Are you a fan of Local 360, but can’t afford dining there regularly or a fan of the local ingredients there and want to take them home to make a wonderful meal on your own? Then Local 360 Mercantile is for you. The Mercantile is a few steps away from the restaurant on Bell Street. It looks like a typical neighorhood grocery/bodega. Except the difference here is that the products are gourmet and mostly local. It is like buying groceries and food stuffs from Local 360’s kitchen directly. The space is smallish, but it has a little bit of everything that you would need to make a good meal at home. Produce, meats, eggs, cheeses, deli meats, beer/wine, spices, breads, snacks, freshly made sandwiches and cookies, etc. Another cool thing is that a number of items bear the Local 360 brand name including bottled cola! Local 360 Mercantile essentially is a grocery store version of the Made in Washington stores. Though like the restaurant, not everything is 100% local. I picked up a reasonably priced New York steak that apparently is sourced from a small North Carolina farm. The steak was great, but I can’t help but think there must be a Washington supplier out there which can produce a steak as good. That said, the quality is more important to me than the item being local. I just prefer that my dollars stay in-state. Local 360 Mercantile is a great place to shop to show your support for local products. Worth a visit after a meal at the restaurant or a random visit on its own.

love this place: Freshly Butchered, well priced MEATS, Local Produce and a surprisingly large selection of dry goods. the neighborhood needs a place like this and those in belltown should support it. I come here to pick up groceries for a quick dinner before I head home after work.

This neighborhood has needed a market with fresh produce for awhile. I love Pike Place Market and all, but it gets pricey and I hate the tourist crowds. The Local 360 Mercantile is affordable, fresh, and convenient for us who live on the block. The butcher’s selection is my favorite part. You can get the same yummy breakfast sausage meat that they sell in the restaurant! Love it!

This place is great! I love everything about it. Local meat, veggies and wines all for less than most places trying to do the same thing. It is also conveniently placed in Bell Town so swing by on your way home from work.

Ben the Butcher’s in the house slicing off rib eyes and pork loins for around $ 6/pound. Mega-sized sandwiches they’ll throw on the grill for $ 6.50 and farm fresh eggs for $ 3.99/dozen! You’ll pay $ 6 – 8 at the farmer’s market. 4 stars because, although they stay true to local, their selection of spices, mustards and marinades were a little weak. If you’re looking for the latest and greatest in local quality condiments, grains & wines, go to Picnic(Greenwood). They’re selling Ballard Bee honey, Hot Cakes salted caramel, Rancho Gordo heirloom beans and grains & Otis Kenyon Matchless Red, along with many others. Their deli is delicious, but you’ll think it overpriced… I digress. Local 360 Mercantile is selling Painted Hills beef which is a partially grass-fed variety. They also have a small selection of fruits and vegetables, some of which will call to you softly from the display baskets, looking past their prime and desperate for some action. Nom nom. I’ve had better. Just ignore those«come wither» looks. The kitchen, as seen through the large display window, is immaculate and organized, which gives a sense of having made a truly good decision in where you’ve decided to shop & dine. Unless they’re using those forlorn fruits and veggies… that would be another story.
