Qualstar Credit Union

I’ve been with Qualstar for about 10 years now and have always received excellent service and better rates than anywhere else. I can’t imagine ever switching CUs or *gasp* going back to a bank.
There isn’t one big huge thing I can say about how awesome Qualstar is, it’s just all the little things that have added up over the years. I use multiple banks for budgeting reasons, and Qualstar is the only one that has never pissed me off, screwed me out of money, made ‘mistakes’ on my account, or anything else. They make it EASY to be a customer, which I appreciate more than I can put into words.
They’ve stayed on the phone with me at 7pm on a Friday night resetting my password because I was at an ATM in a rush to get out of town on a road trip, and kept screwing up my PIN and locking my account (seriously, like, 4 times in one phone call!).
They’ve refunded a decent number of overdraft fees on my account over the years (in my younger and les-​enlightened years, I was not so great at getting the timing of my payments vs paychecks correct…) without so much as one sarcastic comment about my inability to manage my money.
«Shared Branching» means I can walk into almost any Credit Union in my state and they can look me up and help me with all basic account functions, so I’m not limited by the small number of actual Qualstar branches.
No charges to use other credit union’s ATMs.
FANTASTIC customer service both over the phone and in person — clear communication, you get the same answers no matter who you ask, always friendly, transactions are quick, and most importantly, the folks who answer the customer service line seem to be empowered to help their customers without a lot of «hold on while I talk to my manager» kindof stuff.
Lastly, excellent loan rates, saving rates, and no fees for any of my current services (two checking accounts, three savings accounts, one credit card, and one car loan).
I heart Qualstar, plain and simple. You will too.
