Specialties
Inspired by Scandinavian design, we sell home furnishings, accessories, and design objects that we love. A constantly changing display offers a fresh look on our collections each visit. We also show the works of local artists and craftspeople on rotating schedules. We love our Japantown location, and you will too!
History
Established in 2011.
After nearly 27 years at landmark Seattle retailer, Egbert’s, I decided to open my own store in order to continue what was good of Egbert’s, and expand the offerings, with a re-freshed viewpoint. It was a tough decision in a tough economy, but there is still a need for personal stores in the marketplace. Response already has been very encouraging, and I look forward to growing the business in our really wonderful Japantown location.

Business Owner
Starting in retail almost fresh out of school in 1985, I spent the next 26 plus years working at Egbert’s, a very special home furnishings mecca in Seattle. That experience was critical to the consolidation of design preferences and ideas which led to the opening of plus45design in December, 2011. The much smaller new store has started with many of the familiar vendors from the early years, but we keep adding some new product lines as time, and money, allows. Denmark is a special place for me, but I am not limiting my selections to be strictly Scandinavian. You will find all kinds of product and craft from all over the world… that works together within my view of good design.
