After after a number of disc issues, two back surgeries and many doctor visits a nurse recommend I learn to meditate to manage the pain. Fast forward to today my back is the happiest it’s been in 10 years due to taking regular Pilates classes at Sound Mind and Body. I still haven’t learned to meditate but I am enjoying my back been the healthiest it’s been in years. Dana Rocks!

He is safe and knowledgeable, and wants all his clients to be successful. I love Mind Body on Site! It works perfect for my life style. Josh is a incredible trainer. He has helped rehab my knee from being injured by another trainer at another gym. I like the way he always makes each session different and custom for me. He also helped me get my body in shape for my wedding on July 13,2013. I went down two inches in month and I loss ten pounds total.

Yikes! I walked in their open door looking for a schedule. No one acknowledged me, so I had no way of knowing who worked there.
I asked a woman (one of about five people in there at the time).
She walked towards me, and said in a very unfriendly manner «that’s all online». No eye contact. I couldn’t help but notice I was being herded out. I was only a couple feet into the place.
These were the only words she said to me. I had to walk backwards. Then she shut the door. In my face.
I don’t look homeless or crazy, and there was no class going on. I had asked politely in a quiet voice.
I wish I could give no stars. I left feeling pretty bad.

I highly recommend Mind and Body for anyone who wants to be challenge. Dana has been awesome! I have only been with him for a short time but I have never been more inspired. He is extremely attentive (even in his larger classes) and you can tell he’s working out a goal while working with the goals you have set for yourself. I have been doing Pilates on and off for 3 plus years I can’t wait to see what my results are after being with him for several months. Wish I started sooner, considering how close I live to the studio.

I have come here for years, and I love it! You will get an amazing, engaging workout, and Dana and Heather are both wonderful, challenging and charming instructors. If you come here a couple of times, you will be hooked forever!

Mind and Body Pilates is a neighborhood treasure, plain and simple! Dana has done an excellent job of creating an open space with multi purpose machines and toys. The result is a workout that is always changing, never boring and very effective. Classes are affordable and never overcrowded, or at least never feel that way because the instructors always give you personal attention, and can point out ways to modify your movements/​position to make the exercise more or less challenging. You won’t regret trying it out.

I have been going to this studio for several years. Every workout session is a little different and Dana is a fabulous instructor. There is allot of core work and classic Pilates. There is also an aerobic and strength component which I really like. It is also a good value for the hour class.

I started Pilates @ Mind and Body when I was 49. I have kept regular sessions for the past 4+ years — all with Dana — who always shows up to teach — upping the ante — pushing to greater benefit. I have done private, duet and trio sessions and highly recommend the focus and more individual attention in the smaller sessions. Dana’s method produces results. I could not be happier.

Dana evolves his workouts and updates his equipment to provide challenging yet accessible cardio and core-​building classes to any level of fitness. He’s been teaching for a long time and his quick analysis of form makes it a safe and fun workout for everyone, even in the larger classes. I give him five stars but have not worked out with the other instructors.

I love that this studio offers more than the traditional pilates mat work. Dana, the owner, has taken many of the concepts from the machine work and developed ways to incorporate that work into a mat class. He also has applied concepts from other exercise types (like cross-​fit), so that his classes offer quite a bit of cardio work. The tough workout in his more advanced classes keeps me coming back. The other pilates teachers are also very good, I attended many of their classes when I was starting out.

I’ve been going here for years and it’s terrific. The owner/​head teacher gives personalized attention even if the class size is large. He also has more than a dozen years of experience teaching and has made thoughtful modifications to the classic elements of Pilates. Classes are a great mix of strengthening, stretching and some classes are cardio. Both private lessons and classes are available.
