I was a little hesitant to try this place after reading such mixed reviews but I am SOHAPPY I did. The girl working was in the back when I got there but was more than happy to stop what she was doing and come help — when I told her I was new to the area she was super sweet and chatted with me the whole time she made my sandwich. Some one that I assume is a regular showed up while I was there and the place clearly has a solid reputation in the community and a really good vibe about it. They were out of the rolls they typically use so she split my large order into two separate sandwiches, I’m almost positive I walked away with more sandwich than I should have. And oh my god, this cheesesteak is hands down the best I’ve ever had, no joke. Amazing food, good people, will definitely go back.

These cheesesteaks are delicious here. They are large, well priced, lots of meat, peppers, mushrooms, cheese of your choice. Their crinkle fries are also absolutely delicious and very, very fresh. There is plenty of space for dining but you order your food at the counter. The staff is very friendly and know what they are doing. Have only been once but expect to make it a frequent stop.

Don’t come here if you are in a hurry. These sandwiches better be crazy good because it’s been 22 minutes with 2 customers in the shop we ordered 3 sandwiches and still waiting! Me gracious! Three stars hoping it’s worth the wait. Update later!

DISCLAIMER: FOODIS4STARS, SERVICEWOULDBE0STARSIFPOSSIBLE. When I first walked in, a woman was sitting at the counter on her phone. She greeted us(while still sitting and on her phone) The place was dead but figured she was maybe a friend of someone working because she wasn’t getting up or looked interested that there were customers. After looking at the menu, we were ready to order. Still sitting on her phone, she asked if we were ready. We ordered two of the simplest sandwiches on the menu and this is where the customer service goes down hill. She felt the need to let out a loud sigh as she said«I’ll have it right out». She still didn’t budge while being on her phone after saying that. My boyfriend and I sat down at the counter that’s right next to the stove and kitchen. A minute after she took our order, she finally got up to make our food. As she begins making our food I see so many red flags… — She doesn’t put on gloves to prepare our food. She’s using her unwashed, bare hands to touch our cheese, sandwich bun, meat and everything else. How do we know where her hands were before making our food? — She was never really friendly at the start, and she’s making it seem like she’s more doing us a favor then being helpful and kind. — She gives us our food and doesn’t feel the need to check on us or ask how it is. No small talk what so ever. More felt like we were bothering her while being there. Another thing was while we were eating, two guys came in to order. After they order, she signed so loud and long, it was more then obvious she was annoyed. I still observed her as she made their food. — Still, NOGLOVESBEINGUSEDWHILEPREPARINGFOOD. And the gross part was I saw her SCRATCHHERHEADANDTHENTOUCHTHECHEESEANDBREAD. Disgusting. — She was throwing things around and slamming things as if she’s annoyed. Maybe this woman didn’t have a good day, but there is no need to take it out on customers. I work customer service and there’s no way any of my upper management would tolerate that. THEFOODWASAMAZING. The meat was tender and seasoned perfectly. Though prepared without gloves, is why I rated 4 instead of 5, it was still good. Over all, the food is great. But even though it was delicious, I won’t be coming back because of very poor service.

I have to say this is one of the best Philly cheesesteaks that I’ve ever had. I went with the mushroom and cheese and I virtually inhaled it. The fries were good and plenty, but nothing special; they do have other toppings like cheese for the fries if you want. Wouldn’t judge the staff: I was pretty sure she didn’t care about my order at first, but then she produced one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The location itself is nothing to write home about and I imagine that most people get there food to go.

Best cheesesteaks in Seattle! Service can be hit and miss. But the food makes up for it.

The meat was tasty and tender, seasoned well. The roll was kinda soggy as it wasn’t toasted, at least it didn’t seem like it. But the biggest complaint is about the service. One person working at lunch time. Are you kidding me? She wasn’t overwhelmed with customers, which is good because she wasn’t in too much of a hurry. But she had to run the cc machine and cook, all without a single hand washing. Yuk. Place was dirty and the cutting board looks like it was pulled from a swamp. The food was ok, but the rest of this operation sucks.

Have spent time in Philly and know a great cheese steak when I have one and this wasn’t it – took it to go which compounded the greasiness factor. Had to eat it with a knife and fork as result. Meat and bread were meh. Had it with mushrooms and could have used more of those. Service was fine. Will continue to look for the elusive tasty cheese steak in Seattle.

Best philly cheesesteaks ever! This place has awesome food, and the chefs are really great once you get to know them. Make sure you try your cheesesteak on fries, and choose your steak carefully because the wide variety of ingredients may fit different palettes.

It’s hard to find a good cheesesteak, especially in Seattle, where people tend to hold mediocre offerings in under-represented restaurant genres in high esteem. Tat’s is a place held on a pedestal, but anyone from Philly will tell you that their best pales in comparison to the average Philly cheesesteak. Fevre is quieter due to its out of the way location(corner where John and Madison meet), but takes a lot more pride in its Philly heritage with Philly posters and news clips all over the walls. The menu itself is simple and straightforward. There’s a handful of sandwich varieties to choose from, a handful of sides and a few drink options. The staff is often preoccupied as they prepare meals with great care, but they’re nice and cool once they get around to helping you. The mushroom cheesesteak itself was clearly prepared with care and was as greasy and adventurous a meal as I expect a good cheesesteak to be. I enjoyed it and the crispy run of the mill crinkle cut fries that I got with it. That said, the $ 14+tip was a bit much for a cheesesteak that wasn’t much different from the $ 8 cheesesteaks you can get with fries at the mall’s food court. Maybe if I had gotten one of the more exotic varieties, like the cheese wiz steak or the pizza steak or an authentic hoagie, the price may have been worth it. Don’t get me wrong: I liked it, the service was good and the posters created a neat environment. But if I had to pick a place to spend $ 15 on a meal I’m not sure this would be high on my list… unless I really wanted a hoagie or a pizza steak.

Bring cash or you’ll get charged extra. This review is based on my service not the food. I’ve been going to this place since I lived down the street and it was always delicious. I came in for a quick go to meal last week and paid with my debit card. The machine ran out of the paper so the guy who was running it ran to get some more receipt paper. I realized he ran it before it ran out and noticed he ran it again… it didn’t cross my mind then, but after a couple of days I looked at my statement and noticed I got charged extra with the second transaction adding a few more dollars to what I signed for when I paid. Sketchy! Unbelievable. Hey buddy, if you think I was cheap, think again… I gave you a cash tip in that big ass plastic jar on the counter top! Don’t think I’ll be using my card there anytime soon or even coming back for that matter.

BF and I agree this is the best cheesesteak in Seattle. We’re from the east coast where this sandwich is a comfort food staple. Anyway, I always liked this shop, but recently it went under new management. Serepticiously I met the new owner who described his new vision and janitorial regimen. The food is actually better now. I recommend ‚“the fevre,” and onion rings. This will feed two for under $ 15. Ive actually been to both Pats and Genos in Philly and this is better. Plus, you wont have to take your life in your hands to visit. Apparently, they have a place in renton that has expanded their concept to southern style stuff.

Sunday afternoon solo lunch in the neighborhood. Order your food at the counter and take a seat up above in one of the booths. 10 minutes later and after reading The Stranger and watching some TV with Asian language captions, the guy brings my food back. Mushroom steak, crinkle fries and a self-serve soda. The meat is seasoned nicely, plentiful, juicy and just greasy enough. Generous serving of perfectly cooked and piping hot fries. The bad thing: kinda lame stadium hot dog rolls. Would have preferred something a little more substantial. A filling meal for $ 13 out the door. Street parking kind of tight, but I was able to find a spot around the corner on the hill.

I’m a Philadelphian. I spent most of my life there. Anyone from the Philly metro area will tell you that you can’t get a Philly cheesesteak this far away from Philly. Even if they use the right kind of meat(I had one restaurant put cheese on a salisbury steak and call it a day!) they can’t get the right kind of cheese, and if they get the right meat and cheese, they won’t get the roll right. I’ll tell you, this is as close to a Philly cheesesteak as you can get without importing Amoroso rolls. The bread has the right consistency, they get the cheese right, the meat is cooked to perfection. I’ve only been here a couple times, but each time I’ve been in I’ve been really happy with the service. The staff’s friendly but won’t bother you if you’re reading something. Your food gets done quickly. FYI: the fries are perfect here. It made me a little homesick.

This humble-looking shop was amazing!!! To start with, the young man working there was more than helpful with suggestions and advice for my husband’s cheesesteak — hubby was concerned that his level of spiciness would be disappointing like other restaurants that we have been to. Our host was very detailed in explaining their most popular preparation for those who like it hot, and his suggestion was spot-on! We also used a certificate with no problems. Loved the food, loved the service… and since they have a punch card for a free one after 10 purchases we DO plan on returning! Yum!

As a tri-state expat, this place really hits the spot. Cheesesteaks are pretty consistent with East coast standards, they might even be meatier. The«hoagies» aren’t great, so stick to the steaks. I went four instead of five stars because the rolls are lacking. Oh, and the crummy décor actually adds to the experience for me.

I really Really want to like this place, they are sure need it. Nice little lady works all job all by herself, trying to make it as a small business. … But this is food review. Star for nice big place with planty of seating. Star for $ 5 off certificate for me to try the food.( ) Burnt! That grill has not been clean for ages, all I can smell is burnt food. Germs can not grow on that, I hope. I took my food to go, my car smell burnt food. Bun was large gummy hotdog bun. Steak was dried, came with no sauce, Hunt all around my car for left over taco bell sauce x 5. Mushroom was nice and yummy. Feel sorry for other that have pay $ 9.00 + to choke down this mess.

I had high hopes for this place. I love a philly, it’s right down the street from me, and they have cheese wiz as an option. Called in my order ahead, showed up a little early and got to see my order prepared on the open cooktop. This is when it got a little… unsettling. 1. The cook was the cashier. Did she wash her hands after handling money? No. Did she wash or even rinse her hands after handling raw meat? No. Did she take breaks from cooking to stare blankly at daytime talkshows on the tv? Yup. 2. My order is ready! GREAT! I hand her my card and she tells me then that they are out of credit card machine paper… can’t use my card. Unfortunately my cash stash is short as I usually just use my debit card(BECAUSEITISTHETWENTYFIRSTCENTURY! YES!!! I LOVETECHNOLOGY!). Anyway… I suck it up even though I just knew my food was going to get cold as I ran to the nearest ATM several blocks away. 3. I get back with cash in hand. Tip her(with no thanks at all from her) and am out the door. 4. I get home… The onion rings: BURNT. I’m not talking dark. I’m talking BURNT. WTF! The cheesesteak was really good. Overall…the experience was shitty. Despite the tasty cheese steak(best I’ve had in Seattle), I’m not sure that I’ll return.

3 points for best hoagie in town. Spiecally the mixed pepper steak. — 2 points for filthy cockroach infested restaurant and angry serve staff.
