Roosevelt Auto Body -Collision 1

I just had my car repaired at Roosevelt Auto Body, Northgate, and I had a wonderful experience. They promised my car on Thursday and they finished it a day early, and it looks terrific. A few years ago I had a bad experience there, so I was leery about going back, but this experience was a 360° turnaround. I would highly recommend Roosevelt Auto Body if you need your car repaired.

ABOVE & BEYOND service. I have had bodywork done on different cars a total of 5 different times and every time whether it was a small or big job it went completely smooth with constant communication at every point. This review is way overdue because I have been so happy with their work from the first time I experienced a hit-​n-​run. All staff members there are exceptionally nice, helpful and knowledgable. I appreciate knowing them and have peace of mind whenever they work on one of my cars. I highly recommend them to everyone!

The stars are for the bodywork — they did an excellent job.
As other Unilocalers have mentioned, communication isn’t the best, but that’s not my main concern.
Another annoying thing (but not a total dealbreaker) is that I requested a rental car of a certain kind (a Chevy Malibu) and they didn’t tell me that it wasn’t going to cost more than the allowed amount, so the rental car ended up being an extra cost without me knowing until I had already had the car for a day (the insurance agent told me.)
However, my main concern is that when I picked my car up, it was no longer functional — and I had no problems before.
Work was finished on a Friday and I went on vacation on a Saturday. I returned and picked it up the following Monday (after about a week and a half of it being there.) They had done body work and also repaired my window which had fallen off the track (which they said was unrelated to the accident.)
When I got into the car I noticed that the acceleration was very poor. Getting on the freeway was unsafe. When I returned home, the engine starting smoking. I let it cool down and my boyfriend checked the fluid levels, which were fine. Took it to my mechanic just in case and he said that there was a bad engine knock and that the entire engine would need to be replaced.
I have no hard evidence that anything happened to my car while it was in the shop. However, I had the car completely checked out about four months before (it was older, but new to me) and put $ 700 of repairs in it to make sure it would run smoothly for a long time.
It’s alarming that the issue was so evident (like awful power when accelerating — next to nothing!) and they didn’t alert me of it. Were they trying to hide something? Had someone been driving it and screwed something up? Did something rbeak while the work was being done? Again, no real evidence, but it is a major concern to me that there was no communication that something was going on, especially when they did have to drive it to get it from the back parking lot (or wherever it was parked) to me, which seemed to take unreasonably long.
Because replacing the engine would have cost more than the car was worth, I did have to sell the car.
I have reported this to the insurance agency — if you have had any problems with this company, I would encourage you to do the same, since something like this will get investigated should there be similar problems.

This is the third time I’ve used Roosevelt Auto Body in the past seven years. To be fair, the previous times the work they have done has been excellent. However, both times there were no follow up problems. This time ’round their Estimator erred in telling me correctly about the parts to be replaced, and a completely inferior repair was done. When I complained they stonewalled me, and continued to hold me off with «my manager is out town» and «my manager is out with the flu» for a month. Then, after giving up and not hearing from him for two weeks, he emailed me back with the same response — not my fault, I didn’t do it, I didn’t do anything wrong, you’re on your own.
I’m not asking them to eat the entire cost, but I did want them to admit their part of the blame and split the difference. Its not even a huge amount we’re talking about — probably $ 400. But they stonewalled and acted like I was the enemy.
IF you want to roll the dice, use them. Or better yet, go to a different auto body repair company and eliminate any risk at all.

I think this business is a good example of a true five star rating.
When my brand new car was rear-​ended this summer, I can’t recall whether it was Allstate or myself that set up an appointment at this place. I had considered them in the past but at the time I didn’t live in the area so I ended up going with a more convenient shop. I ended up moving to Lake City and found myself around Northgate often, so I wanted to give them a shot.
My car looked far from destroyed, but my concern was whether there was any bad damage underneath the fancy plastic bumper. Rich spoke to me with a no-​BS approach and lessened my stress by letting me know that what you could see was all that was wrong. Sweet, sweet relief.
The repair wasn’t estimated to take more than a few days and this is one of the reasons I didn’t bother with a rental car. Guess what? When Roosevelt Auto Body called me to pick up my car, I let them know I’d be arriving via bus and they drove out to my house to pick me up. Totally unexpected but very awesome of them considering a body shop I used prior certainly didn’t provide that option. I can’t remember who picked me up, but we had some nice car-​related talk on the way.
Fast forward a month or so… I have now started college at North Seattle College which is not far from the body shop. My first day of school, I come out to the parking lot to discover someone had side-​swiped my beloved vehicle just hours before. I sure am glad someone had the decency to leave a note on a college campus, let me tell ya.
I got in touch with the driver’s insurance company and they tried setting me up with I don’t even know what repair shop… Not gonna happen. After helping them locate the shop (apparently this Northgate location wasn’t in their database) they finally agreed that this would be the place.
Rich, once again, eased my mind regarding the even scarier looking damage. «It’s actually not too bad! In a way, you’re lucky – they didn’t make contact with your wheel.» (I had just installed brand new aftermarket wheels and tires after the last accident, which he had already seen.)
This time, I opted for a rental car, which Roosevelt did set up for me and had waiting when I came to drop off the vehicle. The repair took a couple extra days than it did before so I was glad I wasn’t without transportation, as I was now attending school as well.
When I came to pick up the car, Rich had me look it over to make sure I was satisfied. I brought up a concern with him – «The orange peel in the paint… it looks a little different than factory.» This is not something your average Joe would notice, but remember, this is my first brand new car, and it’s BLACK. The paint, in my eyes, has to be perfect.
Rich reassured me that it should look normal with a little more time. If not, he said they stand behind their work and would redo it until I was happy. Guess what? It turns out he was right; the paint now blends in perfectly with the factory-​painted panels.
They always wash your car after repair, too, which I appreciate. Though for a while I thought getting hit was going to be such a regular occurrence that I wouldn’t even need to do my own car wash again…
I meant for this to be a short review, but apparently when you’re a really satisfied customer, you tend to rave endlessly about a place. My conclusion is this: From the friendliness of the employees to the quality of work done, COLLISION 1 Roosevelt Auto Body takes perfection to a new level.

This shop was fantastic to work with. They were polite, professional and very helpful. My car was finished even sooner than I expected it to be, and the work is beautiful. I am very impressed with this business, and highly recommend them.

I have had my car worked on 3 different times here and each time has been as good of an experience as I could have asked for. They have excellent customer service and are efficient with the entire process. They worked directly with my insurance so I barely had to do anything. They also arranged for my rental vehicle to be waiting for me when I dropped my car off. The work done on my car is immaculate! Not only that, they have always gone the extra mile to clean the inside of my car when it seems to be at its worst. I picked my car up today with plans of having it detailed sometime soon and after getting it back from Roosevelt Auto Body, I don’t even need to have it detailed any further. I am so impressed with this place as they have consistently given me this level of exceptional customer service. I highly recommend them!

I don’t want to feel like I need to write this review, but I think I need to. I’ve been here twice before over the years through my insurance and everything went smoothly. This time, I had a dent in my door that I caused myself on a parking barrier, didn’t want to go through insurance, and went here out of pocket.
1. I booked my appt almost 2 weeks in advance, because I was told they needed to order a panel that takes some time. I made sure they’d have the panel in time for the appointment. I was told at my drop-​off last Monday the car would be ready for me Friday. I booked a rental car (also out of pocket).
2. I got a call on Friday morning saying that the panel that was ordered was damaged when it showed up, and they had ordered a new one that would be in that day. Already a little frustrated because I could have driven my own car all week and not paid for a rental. Was told to call back Monday — there’s 3 extra days in a rental car. Also told they found extra damage, new quote was $ 400 more, and I accept that sometimes that happens.
3. Call Monday, am told its being worked on and will be done Wednesday (today, ¹⁰⁄₃₀). 2 more days in a rental car.
4. Get a call from them at 3:45pm on Wednesday saying they’re working on putting it back together, but it’ll be a close call to get it done by the time they close. When I say over the phone that I really need my car back and don’t want to have to pay another day of rental car, the rep I spoke to rudely said, «I’ll just call you when it’s done» and hung up on me.
This is the worst customer service I’ve received at a business, and made even more frustrating knowing that I’ve already been patient, am paying more than I intended, and am now at 10 days without a car through their errors.

Good experience with Roosevelt Auto Body recently. Very nice people, kept in touch with me when they needed to keep it an extra day, and I didn’t recognize my car when I picked it up — they had cleaned it inside and out. Price was comparable to two other places that gave me estimates.

I had a great experience with Roosevelt Auto Body Collision 1 Northgate. The staff members were very friendly and accommodating throughout all steps of the repair process. I dropped off my vehicle on a Monday and by Friday the front driver’s side impacted bumper damage had been completely taken care of. The car looks great. I couldn’t have had a better experience. Thanks again, guys!

I don’t write reviews on Unilocal — not normally. However, the sub-​par service that I received from Roosevelt Auto Body (including incorrectly installed seat belts) warrants the following review.
My 2013 Jeep Wrangler was involved in an unfortunate hit-​and-​run and my insurance agent referred me to this location. I was initially given a timetable of 2 – 4 weeks to complete the necessary repairs. The completion date was subsequently pushed back 1 week at a time until we reached 9 weeks that the vehicle was in their shop. Their explanation for the delay was long lead times for parts for a new vehicle, mis-​shipped shipments, a 2^nd round of parts ordering at 4 weeks into the project, and the employee who was overseeing the repair resigned during the middle of the project. This comedy of errors and poor communication forced us to double the length of our car rental, incurring an additional expense that we had not counted on. Not to mention the multiple times we had to ask off for work, coordinate a ride, and make similar plans, only to postpone them for an additional week at a time for a total of 9 weeks and 3 days.
When we arrived to pick it up, the steering column had been incorrectly installed and knocked and rattled as we drove away. We immediately returned it to the shop and were told to return for the vehicle on the following Monday or Tuesday. We returned the following week to pick up the car and took it to the Jeep dealership for an inspection. They found it to have additional issues:
— The rear seat belt buckles were installed upside down
— The rear axle seal was leaking — which can leak onto the brakes, causing failure
Furthermore, there were greasy black handprints on the white underside of the removable top, the interior parts that had been removed and reinstalled were scuffed and scratched, and the car was not detailed as promised by the body shop.
The icing on the cake came with my follow-​up phone call with one of the owners — Kathy. I called to voice my concerns about the quality of work which had been done to my brand-​new vehicle. Rather than owning up to her employees mistakes and trying to remedy the situation, she proceeded to become defensive, blame her contractors, and simply talked over me for what ended up being one of the longest 15 minute conversations of my life. Adding insult to injury, she contacted my girlfriend and said that I shouldn’t be calling about her (my girlfriend’s) vehicle. The car is in both of our names, her name is just listed first on the insurance policy.
I have never had such difficulty with a business before nor have been treated with such disdain for pointing out legitimate concerns. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle anywhere but Roosevelt Auto Body.

I received terrible service here.
Brought my car in on a Friday and was told that I would get a phone call the following Monday with an estimate. Didn’t get a call on Monday, so I called them on Tuesday. I did not get any sort of acknowledgement or apology that they were supposed to call me the day before, and they told me that they would call me with any updates. I never got any calls about updates. Over the course of the next two weeks they never once initiated a phone call with me about the status of my vehicle and it was always me calling to check in, and them prolonging the process repeatedly.
They told me my car would be ready by «late next week», but on the Friday of that week they said it might not be ready until Monday morning. Later that day they changed their answer to Monday evening. When I called Monday morning, they told me it wouldn’t be ready until Tuesday evening.
The whole experience has been extremely unreliable. The person that is supposed to be helping me and answering questions is Adam, but he has been of no help at all. A couple times I called and was told that he would call me back when he was available, but when I got calls back they weren’t even from Adam himself, but from the receptionist.
I am extremely frustrated with this place and will never come back here again.

Great, honest service. Picked up my car and it looked like new — they even washed and detailed it. Would definitely return.

My friend and I just had the best experience here. After an incredibly stressful day, we found that her car wouldn’t stop and we were stuck in Northgate. We ended up walking over to see if someone could help (honestly, not sure what we were expecting but we were delirious at this point).
One of the guys there actually trekked back down the street to the car with us and tried to troubleshoot in the parking lot. Well, turns out her key was worn down and not a whole lot they could do, but they offered to give us a ride home so we could grab her spare. Basically they went above and beyond for a couple of stressballs and all with no promise of compensation. They are honest and kind people, and if I ever break down in Seattle, I know who I am calling.

I read about their rating and thought that the tow truck driver recommended and put my car at a dependable repair shop.
After getting delivery I noticed that they fixed outside but missed to fix the vent inside the car. Christian did NOT apoligize for the miss, but promised to fix it after consulting it with the insurance company because they had already reported to the insurance company as completed.
That was just an excuse to buy time, and the repair never happened.
I thought they cared, but in fact they don’t.

I have used this repair shop more than I can believe. We have 4 cars and 2 teenage drivers. Collision 1 is the best around. The job that they do is perfect, the cars are all like new. We have have to pay out of our pocket for some repairs, and their prices were very fair and comparable to other repair shops. I cannot say enough about this company, I hope I will not have the opportunity to go there again but if we have to — — we will go to Collision 1. Very nice and professional.

An 18-​yo driver backed into my car at the movie theatre… luckily her insurance processed my claim right away and I was able to get my car fixed right away.
This auto shop rocks! They were extremely fast and professional. They even set up a rental car for me when I dropped off my car and turned the fix around in only two days.
An added bonus: when I picked up my car, it had been thoroughly cleaned/​vacuumed inside and washed (looking sparkly) on the outside. Hell, I hadn’t even cleaned my car in months… These guys (and gal) rock!

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with an auto body shop.
Long story short, some jackass backed into my car while it was parked in front of my house and took off. Thankfully I have uninsured motorist coverage.
Roosevelt Auto Body was one of several shops my insurance company recommended. They were conveniently located near where I live and I had a previous good experience with one of the other Collision 1 shops in town so I thought I would give them a shot.
The lobby area is nice and clean and modern and looks really professional. Rick, the estimator and sort of go-​to-​guy I worked with did an outstanding job. Since they were affiliated with my insurance company, getting the work paid for was seamless.
The only hitch we had was a minor miscommunication regarding what was to be fixed. Basically, I felt they missed a couple things that I thought I had pointed out but that they had thought was preexisting damage. Once it was pointed out though, Rick did a fantastic job of getting my car back in and taking care of those couple of minor items. No arguing, no hassle, just simply took care of it. You can tell that they strive to treat their customers right.
I would definitely go back for any future auto body needs I hopefully won’t need.

Absolutely the best service and follow through I’ve had from any car repair. Rick, Sam, Shelby everyone there is the best at what they do. They went out of there way for me when I was T boned in an accident– I’m so happy they’re in the neighborhood.
I recommend them highly and will not go anywhere else, I love this place!
