History
Established in 2005.
My name is Jeannie and I’m the founder of Miro Tea. I created Miro Tea with the simple mission of making tea delicious, approachable and accessible. I believe strongly in the life giving abilities of tea and I love how it can both revive and yet sooth us at the same time. I grew up in a environment where people came together and bonded over cups of tea, and I sought to recreate those moments in a setting where we can encourage more people to drink and love tea.
There’s no snobbery or pretense at Miro Tea. We just love talking about and drinking teas of all varieties, and we believe strongly that the best way to encourage people to explore and ultimately adopt a new product is by appealing to ALL of their senses (sight, smell, taste, touch and even sound) in an environment that is as warm and approachable as the people serving and educating you about the product.
Meet the Business Owner
Jeannie L.
Business Owner
I am a mother, wife and independant small business owner. I created Miro Tea because I craved a dedicated space where quality tea selection, good service and attractive and inviting environment existed together. My experience in small business stems back to my childhood where I worked and observed at my family’s restaurant at the age of 11. Busing tables and washing dishes. Small business is in my blood and seeing and catching up with my customers everyday is what energizes me and makes running a customer focused business like Miro Tea fun.
As for my background in tea, I grew up drinking tea but didn’t come to fully appreciate or understand it’s qualities until I was introduced to real high quality tea in college. Until then I never knew that tea could be so full of flavor and texture, not bitter at all! And I was impressed with how tea both stimulated me and yet relaxed me at the same time. From there I was hooked.
