New32 Aesthetic & Family Dentistry

Dr. Jacobsen is friendly, efficient, and very informative… her staff is also on par with her excellent service. She was the first dentist I visited after 7 years of not seeing one and she made me feel very comfortable. I know that my teeth are in good hands!

I’ve seen both Dr. Shaw and Dr. Jacobsen for routine care and restorations. Both dentists are lovely. (I have never said that about a dentist before! Have you?) My last visit, however, really knocked my socks off. An old, leaky, and giant filling broke on the weekend, and I was able to get an appointment the following Tuesday morning. I was sure I’d need a crown, but Dr. Jacobsen spent a long time explaining the pros and cons of a crown vs filling, and why she thought she could avoid a crown. She was careful, thorough, funny, kind, empathetic and great. Then… I got home from my son’s piano lesson to a phone message from Dr. Jacobsen herself, checking to see how I was doing after the morning’s dental work. Wow! She left me two phone numbers to call if I had any concerns. I’m so impressed. And I have had no discomfort at all. Thanks Dr. Jacobsen and Dr Shaw and all the staff at New32!

The dentists are great, the hygienists are friendly and thorough. The offices are clean and modern. As someone who took several years off from seeing the dentist, I was dreading going in and getting back to routine. They made it easy, they were non-​judgmental but encouraging. I don’t have kids, but I hear they have a special day for kids appointments full of costumes and props that will make kids at ease. Clever!

I came in today for a cleaning, and Kathy and Dr. Shaw did a really great job. You can tell they care deeply about your long-​term teeth and gum health. I have braces and forgot to ask the orthodontist to remove them before the cleaning, but they were really nice about it and still did a great job cleaning while I had them on, showing me some tricks along the way. I haven’t been doing a thorough job cleaning my teeth ever since I got my braces, so it was really helpful that they give me product recommendations for my case, and let me practice flossing, brushing, etc. on the spot to make sure I get it right.

Both of these women are amazing Dentists– with fun personalities that you don’t normally find in a Dentist. :) The two dental hygienists I have had have also been wonderful. Danielle, their office manager is always super helpful and has gone above and beyond for me a few times, and it is so appreciated. I can’t recommend New 32 enough!

I don’t think they need this review, but really like this place. Very friendly, accommodating times, and they do their best to help with your nerves. Highly recommended. Great staff all around.

I normally hate the dentist. Since day one they have welcomed me into their office and made me feel so comfortable. They schedule appointments around my busy schedule and are so accommodating. I couldn’t ask for a better dentist. They know I have anxiety over the dentist and they always ask, how are you feeling is I feeling okay so far. They are so considerate. If you are looking for a dentist this is the place to go.

I hate the dentist. Hate, hate, hate.
But I love new32.
I grew up detesting cleanings, fillings, braces — the whole shabang. I had some crappy dentists that did subpar jobs. So, I ended up skipping out for six years while my oral health went downhill. Dr. Shaw was recommended by my wife, and I reluctantly went in.
The whole office — receptionist to hygienist to dentist — were beyond outstanding. Sure, they’re all pleasant… but most of all, they’re darn good at what they do.
Take it from someone who found plenty of excuses to stay away from the dentist for way too long: check out new32. You won’t be disappointed.

I take my 5 year old here and everyone is fantastic. There is a kids theme day once a month in which everyone in the office dresses up for — this makes his visit fun and exciting. My son has behavioral challenges and is very active, so being able to take him somewhere that is good with him is important. The entire staff here is great. Both Dr Shaw and Jacobson are thorough and approachable for any questions I have. I cannot say enough about how happy we are.

There aren’t many reviews on here for kids, but this place is fantastic! Our twin daughters (now 5) have been going here every six months since they were one, and each visit has been good. I really appreciate the things they’ve done to accommodate kids (costume days, toy treasure chest, TVs above dentist chairs to watch cartoons so kids can take their mind off getting a cavity filled). Clean, new office, looks like the latest equipment. Ample parking. 5 stars.

I used to dread going to the dentist. So badly that, the month before my appointment, I would already be hemming and hawing over things I might need to do during my appointment that would require me to cancel.
Then I happened across New32. The office is modern, clean, and inviting. The actual exam rooms have pull out X-​ray machines to x-​Ray your teeth while you sit in the chair — and come complete with your own tv that they can swivel out with a remote and headphones so you can catch up on the news (or real housewives *cough cough) while they do your cleaning, fillings, whatever.
Suddenly, I don’t hate the dentist anymore. Suddenly, my real housewives watching feels, dare I say, productive?
Bonus points for giving coffee gift cards to the nearby café post-​filling, as they say it helps reduce the numbness. It’s a nice touch that makes me feel a little warm and fuzzy towards my dentist– which are words I would have never expected to utter.

WOW. I cannot say enough good things about New32, Dr Shaw, and Dr Jacobsen. I’ll start with the office. The location is beyond convenient as it’s easily accessed on 25^th, free parking garage (no stress looking for a spot, and no parking validation — hello downtown dentists, get with the picture!), across from university village so you can run into the shops post-​appointment, and the office is built like a 5-​star aveda spa. All of the details are gorgeous. Now, the doctors! They are kind, personable, whip-​smart, and meticulous at their craft. I trust them with my teeth, and highly recommend that you do the same!
Call now because I guarantee this dentist is better than yours.

I truly cannot say enough good things about the dental care provided at new32.
You will feel at ease as soon as you walk through the door. Actually, you may begin to feel at ease when parking your car in the free garage provided to patients. My previous dentist was on Capitol Hill and did not have a convenient garage. I usually ended up more stressed out about parking for my appointment than the appointment itself.
Dr. Shaw and Dr. Jacobsen really are gems. Both are personable, caring, and really good at what they do. I want a dentist that is not content unless their work on me is perfect. Both Dr. Shaw and Dr. Jacobsen take pride in the care they provide and I trust that each time they have to do anything, that it is done perfectly the first time. It gets better. Before they do anything, all options are explored and the procedure is explained.
Their office staff is friendly, takes care of all of my insurance needs, sends me email reminders when an appointment is approaching or when I am due, and are happy to be flexible with appointment scheduling.
Do your teeth a favor and visit new32!

As a child my Mother took me to the Dentist every six months like clock work. I never had any problems. I hated having people stick things in my mouth but i never had one cavity or filling as a child. My Mother made us brush and floss every morning and every night. I have to be honest. I should have listened to my Mother… I should have flossed after I left home. I am a rebel all the way to my rock-​n-​roll metal heart. I have always brushed my teeth but flossing seemed so I dunno icky. So I didn’t. I had two fillings in my 20’s and both Dentists were less then personable. Flash forward to a grown woman at 44yrs old who decides her gums don’t look right and the occasional tooth pain is starting to become more frequent. And guess what, I still don’t like going to the Dentist but I make myself go.
Yep Periodontal Disease and I have it bad. My Xrays looked like I had tiny little feathers on the sides of my teeth! Now let me tell you about professional and comfortable settings. The treatment I am currently undergoing is far less then pleasant. The entire staff at New 32 understands this and is dedicated to doing everything humanly possible to make it better. I get an email and a text reminder of my appointments. There is free parking. I am greeted warmly and called by name the moment I open the door to the office. I have never waited long enough to engage a game on my iPhone :-) I am spoken to in a calm and soothing manner and told exactly what is happening on each visit. The equipment and chairs are state of the art. There are headphones and TV’s with full cable. Me? I sit back and put my arms and fingers in Lotus meditation and crank up my own music in the headphones. Yes, I still meditate to Metallica!
If I can sit back and have tartar ripped off the sides of my teeth and feel comfortable while having it done, so can you. Trust me. I don’t like it. But I understand as an adult what I need to do so I do it. I also know that had I not been treated like the Queen of England was having her teeth cleaned I may not be able to force myself back. They get that. They are just really nice people who truly want to make your Dental experience the best it can possibly be… given that they are sticking things in your mouth.
Go here. You can do it!!! Ohhh yeah and buy a Sonicare and FLOSS!
UPDATE:
It has been one year and I remain a faithful patient of Dr. Shaw and New 32. I have undergone treatment for Periodontal Disease, had a root canal and a temporary crown put in. I still need one more gum surgery and a permanent crown. I have had to delay my dental work due to a serious back injury. Dr. Shaw and her staff are so far beyond patient, understanding and helpful that I can’t even find the words to describe my gratitude. So I refer my friends and family here. I know of at least one of my friends who is also thrilled he got dental treatment from Dr. Shaw.
I run a small business and have a chronic illness. That makes me a very difficult to schedule patient and a complicated patient to treat. I have never felt anything but compassion and excellence from everyone in this office. Professionalism at its finest. A full year and I am still being treated like the most important patient in the world to them.
Lastly, I took my very scared young pregnant and soon to be daughter-​in-​law to see Dr. Shaw last week when her tooth hurt so bad she was crying. I was not surprised to watch the staff and Dr. Shaw treat her like royalty and calm her right down. Thats why I took her to New 32. Because I knew everything would be better once she was treated here. They took all the necessary precautions and explained things to us about delivering a baby while having cavities or infected teeth that I did not know. I am so glad we saw Dr. Shaw. I am not sure if this young lady would have listened to just any dentist I took her to. Now we have the knowledge we need to get her cavities addressed before my grandchild arrives. How do you ever say «Thank You» for that? For me I keep telling everyone that I have the best dentist in Seattle and I come here and tell all of you again.

The entire staff at new32 are the best. Beautiful office, state of the art equipment, but most of all friendly and professional staff that provide top notch dental care. Been going to New 32 since Drs. Jacobsen and Shaw bought out Dr. Fligor’s practice a couple years ago. I can say I actually look forward to going to the dentist now. They are all so nice… I just love them!

I absolutely LOVE New32 dental office. This is a wonderful dental office with an amazing staff. The office is beautiful, spotless clean and has all the newest technology. I saw Dr. Beth Jacobsen and she was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Jacobsen is very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely meticulous (all VERY important aspects I look for in a dentist). She recommended ZOOM bleaching prior to my wedding and I was beyond pleased with the results. Although the procedure was a little uncomfortable, they provided me with a comfy blanket as I watched my favorite TV show. Dr. Jacobsen continued to check in on me, providing me with encouragement, reassurance, and compassion. She is caring, intelligent, and very skilled.
I would highly recommend New32 and Dr. Beth Jacobsen. I live in Portland, but I plan on making trips up to see Dr. Jacobsen on a regular basis. You will NOT be disappointed by this fabulous dental office!

I am so grateful at how accomodating their office was recently with my husband’s crazy surgery schedule. They got him into their office because his tooth was killing him! That same day they saw him, they knew of his time constraints, and also referred and set him up to go straight to an endodontist to get a much-​needed root canal. All in the one single day he had available! Their compassion for him and his pain was outstanding! He’s a new man and is so appreciative.
Not to mention, Dr. Shaw called both my home-​line and cell phone to check on how my husband is doing. They are so thoughtful.
I normally abhor going to the dentist because my teeth are sensitive and even the slightest touch sends me running. However, I had a cavity filled at New32 recently and they took every single measure to make me comfortable. I got some numbing agents in order to fill the cavity, turned on some TV, and I barely even knew they were working on me! It was somewhat even «pleasant»!
Last, New32 is wonderful with my kids! And for kids to beg to go to the dentist is slightly outstanding! They not only have kids’ days, but even on regular visits, the Doctors are so patient and good with young ones. They relate to me, a busy mom, and can help ease the situation.
New32’s staff is a family favorite and even new friends. If you have to find yourself at a dentist office, then definitely find yourself here! Both doctors are sweet, skilled, and beautiful, to boot! :)

I absolutely love New 32, I have been going here for a couple of years. When I started it was Dr. Fleigor (not sure if I spelled that correctly). He was wonderful and the rest of the staff was equally wonderful.
Now he has moved and Dr. Jacobson and Dr. Shaw have taken over. They are just as wonderful! The office is clean and modern and warm. They have the latest technology and are very knowledgeable. You can watch TV while in the chair. I never wait long to go back once I have arrived. I have several issues that cause cavities to appear quickly and they are always friendly and helpful in trying to prevent them. They provide many tips for me and product recommendations. My cleanings are never painful, they are very gentle and aware of my facial expressions (in relation to discomfort). In the past this has been a problem for me, so this was a very important part of a new dentist when I was looking.
I do not think anyone likes going to the dentist, but when it is time, go to New 32, they are the best in Seattle. I actually speak so highly of it, that my out of state mum is going to be going there as she and my dad transition back into Seattle!

The people at new32 were very professional and friendly. Their office is outfitted with modern equipment; it is clean and has a comfortable waiting area, complete with activities to entertain small children.
My wait time was negligible. I was in the chair shortly after arriving and my small daughter was encouraged to accompany me.
The dentists and their staff worked well together. The environment is positive and the ladies are all careful to not cause me discomfort.
I was so impressed that I brought my mother in the next day.

OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE — dentists do not get any better than this!
I’ve always been hesitant about going to the dentist. Not because I have some irrational fear of labcoats, but because I’m rather lazy in the oral hygiene department and I always felt like I was being judged while vulnerably lying on my back with an interrogation light in my face. Dr. Shaw changed all that!
Before my first visit to New32, it had been about 5 years since seeing a dentist (BTW I’m not advocating waiting this long between visits just because Dr. Shaw is that good). I knew things weren’t good, it was like a civil war in my mouth; north vs south and all my teeth were taking casualties. After a wonderful cleaning by the hygienist, my teeth had a new lease on life — shiny and clean.
Dr. Shaw soon followed and told me I needed a filling — shocker. She explained all the procedures (as well as the reasoning behind them) and answered all of my questions very well. They were pleasant and painless. Everyone in this place is friendly, knowledgeable, and seems genuinely concerned with my level of comfort. I even received some advice on my fantasy football line up with Dr. Shaw — knows what she’s talking about!
Appointments are prompt, they email a reminder so I don’t forget, the office looks like a day spa, I just told them what insurance I had and they did the rest (they did all the legwork with those jokers)… There are too many good things to say about this place. I have recommended New32 to all of my family, friends, and co-​workers.
After I went to New32 for the first time, I was pissed; like super pissed… at all my old dentists! Why did they all suck? Why was no dentist I ever went to anything like what I experienced at New32? Not my problem anymore! Go here if you have teeth.
