Perfect Copy & Print

went to get my passport photo done. it’s the worst passport photo I have ever had. not only it is not unusable because it was blurry and bleached out but they also got the order number wrong. avoid.

My printer broke and I live close by so when I came here to print a shipping label I ended up paying $ 2.98 for a single piece of paper as they add 50 cents for credit cards. I repeat. One sheet of black and white paper cost me $ 3.talk about throwing away money. Definitely going somewhere else next time.

This Place is inconsistent. Also, if their printer does a bad job. you still get charged. I made the mistake of doing a bulk order here where the image looked terrible. I was still charged and made to feel like it was my fault, that I had a bad scan job. I took it to another printing place (as the work I received from them was unsellable) and they did an amazing job.
I don’t want to be overly offensive here but seriously… Fuck perfect copy and print.

I contacted Perfect Copy and Print for an Urgent print job and WOW did they deliver! The reports were expertly completed and made my VP very happy. The employees were professional and efficient.

Staff didn’t seem that willing to work with me and the finished product looked unprofessional.

I hardly ever complain — especially about small, individually owned stores. But this experience was just so crazy I feel like others should be aware. I was just charged $ 8 just for the «service fee» of typing 1 word into a computer and printing it on 1 sheet of labels for a total of 2 minutes of help. The background: I called to price a sheet of labels and explained what I wanted. I was told it would be around $ 1.75. I walked over and was greeted at the door by an employee asking if I needed help. I said sure and explained what I needed and told I had just called. He said he could help and had me write down the 1 word I needed printed: «adventures». He walked over to his computer to type it in, then pressed print. This all took him at most 2 minutes. He was ringing me up and said «that’ll be $ 9.63». I was floored! I said when I called they priced me under $ 2. He said yeah, but our service charge is $ 8. I said you only helped me for 2 minutes and all you did was type a word and pressed print. He just repeated «$ 8 is our service charge» and shrugged his shoulders. I told him I think they should be a bit more transparent that 2 minutes of help will equal $ 8 in charges. He only shrugged. So, I guess if they won’t warn their customers of these prices, then we’ll need to let each other know. Do they really charge $ 240/​hour for helping their customers? I fully understand if it was a project or something requiring artistic or skilled talent then charging customers for a service fee is appropriate (after you give them an idea of what the fee will be). But typing a word into a computer, putting 1 sheet of labels into a printer, and pressing print doesn’t seem like $ 8 of work to me. At the very least, after you ask me if I need help, give me a heads up that it’ll cost me if I say yes. It seems many other reviewers have been caught off guard by their ridiculous prices, so consider yourself warned.

If you know another place to make international photo, don’t come here!
First, for two pictures they take wooping $ 20.
Second, I asked to make sure the picture fits UK visa requirements (as the photo looked suspicious: only head was on it, no shoulders), and the answer I got was: «we do a lot of pictures, this one is good». When I measured the height of the head, it was 2 mm higher than maximum required. When I asked to reduce the size, the representative told me I’d have to pay for that as for the additional picture or he’ll return the money and get back the pictures.
Don’t remember last time I had such a horrible customer service, and that is for $ 20 pictures.

Printing Services are all not alike.
I had already been to a few different Kinkos in a three day span to print out color copies. They were fine. Not bad but just there. I rushed into Perfect Printing because it was close. I was thrilled with the price. It was HALF THE PRICE Kinkos charged. I was already sold and expecting the same type of copies. As I picked up the first copy I almost started crying. After making hundreds of copies that had the look and feel of being done at home on a inkjet. These self serve copies came out on good quality paper with the colors and detailing just popping. It had the look and feel of a custom glossy print job.
I would tell people to run don’t walk if you need print work done!

I used the computer for 30 seconds to print out one b/​w page. It was about $ 2.14
I don’t know if I want to pay this much every time I need just one or two pages.

I’ve used these guys for many years since they were on John st. I used them to print 500+ leaflets. I used them when I had to put together a last minuet letter for the VA. They helped me make clean copies of documents I had to send for a credit review’ They staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable, in fact the manager has been there since they were on John st. This last weekend I had to put together some pictures poster size of an accident. The guys were absolutely perfect in producing my pictures and won my case. Thank you Perfect Copy.

I used to like this place. The staff is still nice, the service great and fast, but it’s no longer affordable.
I prefer to support local business. But now I’m thinking I’ll go to FedEx/​Kinkos for simple print requests. Perfect Copy & Print has an outrageous price structure for e-​mailed print requests. I e-​mailed them an 8 page pdf, asked for the cheapest option. This job cost $ 5.80 ($ 6.36 after tax). Over $ 6 for 8 black and white pages. I asked about cheaper options for basic printing. Their machines don’t take thumb drives (Kinkos machines do). You can pay to log on to their computer and then print at .20/​page, but with the cost of using their computer, I’m still looking at over $ 3.00 for 8 pages.
Here’s the thing, PCP. I understand you gotta survive in Capitol Hill and have to charge accordingly. But you can’t gouge customers on small transactions like this. It costs almost nothing in paper and toner to print 8 pages. It costs you almost nothing in employee time for someone to open a pdf and click print. I could do that in 30 seconds. You should find a way to make small orders affordable. Get machines that accept thumb drives, or simply go by the copy rate .20/​page for jobs like this. Add a dollar convenience fee for opening the e-​mail if you like. If you make customers happy with small jobs like this, they’ll go to you for big jobs and expect to pay more. Otherwise, you’ll drive them to support big chains like Kinkos.

the people here are great!
I have had a manuscript or three printed out here, banners, giant signs, and flyers, and t-​shirts, all sorts of things since I started using them in 1990 for my business. .
They do stellar work, and are very patent with weird requests.
I like the way the owner treats the people who work there.
He is serious, but fair, not a Martinet like some bosses.
The workers then tend to stay for many years, as he creates a reasonably happy work atmosphere. That also means you have professionals handling your project… not someone who is just dialing it in. And if they make a mistake, they own up to it, and
don’t charge you for it.
Great guys. I would give them six stars if I could.

I was here for a passport photo. The service is nice and fast. More importantly, it takes good photos. I have been to another place where the person take photos I couldn’t use. Nice shop. Will come back again.

An absolute scam, beginning to end. Go elsewhere!
Debated between here (marginally closer) and Fedex Office (Kinko’s) down the hill at the Convention Center. I chose poorly.
I simply wanted to print 15 copies from a USB drive. Though the printers are all equipped with USB readers, this copy shop has chosen to disable them so they can charge for computer time instead. Here, they charge $ 2.00 for 1 second to 10 minutes of computer time. I was on the computer for 36 seconds. At FedEx, I would have been charged about 40 cents.
Then, the printing cost. Everywhere is posted the cost of copying, so I used that in my calculations. When I took my 15 prints (which came out of the copier, by the way) to the front desk, they charged me $ 0.25 per print for the first then, $ 0.15 after. Had I printed one, walked it over to the copier, and copied the remaining 14, I would have saved $ 3.00. Copies are less than $ 0.10, but only if they come from a paper document, not the computer. They don’t notate that anywhere. There’s no logical reason: it uses the same amount of toner, it puts the same amount of wear on the machine, and there is only a very minor data transfer. Absurd and fraudulent.
At FedEx Kinkos, it would have been $ 0.08 per copy, and about $ 0.40 for computer time. I would not have needed a computer. I could have printed directly from the machine.
Here = $ 5.75. FedEx Kinkos for the same job, $ 1.05. Never will I return. I will hoof it to FedEx Kinkos and avoid this rip-​off palace.
I assume they charge these extortionate prices because they were trying to pay the four clerks on shift. One person would have sufficed. There were only three of us customers, all with minor jobs.
AVOID!

Nothing «perfect» about the printouts. They can’t print an actor headshot to save their lives and their rude, and insulting, «blame the customer» attitude is out-​of-​control. The people at Office Depot are way nicer.

This place is great. Friendly and helpful staff, fast turn around time, and quality printing! Lucy and Faustino helped me print a graphic design portfolio from a PDF — they were so patient with me — I really didn’t know what I was doing. I even called them in the evening and Faustino helped me with exporting an InDesign file that I was having problems with on my home computer. I picked up my portfolio today and the printing and binding is immaculate! Thank you guys!

Around finals time, my group for Grad School had a 30 page book we had to turn in. I wanted something that was simple but done quickly since, like many grad students, we didn’t finish this book up until around noon that day. I called these guys, emailed them the file, told hem how I wanted it bound and that I could be there at 4 to pick it up. It looked perfect, they were so kind and easy to deal with. If you need help these guys are AWESOME! THANK YOU!!!

This is absolutely the best print shop I have been to. Every time I show up, they are able to accommodate my time lines. Frequently when I need things turned around same day, they deliver.
In addition, they are experts with print. The brochures and business cards I’ve printed here are always colorful and clean.
Finally, the staff is amazing. Faustino and his team go out of the way to make sure things are simple for you. They are great at listening and will even share advice with you about your designs.
A+, will be back to print more soon!

This place truly beats out Kinkos and FedEx. I have been coming here for years to both their old and new location and the staff is always very helpful and patient. There are self serve stations which I often get confused by, but the people working there never seem to mind helping with even the silliest questions. Passport photos, copies, faxing, they have it all.

Your milage may vary at Perfect Copy & Print. I have had interactions there that I would give five stars to, and I’ve walked in on days where it was crowded, understaffed, and the person working the floor had no idea what they were doing. I left and came back during another shift.
The more prepared you are and the less you need from their staff, the happier you will be. If you don’t need to make a large number of color copies, you might be sad to see the $ 1 computer use charge doubling your bill. It is worth it to condence all your copy and printing activities to one trip so you don’t have to pay the minimum computer use fee multiple times.
There seems to be a pretty steep learning curve with the staff here. Some of the new people don’t seem to know how to use the machines, and spend more time chit-​chatting with eachother than helping people.
That being said, the veteran employees are great. They have always been helpful, explained things well, and got me in and out fast.
Don’t go in the mid-​afternoon — it is their busiest time and you’ll get the worst service.
