Lucky Envelope Brewing

Excellent beer! We came in on a quiet Saturday to have a few beers and play some games. Very laid back atmosphere and friendly service.

No glitz or glamour just your run-​of-​the-​mill nano brewery. Beer was good, service was good, atmosphere was fair.

Great people making solid beers. A hidden gym in the Ballard brewery scene. Easy to get a great pint and food trucks to boot. The staff are always accommodating and I have never had an issue finding a seat.

Lucky Envelope Brewing is a good little local brewery.
It’s a no-​frills brewery– with a small tasting room and seating area– but they do make some good beers.
My advice would be to try a few– though the tasters are a bit expensive. Some beers were a lot better than others– the double IPA was really great; their Belgium Style Dubbel tastes nothing like a Belgium Style beer– or a Dubbel for that matter .
They are currently in a few local bars on tap– but no canning or bottling yet.
My only thought on how they could improve– the service was a bit surly when I first arrived (dark haired dude– though he warmed up after a while), & their prices are bit high for tasting and growler fills…
They’ve only been open since the beginning of the Summer– so I’m sure they will work out the kinks.

Holy heck… of all the amazing beer coming out of seattle’s brewery bubble, Lucky Envelope’s Mosaic IPA takes the cake, hands down… and I drink A LOT of beer. seriously TRY THIS BEER!

Just like every other brewpub in Seattle, Lucky Envelope has their share of IPAs, double-​IPAs, etc., and of course the mandatory pumpkin beer, but their selection beyond that is what I really enjoyed. The Citra Pale is refreshingly bitter without beating you in the face with it, and the blonde ale is crisp, smooth and (for lack of a less hipster word) sessionable. But the all-​star in their lineup for me was the peanut butter stout. It might be my favorite beer of all time, and I generally hate gimmick beers. The peanut butter saltiness was a surprisingly good complement to the stout’s smokiness. And I just really like peanut butter.
The décor is really understated, which in itself is almost an understatement, since it’s basically bare walls, some minimalist abstract art and some random university flags from schools the owner attended. The service wasn’t terrible (he took my money, poured beer into a glass and then gave me the glass), but I don’t think I heard the bartender utter a non-​transactional word the whole time we were there.
I guess what I’m saying is come for the beer, not for the atmosphere or service.

Enjoyable visit here. The guy working the taps was conversational and educational about the beers we were drinking which was great.

Good stop. I liked this brewery! I had the American wheat which was very good. I also sampled the dark lager which was also really good. I liked their brewery space and they have a nice outdoor area as well. I would stop by here again.

I love this spot mostly because both times I went (on a Friday at 4:00 pm and on a Sunday at 3:00 pm) it wasn’t obnoxiously busy like some of the other Ballard breweries. There wasn’t a million kids and dogs running around everywhere. My favorite beer was the Helles Lager.

Nice space. Friendly bartenders. Get the Helles Lager. High chairs. Changing tables. Games. Art. Water. Chips. Food trucks on Friday and Saturday. HH until 6 on weekdays. Bring your dog. Drink beer. Ramble on Unilocal

Entitled, rude, and horrible beer. The fact that my fiancée was standing in front of the cash register wanting to make an order and the beer attendant on duty was just looking at him talking to another person and not even acknowledging him there was not helpful what-​so-​ever.
My fiancée had a few questions that the guy on duty didn’t even care to answer. Their beer is not anything to write home about either. Another thing is that this place closes super early. There were a few people who got there at 8:30 PM and were bothered that they had to down their drinks because the guy who worked there was passive aggressively putting chairs up like it was no one’s business.
I wouldn’t even bother trying to come back here because not only are the people who work their rude as hell, the parking situation is awful. Good luck trying to find parking.
There are other breweries in the area that offer better beer with cheaper prices, too.

Another Ballard Brewery! I’m always a fan. I love the Brewery district and love to see it grow. This place has good beer, but the atmosphere is a bit sterile. Feels like the inside of a Phở place, not a brewery. I know it’s only been open for a few weeks, so there’s plenty of time to develop character. I’ll be back!

A new brewery to join the large brewery grouping in Ballard!
Steve and I swung in here several weeks ago and had some marvelous IPAs!
They had a nice patio to sit out for people watching and and absorbing the nice weather!
Service was very good which means an added conundrum as to what breweries to hit first when hitting Ballard.

Cool spot, though I wouldn’t say there’s anything that makes this brewery remarkably different from the other 971 breweries in the vicinity. There’s food truck parking out front, they seem to be pooch friendly inside and outside, and they have some games for you to play on the side.
My friends got samplers, but I just went with two of their beers: the two pepper pale and the trippel. They seem to do a good job with infusing unique ingredients; I was a big fan of the two pepper pale.

Best new brewery to the Ballard area. They really make quality and tasty beers. The ambiance is very similar to breweries in the area but their beers set them apart.

To all of you who have families and dogs, or friends with families + dogs + strollers – but who also have a desire for good beer and great atmosphere, know it can be nearly impossible to find a nice relaxing place to get together where everyone can not only enjoy themselves, but also be well appreciated. With a stock of excellent and intriguing brews, house sodas and a fresh water bowl, I could not be more impressed or happy with my decision to try out LEB.
Now don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a chuck-​e-​cheese fun zone, or a dog park, but I was pleasantly surprised to see just how many people of all shapes, sizes and ages were here: mingling, eating, playing, and having an all-​and-​out grand time.
Enough tables, good light + rotating food cars.
A little unassuming from the outside, but excellent walking distance from Poppylux + Staub.

I’ve been to Lucky Envelope twice now, first time was their Grand Opening during Seattle Beer Week (what a madhouse!) and second on a quiet Saturday afternoon.
The beer is excellent, the staff are great, and Barry, the brewer is excellent to talk to about his beer. The «Fog Dart» Pale, is excellent and the special «Two Pepper Pale» was very surprisingly tasty and not spicy!
The food trucks that have been there have also been amazing choices. We will definitely return many more times.

Good brewery with solid beers. If this is how they open, think of six months from now! Looking forward to more deliciousness! Lots of seats, TWO lovely bathrooms, each M/​F ADA compliant and with changing tables. Doggie and kiddie friendly but plenty of space so you don’t feel right on top of them.
Counter bar, if that’s your thing, or plenty of high top bar stools/​tables. Also, ADA compliant on all levels so quite cool as everyone can enjoy the great brews.

Terrific new brew pub with an award-​winning brewmaster. Went with friends to a soft opening last week. Really great beer. A Belgian subtly infused with Thai kaffir leaves was a natural for a growler fill and perfectly complemented the Vietnamese take-​out we got later that night. The Helles Lager is going to be a favorite… a super drinkable classic. Two IPAs, each sophisticated efforts are palate friendly creations that will keep us coming back. In fact, returning today for the cherry infused stout. Barry and Ray are friendly hosts, great conversationalists and !! dog-​friendly !! Nice addition to Ballard’s brewery neighborhood!
