J & R Carpet Cleaning

Yup, we also bought the living social coupon and they do not return calls. They’ve had several months to return any one of our several calls.
Far as I understand things, taking money and not providing a service or product is theft.

I called J & R Carpet Cleaning 4 times over the course of 2 weeks to make an appointment for cleaning and left a message each time. Nobody ever called back, even when I promised an appropriate Unilocal review of their poor customer service.
Either this company is not in business anymore or they’re headed that way.

TERRIBLE customer service. I’ve left at least 10 messages and have never gotten a call back. They showed for my first appointment but told me it was $ 99 for the pet treatment and ended up charging me $ 250 because he «had to do it twice» — without even checking with me! Then we had to reschedule to use my Living Social deal another day (taking another day off work) and they were a no-​show. I’ve left multiple messages about the no-​show and still haven’t heard back. DO NOT use these guys. Though I doubt you’d be able to book with them anyway since they never answer their phones or call you back!

I bought a LivingSocial coupon for this company. I had an appointment scheduled yesterday for 10:00 am, which was hard to make anyway because these people never answer their phone and only get back to you days later.
I had tried calling them the day before with questions about payment, etc. as I wasn’t going to be home for the appointment.
My mother in law, who was waiting for them at the house called them at 11:30 as they were a no-​show. At 11:40 am, while I was unfortunately in a meeting at work, I received a voice message that stated that the person coming couldn’t find my house. It was Joe from GreenShield carpet cleaning, not even from J&R carpet cleaning. He said that his GPS took him an hour from my house, which I did not believe. My mother in law and I both called back multiple times, and left directions on voicemail, and wrote an email.
All day yesterday and today no one has been in touch with me about my missed appointment or to apologize. I think they never intended to come, or forgot the appointment, and made up an excuse about being lost.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! These people NEVER answer their phone. I luckily got a refund from LivingSocial; if not, was going to research into how to get them investigated by the BBB or some entity to help close up this shop, especially after reading Heidi H’s post about stolen rugs.

I scheduled service and left early fm work to accomodate the time due to my carpet needed cleaning prior to out of town guest arrival. I was home an hr before scheduled arrival and left front door open (screen door closed). After an hr of waiting i called the merchant and they told me the cleaners came an hr prior and no one was home. No one rang the door bell, knocked at my door nor call me to say they are outside waiting. So i reschedule the appt morning of the following week, and stayed home again to accomodate. They said they would be here between 8−10AM which I noted that they need to be here earier and be out by 10 as I have to get to work in time for a meeting. I started calling @ 8 to find and got recording saying they don’t open until 9AM and not to leave a msg due to problem w/​hackers. Called back again after 9AM, several times w/​no response. I finally got a call @ 9:45 saying they are just leaving Tukwila (about 15 – 20 min. fm my home), to my dismay. I told them this was too late and to cancel my appt w/​no reschedule

Bought a LivingSocial deal and something tells me I’m out $ 90.
I can’t seem to get anyone to call me back, even though their Elmer Fudd-​like VM message («Hullllooo, sorry we missed your call…») said they return calls within 24 hours. My guess is, they’re inundated with LivingSocial appointments and can’t handle the volume of customers.
I’m going to try and get LivingSocial to refund my money. So frustrating!
Update 1/​28/​13 – I pleaded my case and Living Social gave me a full credit, which I’m grateful for, but would have liked a refund. Got angry when I saw J&R come up AGAIN with Living Social. What a bunch of scammers!!! To this day, I never ever got a call back or a return email.

If i could give a zero star to this worst company, I would. I bought the promotion from Livingsocial, and it was a nightmare to deal with J&R carpet cleaning from the beginning. Tried numerous times to schedule a cleaning appointment but was never returned a phone call. They never pick up the phone and the voice mail says they would return back your message in 24 hours (what a big lie!!) They never did return my calls.
Finally after like 6 weeks of trying, I was scheduled to have carpets cleaned today. And guess what they were no show! Tried to call to see what’s going on, no answer. Left the message, no return call from them. This is the worst deal I’ve even gotten on livingsocial. Companies like J&R cleaning should not be featured or in business. They obviously blow off their customers. I am telling all my friends and family member to stay away from this company. It is the worst ever. Don’t waste your time and money on them.

Stolen? They have taken my rugs and have not given it back after 2 months. The driver picked 2 of my rugs up October 13 (2 months ago) along with my check and didn’t have a receipt to leave. He promised my rugs would be done in 2 weeks. When I didn’t hear anything at this time, I called asking where my rugs were and was told, «Oh, we are so glad you called because we wanted to tell you that we had to order a mechanical part from (some other part of the world) and it is delaying our ability to clean your rugs. We will have it to you next week.» 4 weeks pass from when I originally gave them my rugs and didn’t hear back again. Called a 2^nd time to ask and they said, «Oh, we are so glad you called. We had lost your contact info since it was tagged to the rug and must’ve fallen off so we couldn’t tell you that it was done. But, before we bring it back, we wanted to dye a part of your rug that is faded.» I … it back after 2 months! I wouldn’t know if this company can clean carpets or not.
We purchased a deal through Living Social and made an appointment for the next available Saturday. The tech called us fifteen minutes before the appointment to cancel, citing problems with the truck. We were disappointed that our time was wasted, but recognize that sometimes things happen. We were told that someone would call from their office the following Monday to reschedule. No one called.
I called their office Wednesday to explain the situation (since they appeared unaware our appointment had been canceled) and reschedule for the next Saturday. Guess what happened. The tech called to cancel again, this time citing logistical problems and being out of cleaner.
On Monday I called Living Social and got our money back. They were pleasant and handled it immediately.

Was able to schedule seamlessly over email. Tech arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable about my issue (steam cleaning to address biting mites) I could not believe how much he knew about the issue and even assisted in trying to find and catch a mite to show me. Had them treat one full bedroom of carpeting plus a loft bed frame with attached ladder, desk and bookshelf. He spent a lot of time and did not seem rushed. The cost was not inexpensive ($ 200 + tax) so my only regret is that I could not have them easily treat more of my home at that price (am dealing with an infestation that has been financially devastating and yet persistent). Still, I do not think the cost was unreasonable for the value I hope it will yield. I was blown away by how much the tech seemed to know about my situation and would recommend them to others in the unfortunate situation of a biting bug or just for general cleaning.

I was able to receive a very reasonable quote from J&R via email. Then I called to schedule a cleaning, and was able to get the next day! I was told the guy would show up anytime between 2:00 — 3:00 and he showed up around 2:05. He worked very hard to get the dirty dirty carpets clean. It took a little over 2 hours to clean 4 rooms. He was very nice and helpful.
I think our carpets took at least 20 hours to completely dry. (The carpet is slightly shaggy and he had to go over areas a few times.) Like Jimmy C. noted, the carpets were a bit crunchy once dried. However, they look great. Not all stains were completely removed, but I never expected them to be able to remove them all (they were old stains). I am very happy with my clean and fluffy carpets!

Just had our new place cleaned and they were great. I was able to schedule the cleaning with very short notice (try 1 day!) and they came out to do a great job. We had several stains on the carpet… almost all disappeared and those that didn’t are much less noticable… if he hadn’t pointed them out I would never had even noticed them.
I would definitely recommend their services.

Just had our carpets cleaned by them the other day and they did a decent job. They got out most of the stains, plus some older ones that were there before we moved in.
I was hoping they’d go the steam clean route, but they had more of a scrubber-​type tool. The carpet, when dry, was a bit crunchy due to dried up shampoo that didn’t get fully sucked up. But we vacuumed the carpet and it was fine.
The guy that came out was very knowledgeable and friendly. He spent a good 2 hours doing the cleaning and didn’t rush it like some others I’ve used. Overall, they did a good job and I’d consider them again.
