We are cat experts, constantly expanding and updating our knowledge about feline health, psychology, and behavior. We are highly experienced in ministering to elderly and ailing kitties and those with special needs.

We offer a «holistic» approach to cat care, closely monitoring your cat’s emotional well-​being, physical health, and activity level, and reporting this information to you as often as you like.

We customize our services to each kitty-client’s unique personality, needs, and preferences. We treat your cat as if it were our own.

History

Established in 1997.

Lap of Luxury has long provided the highest quality cat care to feline residents of Greenlake, Eastlake, Ravenna, Fremont, and Magnolia. We are the oldest, and most experienced, cat care service in Seattle and pride ourselves on being named «Best in the City» by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine.

Lap of Luxury was born 13 years ago, when Lynne Madrigal acquired her first cat, Ouzo, and proceeded to become utterly «hooked» on cats. She credits Ouzo with altering the course of her life and work.

Previously serving as a Program Manager at Chicken Soup Brigade and, later, at Crisis Clinic of Seattle/​King County, Lynne forsook her career in social services 13 years ago to devote herself entirely to cat care. She has never looked back.

Business Owner

Lynne Madrigal hails from Westport, Connecticut and has lived in Seattle for 20 years, the last 13 of them spent building Lap of Luxury into the premier cat care service in Seattle. Lap of Luxury has been named «Best In the City» by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine.

Lynne’s background includes a B.A. in Sociology from Drew University and a Masters in Education from the University of Bridgeport, with a specialty in counseling, (which, oddly enough comes in quite handy in communicating with cats and their humans).

Lynne’s love of cats was kindled when she got her first, and beloved, «Ouzo» in 1993. This love match spurred an avid interest in felines, an interest which she regularly feeds by keeping up-​to-​date on the latest medical, developmental, and behavioral information about these complex, and awesome, creatures.
