Lake City Picture Framing

I’ve driven past this place for years but only now needed a couple picture frames so we decided to drop in. They have a million different frames, mats, etc. (hyperbole of course) and everything else related to frames and other art supplies.
The couple (couple, I think) that owns the place has been there for about 25 years I think and are very friendly and helpful. They customized our frames and they turned out absolutely beautiful and better than expected.
As a bonus, they seem to be very engaged in the local community and there are many hints around the gallery that suggest they are very philanthropic as well… not in a «showy» way. Lastly, don’t let the neighborhood scare you away!
Admittedly, the final price tag was higher than expected which seems to be consistent with some of the other reviews but I have no gauge of what these things cost so I don’t know. At the end of the day you’re likely buying something to last a lifetime and they do great work.
Will go back for my future framing needs. Thank you!

I have been going to these folks for years and have never been disappointed. I find them to be competitively priced. I’ve worked with 3 or 4 of their employees, and each one has provided creative and tasteful suggestions for matting, framing, and glass options. I’ve presented some challenging pieces and they’ve done well, even repairing some damaged items. Also, I appreciate that they try to meet my needs and do not push for more expensive choices than I prefer.
One reviewer perceived that a staff was rude on the telephone. I’ve experienced only respectful encounters there. Once, when I arrived shortly after store closing, the staff even re-​opened the door to serve me. I highly recommend Lake City Framing

Finally made the decision to frame several pieces and, without too much knowledge or interest in decoration, we took our artwork to Lake City Picture Framing: we worked for several hours w/​Jade and we are so happy w/​the results of our teamwork! Jade is patient, creative and clearly understands the voice of the customer. The owner is also often in the store and she is very friendly, always ready to help.
Custom framing is expensive, but good quality, and there are ready-​made frames available that can be used to fit all budgets.

Thank you for helping me! I came in with a crazy, homemade, delicate frame that I needed glass for. Even though the job was unusual and difficult, they did not hesitate to help me. They even gave me ideas on how I could do it myself if I wished. I ended up asking them to do it for me and they did a wonderful job!

It’s not inexpensive to get artwork framed at Lake City Picture Framing, but the two pieces we’ve had done there came out beautifully.
Their selection of frames is outstanding. It’s worth the drive to go there because we KNOW we’ll find framing and matting options that are really well suited to the work being framed. We don’t need/​want assistance choosing our frame/​mat material, but if we did, it’s certainly available. We’ve seen staff there spend lots and lots of time helping customers figure out that perfect framing solution. They also do specialty framing that’s gorgeous. (Check out the framed photograph of the two children picking apples that’s on display; don’t know how they did it, but there are apples here and there on the mat. Wish I’d thought of that!)

Extremely rude person over the phone!

It must have been a bad day for me at Lake City Framing based on these other reviews. We invested about $ 500 there to have several pieces framed/​matted, one of which came back with ‘waves’ on the print that became more noticeable over time; we brought the wavy framed print back along with some other items. They framed the items and reframed the wavy print, but charged us anyway and the pieces we brought in weren’t done the way we’d asked. Expensive and kind of arogant.

The absolute best. Great service, selection, and price.

We’ve had a few large photos framed here. It was expensive but they do great work. They helped us pick out the color and the frames for our photos. I appreciated the professional opinion.

I needed a custom mat for a series of photos for a friend’s wedding. These guys took very good care of me. They have a good number of mat colors in stock, and can custom order many others with a couple of days turnaround. Plus, they’re super nice!
And even though I came in for a custom job, I couldn’t help but notice how many really cool pre-​made frames they have in stock using their custom materials. I’m going to go back to stock up on frames, which seemed to me to be a very fair price. In general, they have a great big selection of everything.

Great service and a decent price. Recently, the frame on a 15-​year-​old 4’x4’ sentimental piece of art of mine began to give way. I called around, and the Lake City folk asked detailed questions to determine the problem and give me confidence that they would do the job correctly, so I took it there.
A couple weeks later, it’s back on the wall in its full glory, and it seems to be more solid than ever. When picking it up, they even provided detailed advice about how to better fasten it to the wall so it’s less likely to come apart again.

I spent a couple of hours working with Vanessa today on three framing jobs. I had taken the same works to a downtown frame shop and felt I could do better in terms of framing and price. So glad I came to Lake City Picture Framing. The prices were far, far below the price quoted me at the downtown shop — better yet, I came away with much better framing. They have a computer program that allows you to select different framing options and then see what it will look like. A huge plus!

I’ve been using these guys for over a decade (maybe even 2 decades) and I cannot imagine what I’d do if they were not there. They are fantastic at picking frames and mats to really show off your artwork. I am clueless on that, but I love the combinations they suggest. They are not at all pushy and help you keep within the price range you have determined for the artwork you’ve brought in. I’ve never been unhappy with their work or regretted any purchase from them. I would not even consider going somewhere else.

Excellent service and quality! …a little expensive but is balanced out and more by their service (a great «can do» attitude) and speed. We will use them for all of our framing needs.

I had several items framed here years ago and always thought their quality was outstanding, but their prices a little high. However, when you think that some of the stuff I have had for nearly 20 years, the price is quite reasonable used them today and the service was amazing. I got two custom mats cut with two holes so that two photos could be in a single frame.
When I showed them what I wanted, they explained ever so gently that I had made the wrong selection, got some samples to show me what they suggested, why it was better then what I wanted.
I fully thought it would need to come back or worse, they were going to tell me I was going to need to pay an expedite fee to get it done within my time line. They then cut them to size perfectly while I waited.
Alan was a huge help and a consummate professional. I will definitely be going back there again the next time I need framing expertise.

This place is amazing, been there like forever. Prices were very good, service was they know what they are doing, huge section for buy it now. I also had some stuff custom framed and for the price it turned out exactly how I wanted. What a great find!
