Yeah… I went here last night for a mani/pedi, and while it was cheap($ 25), it was the worst I’ve ever had. My cuticles were not completed trimmed, nail polish was sloppy, and there were floaty things in the foot soak tub(some of which looked like toenail clippings). I honestly wish I would have either spent an extra $ 10 for a decent mani/pedi or just done it myself. I don’t recommend this place. I gave it 2 stars, because the ladies who were working last night were pretty nice.

I don’t care for their services, I only come for hair shampooing. This use to be a filthy place but it a bit cleaner now, because they just slapped a fine from the State last year. They are very sloppy, they don’t sanitize their tools. They are either uneducated or don’t care about transmission of diseases. They are often pressured people to buy their products, and most of beauty products are made in China or Korea with no English labels. I would never trust these products. They tend to talk very loud in Asian language and that is disrespectful.

Don’t go here. There were only 2 workers on a busy day so they had to call a guy friend who wasn’t even professional to do hair… the service was so rushed that everything turned out bad. The two ladies that were there on the day I visited peer pressure customers into doing things they don’t want. Never going back again.

I’ve been coming Milan Hair for a few years now and am very happy with the service. Tina & Jenny have been great. Tina is very knowledgeable and is always in a good mood. She truly loves what she does. Recently Tina talked me into dying my hair the Seahawks colors of blue & green. She stayed way past closing time to finish & did a remarkable job. Their facial massages are Great too. Milan Hair & Spa deserves 6STARS! Thank you ladies!

I have this nasty habit of being completely random. I’ll just wander in off the street to get waxed almost anywhere. Today’s foray into the unknown resulted in a mediocre eyebrow wax and huge gobs of wax in my hair. There was a half-assed attempt at getting the wax out of my hair that just ended up smearing it around. I’m looking forward to combing it out.

Its kind of a hit or miss with this place. The owner is a pretty nice lady, she’s talkative and quick at what she does. Which could be good or bad depending on the services you’re getting. I come here mostly for eyebrow and upper lip waxing. Both total to $ 12. I love how Hoang(?) waxes my eyebrows. She’s merticulous and takes her time with you. Each eyebrow session with her has lasted close to 10 minutes and you come out feeling like a rockstar! The owner on the other hand tends to rush. I got my eyebrows done today and was not satisfied. There are reminant of hair left over and my right side appears to be longer then my left side in terms of lenght. Sigh* I have to fix this hot mess before work tomorrow. As for the hair cut, they’re all pretty decent. I trust this place more then any of the other hair salons in the Id. The ladies are trendy and are fashionable. Eitherway – I suggest Hoang if you’re in need of a wax. She works weekend only and the salon is less busy in the morning!

Update… Sadly, I have to take back my praises for Milan Hair & Spa. I went back to get my color redone. I was hoping to get the same price from the same stylist(Monica). Monica wasn’t working that day or she might not even work there anymore. Another stylist was working and talked to me about my hair and quoted me two different prices for what sounded like the same treatment. Either case, I got the impression through Vietnamesey-English that I would need two processes at a cost of $ 90. Not that the price really surprises me, but my confidence that this stylist understood and communicate about what she was going to do to my hair was about as clear as mud. In addition, she spent 20 minutes fussing with her own makeup while discussing options with another hairstylist. So customer service? No so good. I ended up getting my hair done(one color) this time by the owner. But she didn’t impress me because she didn’t even ask what color I wanted. After I spent 30 minutes discussing, er, me pointing at the color sample, with the other stylist and the two of them vietnamese-ing about it, I was expecting to get the color I had asked for. Instead, I got black. Not the worst thing in the world, but definitely NOT what I asked for. And definitely not the great $ 35 price I had in Oct 2010.

I have curly hair and have it blown out regularly. I’ve been to high end salons as well as had $ 15 blowouts in NY’s Chinatown. This was absolutely the worst blowout I have ever had. Firstly the woman didn’t actually blowout my hair. She took a blow dryer and blew my hair around until it was a huge tangled puff around my head. She also burned my scalp during this process. She then proceeded to try to flat iron my frizzy dry hair, tearing it out and breaking it in the process. I will not be back.

I’ve been going to this place for the last 5 years and have had my hair done by at least 3 of the women there and I have always been pleased with the results — whether it meant getting my hair colored(red, purple, brown, light brown) or getting my hair layered with side-swept bangs. The ladies are extremely meticulous when it comes to styling your hair and meeting your preferences and they give you suggestions and ask you if you’d still like that extra inch trimmed off — so you have some time to reflect before actually proceeding. It must have taken at least 20 – 30 minutes to get my hair done(surprisingly long) but only because my hair stylist was extremely attentive. If you don’t mind Vietnamese pop music/karaōke songs and women chattering away in Vietnamese, this is a great place! Also, banh mi @ Saigon Deli is next door — how much more awesome is that?!

Pleasantly surprised! Most of the time you go to these Asian-run salons and point to a picture, the result is that you don’t get anywhere near the haircut in the picture. This place was different. The results were fantastic. The girls were very meticulous to my friend and I and followed our requests carefully. They spent at least 20 minutes cutting and refining our hair. Styling and shampoo got me at $ 18(no shampoo = $ 16) not including tip. I have paid more for less at places like Regis or even Gene Juarez. Recommended.
