Yippee-ki-yay! Kelly possesses the requisite skills that undoubtably qualify her as an expert. Shortly after my last cut, get this, unsolicited, my teenage daughter actually complimented me without asking to typical follow-up question: «can I have $ 100 bucks?» Prior to Kelly, I disliked haircuts because, invariably, I’m stuck with Chatty Katy & Assistant Motor Mouth. Good news — Kelly is entertainingly hilarious without an assistant. Better news, she knows how to transform a mediocre man into … well … a man that gets compliments from teenage girls. Jokes aside, since moving from suburban purgatory to downtown, I’ve struggled to find a suitable replacement for my former stylist of 10 years — Ms. Helen Keller. Funny, irreverent, and talented — once you go [to] Kelly, you cannot go back.

I called Kelly on a Saturday desperate for a hair cut and she agreed to see me Sunday morning. She is funny, engaging and friendly, not least because we share the same birthday. I have a gamine, super short hair cut and its so easy to get it wrong. Kelly reshaped it and cut it without resorting to products and a blow dry to make it look good. I look younger and much more chic, and you really can’t ask more of a hair cut than that! Love her and will definitely return.

I’ve been going to see Kelly here for two years, and she’s the only person I’d ever trust with my hair now. She’s super attentive to detail, and I adore her for it. Wonderful service, great people, super convenient location downtown. Highly recommend this place to everyone.

I was in town for a few days and didn’t know where to turn for a hair cut, which my hair was screaming it needed. Called and they got me in within an hour. Cut by Peggy who was fantastic!!! I have a big mop-head that she tamed and made as perfect as my hair can get. She’s very nice ta boot! Really liked the vibe, too. Quaint shop and not pretentious. Thank you!!!

Kelly was my walk-in stylist while I was visiting Seattle. I could not have had better luck running into her! She was so friendly and genuine and told me everything she wanted to do to give me the look I didn’t even know I wanted! I have long hair that had terrible split ends and she did not cut off more than I requested. She gave me the most beautiful V shape with sexy ends that flowed beautifully. If I lived in Seattle she would be my go to girl!

Literally Kelly is amazing! Her energy is great and you can tell how precise she is, and when it comes to a hairstylist I want a perfectionist! Prices are great and I look forward to my next hair cut! She really knows what she is doing, plus she gives great ideas if you are thinking about changing your look. Her professionalism and high spirits make her my favorite hairstylist! I refuse to see anyone else after seeing her! I highly recommend her and if you read other reviews you will see that others do to:)

I have lived in Seattle for 2 years now and have spent this whole time looking for a good hair place. What I mean by that is someone that I can always go to while I live here. I am Latin and my hair shows it. It is long, dark, think and there is A LOT of it. It has a wavy texture that allows me to do both straight or curly. I work and travel a lot so low maintenance is key. I went to Gene Juarez and tried a couple of people there, They ranged from $ 65 to $ 90 plus tip. While non were terrible hair cuts, considering the price, I wasn’t impressed. Then I decided to do research and found Kelly at Peter Lopez. I read the reviews about how she was«the best thing that has happened to my hair.» So I tried her and I can’t tell you how much I agree with it. I just got a hair cut. But I explained my problem and what I wanted. She explained why the problems were happening and what she could do to fix it. I am never going to anyone else again. Once I get color Ill report back on that.

I was visiting Seattle for my boyfriends Christmas party. I really wanted to get my hair colored at the last minute so I found Peter Lopez salon on Unilocal and gave it a chance. I got an appointment for the time I wanted, my appointment was with Kelly. When I called I had asked how much for a color she told me 60.00 wow that is so cheap for color. I got there and I told Kelly exactly what I wanted I was going red a very hard color to successfully get correct! Kelly aced my color. She ended up having to do a two step color process but she nailed it! When my color was done she styled my hair and I asked her how much did I owe her assuming that because we did a two step process it would be more than what she quoted me on the phone. She said I told you 60.00 so that’s what I will charge you. WOW! On top of that she gave me her personal cell number to call her if I had any problems with the color while I was visiting Seattle. I had a great experience at Peter Lopez Salon. Thanks Kelly

Darn it! Now I’m going to have to drive to Seattle every time I need a haircut. In a fit of desperation and absolute«I’m a month and a half overdue» need for a haircut, I searched Unilocal for a quick fix. Another Unilocaler wrote a review for Kelly. I took a chance, made a call and had an appt. at my desired time. The haircut is perfect. I’ve had haircuts almost as good at twice the price. Great job, Kelly! Ill be back!

I was in urgent need of a hair cut having just landed in Seattle, so I did a little research and took a chance by dropping in to the Peter Lopez salon to see if I could be seen as a walk-in. I was greeted by Kelly, who fit me in at 7pm, which was perfect for me, it gave me just over an hour to eat beforehand. I had been traveling so much that I hadn’t been able to meet with my regular stylist back home. I am very picky about my stylist, about who cuts my hair, so I was a little nervous. When I came back to my appointment and sat in my chair, I felt relieved, because I knew instantly I was in the chair of a professional, but not just any professional, an Artist. I loved every moment with Kelly. She listened to me, she took time to talk with me about my hair concerns and hair care, and she gave me a style that I didn’t know I craved, until I had it. She is phenomenal. I felt that she really«got me» and my personality and gave me a cut that flattered me and my energy the most. I loved the space, the price and the loviliness of it all! Thanks!

Looking for a fabulous cut that takes YOU into consideration? Someone who actually listens to what you want, but who also offers some insightful suggestions? Don’t walk — RUN to see Kelly, an awesome soul who is an artist(especially if you have some Asian genes in your hair follicles!). She’s a great listener, is an amazing young lady, and knows her stuff. Take it from someone who is very fussy and nervous at letting someone do anything with her hair, Kelly will do right by you. Got a fantastic cut that made this 50+ lady feel sassy & sexy and a partial that discreetly toned down the grey. Thanks, Kelly! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Seattle!

Tiny little shop tucked into the street, but boy do I love this place. All the hairdressers are super friendly and welcoming, and the salon has big windows/glass doors, which make it seem bigger than it is. The view overlooks the garden by the metro tunnel on second, so I always leave peaceful and relaxed by the time the appointment is over. Kelly is the best thing that has ever happened to my hair. I get compliments on her cuts regularly(even when I roll out of bed with zero styling, because let’s face it, that’s nearly every day of the week). I have long, thick, texturally fine hair with a bit of wave. Kelly can cut it so it behaves, no special hair dryers or rollers or brushes required. And she’s cost competitive with any other hairdresser I’ve ever tried. I’ve referred all my friends to her, and I hope they take me up on it, too — although I’m not looking forward to having to schedule my haircuts weeks in advance when the rest of Seattle realizes how good she is!

I’ve tried a bunch of different salons in Seattle, and this is the only that I’ve been consistently happy with. I see LoAnn, who does an awesome job(she’s my go-to stylist.) She’s also very good about scheduling flexibly, often accommodating day-of appointments. As for Peter, one time when LoAnn was not available, he offered to cut my hair instead. He did a fantastic job; he’s clearly knowledgeable and accomplished in his field. Although his standard rate is higher than LoAnn’s, in a gesture of customer service he charged me her rate instead for the haircut. I’ve always walked out of here happy.

I initially went to Peter Lopez Salon for a haircut, and have stayed not just for the great styles I have received, but for their color work as well. The stylists counseled me about what I wanted and made some wonderful suggestions. They really listen and are not happy until I’m happy. Great downtown location right across the street from Benaroya.
