Specialties

Puget Sound Strings is Seattle’s premier crossover string quartet. We will rock anything from Beatles, to Beck, to Beethoven. If it’s not in our repertoire already, just ask us to learn it.

We are available to play anytime anywhere. In the summer you’ll find us playing at a lot of weddings. Though occasionally we will put on an open concert at Kerry Park (search Puget Sound Strings on Youtube).

Fall and winter finds us mostly indoors at company parties, and playing as part of larger ensembles like the Seattle Symphony, 5th Avenue theater orchestra, and Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra.

History

Established in 2008.

The members of Puget Sound Strings met while completing Graduate Degrees at in music performance at the University of Washington. Since then, as we have all become more involved in the Seattle Music scene, and group has come include members of the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Tacoma Symphony, and 5th Avenue Theater Orchestra. We’ve had a great time getting to know many clients and venues across the state.

Meet the Manager

Mitchell D.

Mitchell started Puget Sound Strings while doing graduate work in violin performance at the University of Washington. Since then, Mitchell has performed with the Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, the 5th Avenue Theater, Village Theater, and numerous other organizations around Seattle.

To give Puget Sound Strings it’s unique sound and repertoire Mitchell has composed hundreds of custom arrangements for the group. Some of his arrangements have been licensed by major publishing companies like Hal Leonard and Alfred. His arrangement of «My Old Kentucky Home» was also featured in Strings Magazine in 2014.

In addition to arranging music and being the main point of contact with clients, you will find Mitchell playing violin with the group as much as possible.
