We don’t understand why this restaurant doesn’t get better reviews. This place is GREAT! We frequent it 1 – 2 times per month. We have tried the green curry with chicken, red curry with chicken, pad thai (red) and spicy basil with beef and it has all been delicious! In addition, always consistent in flavor. And as an added bonus, they couldn’t be friendlier. We don’t understand why Buddha Ruksa gets all the hype. We love this place!

The Thai food here is consistent but the restaurant is a bit neglected. I usually get the Pad Kee Mao with chicken set to spice level 4 and always go away satisfied. A functional restaurant for a solid and tasty Thai meal. Great for the family but wouldn’t recommend it for a date.

I have to update my review. The ownership has since changed hands and things are heading down hill fast. I was in on Tuesday for dinner and ordered my usual Khao Soi. It was pretty bland. No mustard greens, no dark chili paste… sad excuse of its former glory. I’d give 2 starts if the service wasn’t top-​notch. They are nice but the food is sliding.

Great food, nice service. Ordered the Panang Curry, Phad Thai, and Phad asparagus, all we super yummy. The restaurant itself is very cozy and had a cool fish tank in the middle that kept my daughter busy. All in all it was excellent, which is why I am little baffled by the low score.

I actually really liked Pailin Thai. We live so close, and to be honest one of reasons why I didn’t try them earlier is because of their mediocre ratings on Unilocal.But we were feeling lazy yesterday, and I didn’t want pizza (which West Seattle is INUNDATED with, good Lord), so we said eff it. Let’s give them a try.
We ordered the basics, chicken pad thai (red), green curry (chicken), and crispy fried chicken, and a side of sticky rice, because it was our first time. We had no complaints. The fried chicken is tempura style which was a nice surprise. It was drizzled with a sauce – plum sauce, I think, and it was quite tasty.
The restaurant itself was nice, clean and QUIET. The server was super sweet. The only other Thai place we’ve eaten at out here in West Seattle was Buddha Ruska, and even though they’re supposedly hipper and whatever, my experience here at Pailin Thai was SO much better. The green curry was flavored just right; we asked for level 3 spiciness and you could actually taste the spiciness. I remember at Buddha Ruska the green curry was crazy salty with no spice (even though we asked for level 3) but here it was just right. The pad thai was plentiful, maybe a little sweet but that didn’t bother me. And the crispy tempura style chicken was nice and crunchy, and consisted of white meat chicken breast. It was also a pretty big serving. We stuffed our faces, even though we were getting full. I don’t like to take home left overs because it never tastes the same outside of the restaurant… that’s just me though.
We will be back, most definitely. It is literally a 2 min walk from our place and my only regret is that we didn’t try them sooner.

I love Palin! They are always so sweet and fast here. Very comfortable restaurant beautiful fish tank! The garlic chicken is out of this world!

Always had good luck in the past, but lately it’s really gone down hill. Tonight ordered the BBQ chicken «chef special», and what I got was far from what the description was, it was dry and terrible, I didn’t eat it. If you stick with the Thai mainstays, it’s OK, but every time I have tried a «chef special» it has been disappointing, think it’s time to find a new Thai restaurant.

Great food and service! Clean, responsive staff, reasonable prices. Everything was terrific!

Used to be quite good — truly the best Thai in West Seattle. But under the new owners,
their success in the kitchen is muted… it’s not as good as with the old management…
unfortunately, by a long shot. The very slow service (while being friendly and charming) does not help matters …

We get Thai to go often here. Flavors are great, spices are just right.
We call first and it’s always ready.

I am rooting for Pailin. We’ve been customers for about 20 years.
Food just didn’t seem to get any better with the new owners. In fact, the Thai Beef Jerky that was a signature dish is little more than a light beef lime salad now. The Chicken Swimming Rama came with raw spinach and not blanched. Other dishes were pretty good, but we ordered everything 4 star spicy and it all wound up barely a two. The people there when I picked up the order were very, very nice but didn’t really know the dishes when I asked if the Thai Beef Jerky had changed and even asked the «chef», who indicated the dish hadn’t changed with the new owners.
We’ll probably be back, but it may be a while to give them a chance to figure it out, then we’ll try again.

What a local gem! I have eaten here no less than 10 times. Each and every time the food has been excellent. I usually get the seafood platter. Fresh and great portion!
The service has always been excellent! I am always dumbfounded when I read that their dinner took 10 minutes to be served or that the waitress ignored them. You know people, sometimes establishments get busy. It is not a science! Maybe for all of those impatient people, they should go to a very unpopular place where they can be the center of the universe!

Our go to Thai place. They will make you anything you request so ask for authentic! Anyone leaving low remarks doesn’t know how to order. Love love the owner! He is a beautiful soul and wants to make you happy!

I had a birthday dinner with my family and two other friends at Pailin.
We ordered quite a bit of food selection. we had Crispy basil chicken (Chef’s special), Kao Soi (Noodle special), Phad Bai graplao (Basil Chicken), Chicken Satay, Potsticker and their Pad Thai. and all of these were just so great… The portion is very generous, the taste is very authentic and the service was excellent…
I would really recommend this place to West Seattle local neighborhood. It’s too bad we live in Kent — otherwise, this will be our go to place for Thai food!

Swimming Rama with chicken was the kiddo’s choice, and she ate every last bit of it.
Though I haven’t been here in years, and was happy to see it still open when the kiddo and I ventured to West Seattle for a late night screening of the original HALLOWEEN at the Admiral. We wandered down the block and lo! This place was still here.
We were only one of two tables, which was odd, and it was pretty cold inside the restaurant. But the food came out fresh and hot and we almost ate everything. The service was adequate.

Had the Pailin Special noodle — stir fried thin rice noodles with mixed vegetables topped with peanut sauce. It was ok.
My friend had the Tom Yum Gai, was also just ok.
The service was extremely friendly and the fish tank is pretty. But probably won’t go back.
