Meline is terrific! She has a great wealth of knowledge she shares in a way that is easily digestible and easy to understand. Plus, she is as passionate about my business as I am! I highly recommend.

I run a small but growing consultancy based in Seattle. Over a year ago I engaged Meline McWhirter of Natural Numbers to (a) migrate my bookkeeping to QuickBooks and (b) manage my routine bookkeeping tasks. Natural Number has been doing our corporate books and payroll for a number of years for our Engineering Services company. She migrated us from QB to QB online and now it is much easier for us to keep everything updated and categorized. For several years I was an Executive Assistant for a fairly high profile CEO who has an extremely busy and complex life and financial profile. Unfortunately, he had a very negative experience with a former bookkeeper who was unethical. My company, Killer Infographics, has been working with Meline for nearly 2 years now. She first helped us clean up all of our accounting (which was on excel spreadsheets) and move it all into Quickbooks. Since then, she’s handled our state taxes, payroll and so much more.

Most of her clients are still here in Seattle and she’s quick to hop on a Skype video chat anytime you need a face to face meeting.

She might know what she is doing book keeping wise. She claims on her website she has a corporation but does not. She advertised in Seattle but is located in California. I felt that the website with an Inc. on it was pandering. She does not want to be an employee but does not take the steps necessary to be an ethical business. I don’t believe this is acting with integrity. Oh, yes one more thing. Her prices are high enough that one could hire a local corporattion fully licensed and bonded for a lower price. Guess what I am going to do.

As a new business owner, Meline provided exactly the kind of support that dissolves my fear of convoluted tax requirements, and gives me confidence I’m presenting my business accurately and appropriately. I’m pretty excited to have found a trusted advisor (especially since none of my small business owning friends could say they could honestly recommend their tax consultant!), and I’m looking forward to getting set-​up with an ongoing book-​keeping relationship.

I am a graphic designer that works with lots of other designers, taking in and paying out money. As my workflow began to grow, I kind of freaked out about taxes. She was really helpful, answering all my questions and it was clear that she was interested in not over charging me. which is awesome. I can’t say enough good things about Natural Numbers services. The Owner, Meline is professional, friendly, and has great attention to detail. My husband and I own a small business. We have gone through four bookkeepers over the past five years that we have been in business. After our fourth bookkeeper sent us a bill charging us close to $ 200 for time spent on correcting her mistakes and charging me $ 20 for a single paragraph email that probably took her less than five minutes to write, I almost gave up on finding a decent bookkeeper. Fortunately, I found Natural Numbers by accident (on Unilocal) and we couldn’t be happier. Meline is extremely competent, totally transparent, and is very fair with her pricing. We plan to stick with her for the long run!

I run a Web and graphic design company and I have had my books *so* well taken care of by Natural Numbers, for years. I know my way around Quickbooks enough to be dangerous with it, and the Natural Numbers team has done a fantastic job in keeping my books up-​to-​date and accurate.
I agree with the previous poster that the key strengths you want out of a bookkeeping organization is competency and trust/​integrity. Natural Numbers has both in spades. I have never had an issue handing over all of my sensitive information (credit card numbers, bank account numbers, etc.) — and neither have the many friends and business associates that I have sent their way, who are now regular clients of NN.
What’s great about their philosophy: if they don’t get the job done by the agreed time/government’s deadlines, they pay the subsequent government penalties. They have never once been late in the entire time I’ve hired them, but it’s nice to know I have that kind of guarantee, and that I won’t be penalized.
Most bookkeepers I’ve dealt with in the past have been ok, but the owner of Natural Numbers is strangely dynamic and extremely personable — Meline doesn’t fit the typical personality of what I’d expect the «typical» bookkeeper to be. She’s very flexible and incredibly bright — I’ve seen her find solutions that are creative and adaptive to the particular business I am in.
Natural Numbers has done a bang up job in maintaining my financial records for the last 4 years, and I am happy to recommend. They advertise themselves as doing «chaos management» and they truly have managed MY financial record chaos!
