Rich’s Appliance Service

Woke up to a fridge with a big puddle underneath. After calling a couple other highly rated service folks and getting blown off, I got ahold of Rich. He told me how to turn off the water shutoff to immediately stop the leaking, and told me he could be out the next day. His initial guess was correct — fridge had a broken water supply unit. He had brought the part along with him on a hunch and only needed 20 minutes or so for the whole repair. Super affordable and a nice guy who knows his stuff.

Great response and service. I had an old washer stop working on spin cycle and Rich fit me within hours of my call and got the washer up and running in minutes. Thanks Rich!

Rich came by this morning and repaired our Whirlpool refrigerator for about ¹⁄₃ the cost of what Whirlpool’s repair and extended warranty people wanted. He’s a straight shooter who knows exactly what he’s doing, and a really pleasant guy to boot. If you have any issues at all with your refrigerator or other major appliances, give him a call.

Didn’t actually need anything repaired— just a replacement piece that held up one of my shelves. When I called, they were super friendly and gave me the name and phone number for where I could get the replacement piece. If our fridge ever breaks– they will be the first one I call!

Rich was very nice when answering my call as he waited at a doc. Appointment. He checked out my dryer the following day and had the heating element replaced in less than an hr.
The dryer is in a tight space but he managed to make it work!
I definitely recommend him for any of your appliance repair needs.

Rich is awesome! We are so happy to have found him! We moved into a different home and discovered that most of the appliances had ‘issues.’ Rick was able to help us with our washer, dryer, refrigerator, and oven. It seemed like there was nothing he didn’t know! He also tried to keep the costs down and made suggestions to that effect. We will definitely hire him again if need be. Thanks Rich.

I contacted Rich early on Thursday morning and to my pleasant surprise he answered the phone himself. I told what the symptoms were and he said I all most certainty had a leak in refrigerant. Cost of repair $ 400 to $ 700. I said I guess I will buy new refrigerator. He said give me the model number anyway. He said he want to put a fan behind it and see what that did. It immediately brought temperatures under control. He said one of two parts and he confirmed it was the more expensive part by using a volt meter. At the same time is fixing my dishwasher and only charging me one service call fee of $ 50.00 I appreciate Rich“s honesty his quick responsiveness and vast knowledge,

Gosh, I had liked this guy enough to do a good review. But, then he completely flaked on a job. We had called him to see about fixing our refrigerator ice maker and he told us he would be out a couple days later. But, he never showed up! My husband thought it was just too small a job for him and too far for him to travel. Well, he should have let us know. That would have been the right/​professional thing to do. Still think he’s a nice guy, just maybe don’t count on him always coming through.

Rich hasn’t actually repaired any of my appliances, yet, since he just guided me over the phone on how to reset my oven after it displayed a failure message. I followed his directions and the oven appears to be properly working once again.
I appreciate his assistance and candor, and for saving me the time of not having to schedule a service appointment. I will not hesitate to employ his services, if my oven or other major appliances ever need a repair.

Straight forward, knowledgeable, and honest. Rich was able to diagnose my potential problem over the phone (something blocking the drain pump). He came to my house promptly and we discovered there was a bobby pin stopping the pump (which was still good.) Thus, I only paid for the labor and was not forced to replace parts I didn’t need. Rich also recommended installing a factory addition which prevents objects from reaching the drain pump which I plan to buy as well. I’ll even call him back to put it in. I couldn’t be happier about the outcome… except those darn girls in my house who need to check their pockets better.

Rich was GREAT from start to finish. Genuinely great. Honest, hard-​working, easy to talk to and his price was very reasonable. I would recommend him to anyone.
I had a Frigidaire oven that wasn’t working… and the companies that were recommended by Frigidaire were either impossible to schedule or had terrible reviews on Unilocal and Angie’s List.
I found Rich here on Unilocal,read the amazing reviews and called him immediately. He immediately picked up the phone, was friendly and knowledgeable, tried to help me fix my oven over the phone (by resetting the electronic controls), and when it became clear there were problems with a part, ordered it and scheduled a time to come out.
In less than 4 hours… can you believe that quick turn-​around… he had been to the house and fixed the oven. He followed up the service and emailed me a receipt as I requested.
Appliance repair can be a shady business where the customer is taken advantage of (just read reviews of some other service people). It’s really nice to know a good guy like RIch exists. I will only call him in the future for any kind of appliance service work. He’s the best.

Very knowledgeable told me over phone it sounded like one of my daughters socks was stuck in the pump.

We were very impressed with Rich’s honesty and level of service. We had a broken stacked GE washer that many other repair people refused to look at because of the finicky electronic parts. Rich took his time to diagnose the problem and drove from our home in Seattle to Tukwila and back to replace the broken part in the span of an hour. For several hours of his time, he only charged us 80 dollars and the cost of the part, leaving with a warranty on his work for 90 days. Unfortunately our washer broke again a few months later, and Rich stayed true to his word and did not charge us at all to fix the second problem that arose. In summary, we really appreciated Rich’s expertise and integrity and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again!

I called a couple places who were closer, and after a couple of days no pick ups or returned calls, so i expanded my radius. Rich was willing to come into Seattle, got as much info as possible over the phone, looked up my particular model appliance beforehand, and could do a next-​day appointment (the first my schedule allowed). The repair was quick and efficient, Rich is friendly, and he charged a totally fair price for a simple repair considering the travel/​time/​knowledge. I would call him again if another issue popped up!

Rich is very helpful over the phone to get the problem diagnosed, and honest when something doesn’t need replacing once he’s seen it. Our washer isn’t leaking anymore, and our dryer is almost whisper quiet now. I’ll definitely use his services next time I have an appliance issue.

Rich was amazing. I called at about 7:30 at night — my fridge wasn’t turning on. I gave him the model number and he said he’d do some research. Turns out my fridge is slightly not the standard for some reason, so we commenced a multi-​modal conversation where Rich emailed me the service manual, along with notes about where I should look for certain unclearly-​worded things. He also requested text messages with photos of key features of the fridge. We were initially thinking the control board had burnt out. But while I was gathering materials for Rich (who was off and on the voice-​phone with me throughout the next 90 minutes) I found some mouse damage to the cord that I hadn’t seen before I called.
I then took my fridge apart with full confidence that Rich would talk me through it all. Then, when I found a part that looked like it would be difficult to source (a power cord with several funny ends) he recommended that I go to Home Depot, get the other end of the cord, and wire-​nut everything together to Frankenstein a repair that, in the end, will cost me under $ 20 if I am guessing correctly.
What a guy! When I have a real problem, I will call Rich in a hot second. There’s no customer service like he gave me tonight.

So far really great on the phone. He should be here later this afternoon so Ill amend this review if things dont go right.
Worth mentioning two things about this guy. I thought I might want to drive the washer out to him and he said he only comes to see people but then gave me another business that will let me bring it too them. Very honest guy.
Worth his fee to get it diagnosed as either something cheap that we can afford or not so we’ll have to plan on buying a new machine or not.
This is a great option for us since we are very strapped for cash. New washing machines start at $ 550… and a refurb will be around $ 350.

He came by right on time and I really like this guy. Very personable and friendly. Someone you would want to actually be friends with.

He looked over our washer (14 year old kenmore from sears) and it was in fact the bearings so it’s done and we’ll have to buy a new one. He spent some time tellling me about various brands he has had the worst and best experiences with to help with our purchase. That is very appreciated. Thank you Rich!

This is my first experience with Rich. He was able to come an hour earlier then the appointed time; he called before to ask if I was available. He was able to fix my dryer and gave me preventative maintenance advice. He also said he would give me advice on future appliance purchases. I’m planning to replace my almost 20 year old refrigerator and dishwasher. The repair cost was fairly reasonable for an appliance of 7 years of no problems. I’d definitely call Rich again for future appliance repairs.
Just some advice about Unilocal.I also called Eagle Appliance Repair because they were highly rated and had the most reviews in my current location. Unfortunately they did not return my call. They are probably in high demand.
So when choosing repair companies or companies like these – don’t choose solely on most reviews or ratings alone. You might dismiss the ones with less reviews and they might be just as good or greater. Just saying.
