms on top of the bao that tasted like it sat on the griddle too long or thrown in the fryer to reheat. a couple slices inside the bao were under cooked. i took a couple bites and spat the second bite out. i dont bash on restaurants/food trucks if the food is executed well. i hope the business owners read this and makes proper adjustments. positive reviews mean nothing. read the bad ones and make proper adjustments. theres probably a reason why competing trucks around the corner had long lines while bao time truck only had a few people. take this review how you will. im just being blunt and honest.

I had It’s Bao Time for the first time for lunch and was actually quite happy with the food. The portion was right for the price and the quality was quite good(the food wasn’t overly greasy and didn’t make me feel bloated after eating it at all). I had a Pig Lebowski bao($ 4) and taro fries($ 4) and were quite happy with it. The bao tasted quite good although it’d be nice if it had stronger seasoning. The pork was nice. and despite it being the belly part, didn’t taste so fatty at all. The fries, other than sprinkes of ground peppers on them were a little bland and I wish they were a tad crispier, but I’m glad they also provided sriracha-mayo sauce to go with them. That made it taste much better as well. What I like about It’s Bao Time is that it’s fast, better quality food, convenient and there wasn’t a long wait at all. I think I ordered and got my food within a few minutes of ordering(maybe I just lucked out and barely missed their lunch hours rush!). The guy handling my order was also nice an courteous. I will definitely keep It’s Bao Time ony my list of lunch options… and will probably want to try their beef wrap/green onion pancakes next time, too.

food: pork bao, chicken bao, and the beef wrap. i think the beef wrap was the best of the 3, followed by the chicken. as much as i love pork belly, it feels over played in the foodie scene now, yet i cant not eat it. haha. the beef wrap offers a unique taste thats not offered typically. pretty sure its the sauce they use. the chicken tastes like chicken karaage from japanese joints. ***4/5 service: you know how these food truck things go. when its busy its super busy and it usually stays that way. yet they were able to handle the volume from these big events. ***4/5 value: i cant ever get over the idea of food truck pricing, but this wasnt too bad. the food was great, but just a bit over priced. ***3/5

First off the food is good, but due to my experience today it’s motivated me to write a negative review. I visited Bao food truck for the first time during the Chinatown festival where I was delighted to have something Asian and good. The bao was warm and delicious and when I ordered the beef wrap I was suggested to get additional sauce on the side. This was a awesome suggestion and I was delighted to enjoy my wrap with some additional sauce. Though today at the SLUBP I was more than a little put off when I got my order because it had no additional sauce that came with the wrap the time before. I asked the girl that gave it to me if I could get additional sauce so I could enjoy my beef wrap. To my dismay she offered two sauces that weren’t what I was looking for. The beef wrap I enjoyed before came with a chutney like sauce that made it awesome. Today she offered siracha mayo or peanut sauce, which in sorry to say won’t cut it. My wife was particularly upset as well because of the attitude which soured the experience even more. It’s the small things that make or break the experiences. When you have a awesome experience and then go back to try to recreate that experience only to be met with attitude it’s not pleasant, and not able to recreate the experience put a sour taste in my mouth.

Good Taiwanese style buns(baos) served out of a food truck. I had the pig lebaoski(fun name!) and it was so indulgent. It was a bit expensive at $ 5 per bun, but there was a good amount of pork belly and veggies in the bun. In fact, there was so much that my bun split in half when I tried to pick it up! That’s a weird sounding sentence. There are worse problems than having too much pork belly in a bun though, so I’m not complaining at all. I just used a fork to eat it. Yum! If the portions were a little bigger or the prices a little cheaper, I’d be a perfectly happy customer.

Only reason it is four stars is because I wish it were a little cheaper. $ 4 for a small bao is slightly over priced. However, the food was bomb. The big lebaoski was finger-licking good. The beef green onion pancake rolls were so good and reminded me of ones my grandparents made. Great, authentic flavors. Great quality ingredients. Come around 1pm to avoid the SLU lines.

Saw this food truck at the DragonFest/Night Market in Chinatown and decided to give them a try. Pretty long line as they were opening up, but they were quick to take your order and keep the line moving. We decided to get the«Pig LeBAOski» which is braised pork belly with some pickled greens, chopped peanuts, cilantro and hoisin sauce all served in the pillowy steamed bun. It was pretty ok and killed it in like 4 bites. Also we got the«Shroom Boom Bao» which is their vegetarian option with oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms, some greens and a sesame sauce all served in the same steamed bun. Not bad, kinda wished there was more sauce, the mushrooms itself seemed a little plain but no big deal when eating it all together. $ 4 per Bao so its a little on the pricy side. The staff was working hard to get the orders all cranked out so it only took about 5 – 10 minutes to get our orders. Depending on my mood, may try them out again if I see them around.

Good food, quick service. I got the Pig Lebaoski which was intensely flavorful and beautiful tender. The meat was juicy and the bun soft and fluffy. I also got the beef wrap. I absolutely loved half the wrap(which I’m sure what it’s supposed to be like) with moist well seasoned meat and veggies that sung harmoniously. Unfortunately, the other half of my wrap had no meat and instead had a huge flappy cartilage which was impossible to chew or do anything with so I basically had to throw half the wrap away. Might go back here sometime to give them another try. I hope the next time the whole wrap is made correctly.

I’ve always been a fan of steamed buns and I am glad that this food truck exists. There are too many burger trucks and American cuisine oriented food trucks. All of which are overpriced(Skillet). You can’t go wrong with the pork belly and some taro fries. The only thing I don’t like it how crowded it gets sometimes, but that means the food is good. Give these guys some credit for taking some risks on some Taiwanese food and not going for the usual«Skillet» route.

Pig lebowski and beef wrap are legit!(says a true Taiwanese). I have not tried anything else on the menu because I prefer more traditional menu items. The meat were made to perfection, and the sauce, pickles, and peanut powder are the way they are supposed to be. I have been buying from this food truck weekly for the past 6 weeks now. To hungry folks, you have to beat the crowd and go before 12:30. Otherwise they will start running out of their popular items. They can substitute ingredients, but the originals are always better. The only suggestion that I have for the owners/chef is to keep the buns in a warmer because the last two times my buns were already cold when I got them. This does not appear to have anything to do with my time of purchase because once I went at noon and the other time at 12:40pm. I had to microwave the buns, and one exploded in the process of heating… *sniff*

It’s aBAOt time I tried a good Taiwanese food truck! I was able try this food truck when they visited the UW Night Market. The menu is concise so it’s easy to order and the pricing is by the dollar so no need for those pesky little coins. The truck sells the Taiwanese pork burgers(like the ones from Facing East) with different fillings to choose from. They also offer a few other options and some yummy appetizers. The Pig LeBaoski has braised pork belly topped with pickled greens and peanut crumble. It is wrapped carefully around a soft bun. There was a nice big piece of meat and the pickled greens added a nice dimension to the fattiness of the meat. I also liked the peanut crumble which added both flavor and texture. The bun is really fluffy and soft, and is a good carrier for the filling. On the other hand, the Bao Chicka Wow is their deep fried chicken cutlet topped with Taiwanese kimchi and siracha mayo. The chicken is so tender and perfectly fried. Mine didn’t have much of the Taiwanese kimchi on top compared to the amount of pickled greens on the Pig LeBaoski. I did like the siracha mayo that added some spiciness to the bao. However, the chicken piece was small compared to the size of the bun so I was left with several bites of just bun. Bao Time sells green onion pancakes as an appetizer, so we were drawn to the beef wrap which is braised beef shank wrapped in green onion pancake. For only two dollars more compared to the baos, I think this was worth the price. The beef wrap is bigger than the baos and more filling. The green onion pancake on the outside is delicious and does not overpower the beef. There is a lot of beef in this so every bite has big chunks of meaty goodness. Taro fries. No, not regular fries or sweet potato fries, but taro fries. Taro lovers, indulge in this savory treat. For just $ 3 you get a load of sliced taro that has been fried to perfection. It’s soft inside but firm on the outside. It comes with a siracha mayo like sauce to dip in. I liked this sauce since it added a kick to the taro flavor. I could not stop munching on these, even when my stomach was feeling full from all that fiber! Sweet potato fries are my favorite, but I would say that taro fries are a close runner up. All the people on the truck were very friendly and they were working efficiently to get food out right away. I think this food truck has a lot going for them and the food is packed full of flavor. Hope to run into this food truck again sometime in the future!

Want a delicious lunch with cleverly named dishes? You’re looking at a food truck review on Unilocal,so of course you do. It’s Bao Time doesn’t disappoint: Highly recommend the Pig LeBaoski. Everything else was similarly scrumptious, but if there are two things I can’t resist, they’re puns and pork belly.

Awesome new food truck around SLU! There is FINALLY a place that does guabao’s in the traditional Taiwanese way. I had their big lebaoski, which was excellent. Really soft, tender braised pork belly on a nice bun with pickles, crushed peanuts, and green onions. It’s really comforting food, reminds me of when my mom would make them for me when I was a kid. I also had one of their green onion pancakes with braised beef shank wrapped inside. Again, it felt like my mom cooked the shank and then wrapped it in a bing for my lunch. If you’re from Taiwan or China, this place has some awesome comfort food at reasonable prices. If you’ve never had this type of Chinese/Taiwanese food before, definitely check it out. It’s not something you get to see too much in the US.

The LeBaoski… Mm mmm good! So this place had awesome, flavorful, juicy, authentic food. I actually truly enjoyed it. — The LeBaoski(4 $): a thick slab of pork belly, perfectly good with a good ratio of fat and tender meat. The bao was soft, slathered with hoisin sauce(I think?), pickled cabbage, scallions and cilantro. I am a big fan of all of these ingredients individually and they were put together in just the right ratio where all the flavors shined. — Green onion pancake with beef(6 $): the beef reminded me of the beef my parents make. So good! This is something I’ve definitely made before at the dinner table at home hahaha. Super tasty but a little drippy. Kind of makes the pancake soggy if you don’t eat it fast enough. Overall the food was delicious, but it’s a little pricy. I was content with the two items I ordered but it cost me 10 $ and I could have definitely eaten more. If sticking strictly to baos, I probably would have needed to order at least 3 baos if I wanted to be content, which would have driven up the price to 12 $. Just something to keep in mind. :)

It’s BAO time! I just experienced the soft launch of this new Taiwanese pork burger food truck and it was really good. They have three main baos: big leBaoski, bao chicka wow, and the shroom(with oyster mushrooms) bao for vegetarians/vegans. It’s hard to pick a favorite because they’re all so different. They also have appetizers like green onion pancake with beef, taro fries and marinated egg also. The prices are fairly reasonable: $ 4 per bao, and the appetizers range from $ 3 to $ 5. There’s also a minced pork stew over rice for $ 8 but it’s a big portion and really flavorful! They will be located in the South Lake Union area when they start rolling.
