This place is awesome if you don’t mind fumbling around the store. Would you like Sriracha sauce for $ 3 instead of $ 6 from QFC? Then you should shop at Ping’s market. It has all the asian condiments and staples you could want.

Not too bad. Really handmade style dumplings and pot sticker. Lamb skewers are not same tasty with Beijing China, It’s wet when served and not Charcoal Grilled and

If you want plastic aesthetics and overly-priced Americanized Asian food, go to P.F. Chang’s. If you want tremendously delicious, hand made, authentic Chinese food regardless of the setting, go to Ping’s. We found the joint(it fits all the definintional requirements of a joint) on the web following the Pike’s Market Christmas tree lighting. The food was SO fabulously good! A full dinner for three adults plus a toddler was $ 30 and worth much more. The older gentleman cannot speak English — just point to what you want on the menu and he will provide it with a warm smile. The proprietress is the heart of the restaurant and runs a good ship.

To start, the place is filthy and the water tasted terrible. I ordered two plates of dumplings, one pork and cabbage, One beef and yellow onion. One was fine. The other was unpalatable. After a few bites I was ready for my check. Communicating with the staff if impossible unless you speak Chinese. But the worst part of the whole experience was the stomach ache I got after… literally the worst stomach ache I’ve had in my life. An all around awful experience. If you’re feeling like dumplings, do yourself a favor and get some dim sum down the street.

Delicious xiao long bao(XLB) with hearty broth on the inside! I slurped happily. :) This is a special for Saturdays and Sundays so be sure to stop by during the weekend — in my opinion much better than Din Tai Fung!

I’m making this my pre– Sounders dinner spot. And any excuse to go there spot. This lovely lady and her adorable old man helper(heads up, English is not his first language) serve up boiled dumplings(jiaozi) in the way that will bring back your memories of quiet meals gulping down incredibly delicious, cheap, jiaozi down some sunny side street in Qingdao. The dumplings are served with thin, black vinegar ginger dipping sauce. It is strong, but tasty. For $ 5, your 12 dumplings are a steal. Even better, she’s got frozen ones to take home in the freezers next door. Tons and tons of homemade jiaozi in quite a few interesting flavors. I like the lamb ones best. I wish I had some jiaozi right now.

UPDATE: I recently returned to Ping’s and got a dozen of the pork and chive dumplings and they were quite good and a great value. Definitely a good option if you get a hankering for dumplings. ORIGINALREVIEW: This little dumpling market/restaurant us connected to a small asian food market. The décor is, well, more interesting than comfortable. One wall sports three huge diagonal stripes, red, yellow, and black. There are lots of interesting things on menu, which also informs you that the cuisine is representative of Qindao in Northern China. It was a cold day and I was already thinking that since the dumplings come 12 to an order, it would be better to come back with a couple friends and sample all the different kinds. So I opted for the lunch special which offers you a choice between three different kinds of porridge(congee) with an accompanying large dumpling. I chose the Droplet Noodle Porridge(think spatzle or small american style dumpling in soup) and the pork and chive pocket. The porridge had some pork, dried shrimp, egg threads, cellophane noodles, and cilantro in it and at first was quite tasty but then I noticed that some of the bottom of the pan must have been slightly charred and the porridge started tasting more and more like charcoal with each bite. The pork and chive ‘pocket’, was similar to a pan fried chive pancake but thicker and smaller in diameter and stuffed with pork and chives. Unfortunately the pork filling was a little bland and the ‘pocket’ breading was slightly too oily. The people at the table next to me all seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the wide assortment of dumplings they had ordered which made me a little disappointed with my choices. I will have to go back with reinforcements and try the dumplings. I guess it was silly of me not to just go straight to the specialty of the house…

The frozen dumplings here are fantastic, not as delicious as the ones Mom makes, but so convenient and delicious.

I got the jajiangmien and the dumplings; both were cheap, but tasted merely okay. The dumplings were really soupy and the filling had an odd, overly soft texture; also, the dumpling skins and the noodles were overcooked. The dumpling sauce has a ton of vinegar in it. The jajiangmien sauce was nice, but nothing fantastic.

Excellent food, I’ve been here four times in the past couple of weeks and have been extremely pleased every time. The short ribs with goji berries are incredible, as are any of the dumplings. So far this is my favorite place to grab lunch, the prices are great and everything is made fresh.

The 35 cents per dumpling sign caught my eye and brought me to this new mini-mart and eatery. On the left you’ll find Asian groceries including their handmade frozen dumplings. On the right side you can order dumplings, steamed buns(pork or veggie), Chinese donuts and tea eggs. There are a few tables for diners. The Chinese woman who owns the shop makes all the dumplings and buns. She mentioned that the kitchen wasn’t finished yet but once it was, she would offer an expanded menu. Also, she emphasized that buns should be steamed, not microwaved and that I knew how to cook the dumplings. I was impressed by the variety of dumplings she makes, including veggie, pork with green beans, pork with eggplant, lamb, fish, shrimp, pork with napa cabbage and more. They’re in plastic bags with 50 dumplings per bag but you can ask for a smaller increment. * Tea egg(75 cents): very salty, needs more sugar or less soy? * Steamed pork bun: dough wasn’t light and fluffy, pork bits dried out and without much flavor, had clear bean thread noodles too, not so good * Lamb dumplings($ 19 for 50): ground lamb with finely minced Chinese chives, quite juicy and lamby(= tasty), not too salty, the homemade wrappers added a nice chewiness but I noticed some wrappers were broken before I even cooked the dumplings So far the food has been hit or miss. It seems safer to get the dumplings.

Anywhere I can buy a huge bag of frozen Xiao Long Bao gets five stars from me regardless of what else they do or do not sell, though admittedly I did pick up some nice dark black«Shanxi mature vinegar» and some premium Japanese sesame oil(according to the owner the Japanese brand was«superior») ;-) *I also had some delicious pork dumplings though admittedly the restaurant aspect of this shop isn’t fully open yet, and I think they also go by Ping’s Dumpling House as well. Can’t wait for them to open then they’ll be serving fresh made Xiao Long Bao!

Killer, killer, killer lunch deal. You can’t beat 12 humongous dumplings for $ 4.68. Seriously?! Seriously. The owner laughed when I ordered ice water instead of drinking the tea, being the ABC that I am(A stands for Arabian, hilariously). But in a nice way. She went over the menu with me, and was happy when I picked out the pork and napa cabbage dumplings. They were SO good and filling, and the sauce that came with it was homemade and VERY garlicky. The owner was so hospitable and warm, I felt like an aunt was feeding me until the bill came. Ah, reality. I want to try their beef noodle dish next. I love me some Northern Chinese comfort food!

The dumplings were great. They came with a garlic sauce that was made right then that was amazing. And the people were really friendly, and for $ 5 I got a very filling meal.

The sign for 35 cent dumplings drew us in. Hand made and then frozen, you can get just a couple to a whole freaking lot of them if you wish. I also got made fun of for not being an overall fan of pork and getting the beef ones instead… but in a friendly manner, they were not being mean about it at all. I’ll be back after eating them, cuz good fucking hell they were glorious delicious stuffed goodies of wonderment. I’ll even get the pork ones, cuz there is no way they can’t be as amazing as the beef ones. (It is also obviously a market, so all sorts of buns, packaged goods, etc are available here too).

This place has many Tainwanese groceries. I happened to stop by yesterday and tempted to try their frozen dumplings. I am surprised there are so many varieties: Chive only, with prok, chicken, shrimp even lamb. I supposed the owner’s name is Ping Er who claimed that she was from Tsingdao. I tried the Pork with chive, for 50 each costs:$ 13.99, that is 18 cents each. Also there is a larger one called«Chive Pocket» without meat, filled with chive, cooked pieces of scrambled egg, fansi noodle, for 20 of them it’ costs $ 15, that is $ 1.25 each. Not bad. Very tasty, but you have to take home to pan fry them. For the dumplings you can also steam them in hot boiled water — do not put them in cold then boil, that was her warning. My favorite dumpling is still Fu Mama Judy’s at Snappy Dragon though (that comes with Judy’s special sauce and chilli paste). Each has its own unique taste and texture of dough. I guess dumplings are good specialty food!

Cozy little market! It’s like a mini Chinese grocery store minus the produce and meat. They also sell buns, long chinese donut, bawans, etc. but the best part about this place is their homemade dumplings. They sell them in frozen bags for you to take home and cook yourself! Yumm… I love homemade dumplings. I especially like the pork and chives dumplings! :D Also, the lady is super nice :)

Interesting little market in the ID. They have imported Asian snacks, dry food, can goods, and cooking sauces, as well as a variety of traditional Chinese baked goods. They also have Vietnamese sandwiches! I didn’t get a chance to try them, but I’ll be back since I love V-sands.
