Rub-A-Dub Dog Do It Yourself Dogwash

My dog Levi hates bath time. This place made it tolerable for him, which is huge! The staff was very friendly and explained what everything could be used for. They had different types of shampoos, brushes, ear cleaners, and even free treats! I’ll definitely be coming back here for Levi’s next bath (sorry buddy).

My mom and I went to this facility for the first time and we were amazed at how friendly and helpful the staff were during our visit. This place has everything you need to bathe your furry friend. They can even do dog nail trimming, too. The best part is that it is pretty comfortable for any dog. They also make sure any dog that uses the facility is up to date on vaccines.
If you don’t want to clean your pal at home, come to this establishment. It’s worth your time and money.

This was my first experience at a DIY dog wash. The staff person was friendly, explained everything thoroughly and took me through all of their products and what they’re good for. The bath went fairly smoothly (the wall harness definitely helps). While they have aprons, your dog is likely to shake off water, so it’s still going to get a bit messy. My dog has a lot of fur, and I was covered with it after a short amount of blow drying. That was the only piece I wasn’t a fan of — the dryers were blowing cold air and it was not pleasant for my pup, although I assume this is probably the treatment she would get if professionally groomed too. She is not a big treat eater but really enjoyed the ones here. All in all, I was a bit surprised about the cost -$ 22 for a DIY?! I was expecting somewhere around $ 16 – 18. Next time I will probably just give her a bath at home. The place smells, fittingly, like wet dog.

Update — we’ve been regular customer for 2 years+. Every 3 wks we take our old lady there (now 70lb!). We’ve done this enough that we shortened our time to 1hr including drying. They recently did a resurface of the counter in each station. Everything else still the same. Friendly staff, user-​friendly station, equipment, and supplies. We don’t hold back on using anything there and the staff encourages you to use everything. We never tried other places but we notice other places seem to have stainless steel tubs. This doesn’t affect anything but I kinda like Rub-​A-​dub Dog’s tubs with anti-​slipper mats. Just seems more home-​y.

Loved! Such a great experience not only for my little mutt but for my little human in tow. He was so excited to help and when he lost interest they had toys to entertain. The staff was so helpful and nice. I felt totally welcome and the place is clean with a knock out price point. It was nice to be able to leave right from our muddy walk to get cleaned up without the mess at home or making an appointment for a groom. We will be back!

They encourage you to use their products liberally. And the products are fabulous. My dog still smells extra fresh!
They had everything you could possibly need and to top it off — endless treats!!!

They have everything you need to wash your dog. This is awesome if you just don’t have the set up at home (who really does?). $ 20, ½ hour, and we had a much cleaner dog on our hands. Thanks guys!

Have been twice now with my large canine chum and can’t say anything but GREAT things. The gal in there is super friendly and cheerful, the place has all sorts of everything for washing and light grooming, and it is really as convenient as you could ask for. She does nail clips, too, but not for humans, solely canines.

I like this place so much I drive from Everett. The staff are super nice to me and my exuberant girl. Once we get her in the tub the warm water calms her right down. I love that everything needed is there, shampoo, conidtioner, brushes, ear cleaner, breathe spray, dryer, nail clippers, yea… everything. the staff will even clip her nails. A big win since I’m scared to do it myself after messing up before on a previous dog. Prices are also super reasonable and the treats appear to be yummy.

DIY dog wash at its best. $ 20 gets you unlimited time, everything you need to groom and they clean up! They are friendly and the set up is easy to use. There may be a wait on weekends though so get there early.

Nail clippings & anal gland expression are no longer the traumatizing events they used to be. They’ll either teach you how or do it for you. If your dog is fearful of bathing & grooming, this is the place. Spread the word.

I drive down from Everett about once a month and though Saturday can be a bit busy, Rubadub is well worth the trip. I am 65 and 6’5″ and George is a 150 lb. 9 year old Newfoundland. He and I are both well suited for these big elevated bathtubs as I don’t need to bend over and he can easily climb the steps to the platform and step down into the tub. These simple aspects are not exclusive to this establishment, but the atmosphere is. Completely non-​pretentious and comfortable with a nice home made quality I haven’t found at the other self-​wash shops I’ve tried. Nice folks, good shampoos, good background music … and the price is right.

Not only was I happy, but my puppies were easily handled here.
My husband and I had taken our Huskies to Magnuson, and if you have been there, you know there is waterfront. Even on a rainy day, my pups charged into the water. The trek back to the car created a muddy mess, so I pulled out my iPhone and searched for a DIY dog wash.
Thank you prior reviewers. We love this new dog wash spot. There was a bit of a wait, but we were given a back corner that the woman running the joint blocked off with a standalone fence. There is an assortment of products to use, and the amenities are amazing! We easily had our dogs rotating in the tub then to be dried. After 90 minutes, we walked out with two freshly washed and dried pups.
Even though we live in Auburn, we will be traveling north to return to this cute little place on the hill.

I brought my shepherd/​fox mix in today and needed a shower nail clip combo. Walked in, the gal was super friendly and cute, set me up, provided me with the equipment and supplies.

I really enjoy coming to this place — it’s so great to have a place where I wash my German Shepherd and I don’t have to clean it up! I really don’t mind paying to ~$ 20/​session to wash this dog, because let me tell you, HE SHEDS ALL YEAR ROUND. I mean, he will blow his coat about twice a year (which if dogs could look hungover, that his how they would look. It’s hysterical), but he also just drops fur year round in a constant flow.
This place also has a super high powered blow dryer that allows you to really get out all the little fur that is held in and you don’t get out by shampooing and conditioning. When I blow dry my dog, I have to die a towel around my face and put on really big goggles because the fur just FLIES. Honestly, that blow dryer they have really helps my Shepherd to shed his unwanted fur.
They have a lot of different types of shampoos and conditioners that you can use to fit your dogs needs (sensitive, herbal, de-​shedding, etc.). They also don’t get mad when you use an entire bottle, because some dogs just need an entire bottle of shampoo due to the amount of fur they have. If you have a chihuahua and try that, they might get mad. I know I would be a little peeved.
They also have tons of little edible treats that you can get them (as bribery) to keep them happy while getting bathed. You can also buy a dog «cookie» at the end to reward them for «almost getting killed off because bath time is a terrifying experience.» Yes, if bath time was the hardest thing I ever had to do, I would be so happy.

I’ve been to Rub-​A-​Dub dog a few times and always have a good experience. They have every kind of product or tool you would need to get your doggie clean: shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaner, brushes, towels, and a high pressure hair dryer, to name a few.
They make the cleaning areas save, with stationary leashes in the bathtub and at the drying, grooming table.
The cost is about half as much as grooming at Petco. Totally worth it.

Such a great and convenient place! The shampoo is awesome and they have anything you need to groom your dog. I ended up staying there for a almost 2 hours.

What a terrific place! The staff couldn’t have been nicer, and the large selection of shampoos, combs and lotions and potions was awesome! Chloe will be coming back again and again.

Decided to take my pup here today and it ended up being the best self service dog wash ive ever been too! And theres so many tools, sprays, shampoos and brushes to use its great! The girl who also showed us the ropes was very friendly as well and we also got $ 3 off for it being happy hour thursday. Pretty cool! Will definitely go back :)

To be honest, I’m a little sad to be giving this place a mediocre review. We’ve been bringing our dog here for two years and haven’t had any complaints until tonight. Their web site and the sign in their window both say the last dog is accepted 30 minutes before closing, which is 6:30pm on a weeknight. They must define ‘accepted’ differently though because we were turned away at 6:29pm. We’ve gotten there at 6:20ish before and had no problem so I’m not sure what the deal was. If the girl had been a little nicer about turning us away, I would have been okay with it but she was a little snarky and I’m still not sure why, considering I was trying to give her business. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and say maybe she was having a rough day, but I’m still disappointed. Sometimes it’s worth a few minutes of work to keep your customers happy.
Generally though, this place is great for giving your bath-​fearing pup a good scrub-​down. It’s always clean (for a place that washes dogs) and with the exception of tonight, service has always been satisfactory. Expect to wait on the weekends though — it gets busy!

I went on a busy day and there was fur flying around everywhere. I accidentally pointed the dryer into a corner and nearly choked on the amount of fur in the air.
However, I realize that I was there while it was busy and that… well duh, it’s a grooming place for dogs!
If I had a bigger dog, this would’ve been more convenient. My other dog, when he gets here from MN will probably be fine with it. My little dog seemed so terrified so back to the bathtub she goes.
The people that work there are super nice and I do recommend this place for your pups.
