Specialties

The NE Seattle Tool Library, a project of Sustainable NE Seattle, is

a community-​led project to provide community access to a wide range of tools, training, and advice. The Tool Library aims to inspire participation in community projects and pursue sustainability through fun projects like backyard gardens, home energy improvements, food preservation, and water harvesting. We also offer classes and host community events to advance and celebrate our wonderful and unique community.

The Home Depot & Lowes should be trembling in their Chinese made boots! This is the future of home improvement, maintenance & gardening. Why maintain a basement or garage full of rarely used tools? This place has everything you’re ever going to need & it’s completely free ($ 40 suggested donation). It eliminates completely the cost & wastefulness of individual tool ownership. Wave of the future my friends!

The NE Seattle Tool Library is awesome! For a nominal membership fee, you can check borrow from a huge selection of tools. So far, I’ve borrowed a Dremel, circular saw, table saw, finish nail gun, and a metal file. Their website lists their inventory so you can get an idea of what’s available before even visiting the shop. The folks that work there are super friendly and helpful as well. Great idea!
