Sandals Nail Salon

This has to be the best nail art salon ever! I went to their salon today for the first time and I absolutely loved it! The girl doing my hand nails was so professional and talented. I showed her a picture of the design I want to put on my nails. She looked at the picture once and was able to replicate what I wanted. I had 3D nail art on my nails and I totally loved it! I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone out there.
Oh and they allow you to tip them via debit/​credit card now. :)

This nail salon is often closed during their stated business hours. The services I have received here are extremely inconsistent and poorly done. I live nearby and it is disappointing to have tried this Salon multiple times and all experiences have been a let down. The nail technicians are often playing with the dog that someone brings into work, or texting. Don’t waste your time, so frustrating!

They have great service for a mani and pedi but they don’t allow you to tip them via debit/​credit card. Make sure to bring cash for tip!

I did not have a good experience at this salon. I went for a quick polish change on my hands and feet. The nail polish I chose was almost empty leaving my nails chunky and sloppy looking. They rushed through leaving smears on my nails and un-​evenly filed nails. They spoke another language to each other the entire time. I was the only client in the place so that was awkward. Then they charged me $ 17 for the service while processing my credit card at $ 25 (although that did seem to be an accident). There are lots of other nail salons in the area that do a better job and are nicer.

This is a very basic, no frills salon that does a decent job in a pinch. Also CHEAP compared with east coast prices. I’m new to the area (from D.C.) and Seattle seems to have fewer salons that do acrylic, and half-​nail color seems to be a foreign concept. Sandals is tiny (3 pedi chairs/​3 nail stations); the low-​key atmosphere is nice – (although I miss having the distraction of a TV to keep you from just having to stare at the technician the whole time). While the staff is friendly and the resident toy terrier «Jellybean» who yappingly greets every customer at the door is adorable, this salon falls short. [BTW, I like pets so I wasn’t put off by the owner continuing with my nails with the dog on her lap, but this might be a horror to some…] No paper foot covers, so when you move from the pedi chair to the manicure station, it’s just your bare feet on their floor (ick!) No toe separators, so be prepared to «spread ‘em» yourself to keep from nicking your paint. I’ve been there twice and neither time have they offered the massage function on the pedi chair. Neither time has anyone asked me how I like my pedi water (it was HOT both times, but I like that). Nail polish seems to be of lower quality. I agree with the other Unilocaler that they don’t do a hard enough foot scrub; foot massage was OK. Good parking. But not a cushy «pamper» experience by any stretch; this is strictly utilitarian. I’ll be branching out and trying other salons now that I’m getting acclimated but since Sandals is close to my house, they’ll probably be my «go to» place when I’m in a hurry or need a nail rescue.

Really small nail shop only 3 pedicure chairs the one closest to the wall which I had was broken well as she would say «sometimes work sometime not» so that was a bummer. Especially because that’s one of the more important reasons to getting your feet done. So I still got charged the $ 25 for a pedi plus $ 5 for French tip. I don’t know if it’s different in the state of California but it is state mandated to use brand new foot scrubbers for each customer. Here they did not it was a purple reusable metal foot scrubber and I had to ask her to scrub my foot more because she was in a rush for some reason I don’t know bc there wasn’t anyone waiting to be seen. Not necessarily a fan.

I came here on a Sunday. I wanted a pedi & a full set of acrylics. The older woman was just RUDE. Disgusting attitude & look on her face. Spoke Vietnamese the entire time with her daughter (?). Neither of them spoke English. The younger woman started to work on my pedi. She did an okay job. The older woman started working on my mani, at the same time =\ which I’m not used to. All of a sudden she asked me what color I wanted my finger nails painted, when I told her from the very moment I walked in, «I WANT ACRYLIC FINGER NAILS». That’s when she tells me «she not working, come on Tuesday». Really though? And she charges me for a basic mani that I didn’t ask for. I just paid & left without a word. At least I KNOW.

I go here because it is so close to my house and I love the owner. She is young, hip and very good. However, if you get the other woman who works with her it is a nightmare as she doesn’t speak English AT ALL, so I feel like I cant get what I want because she doesn’t listen or know what I am asking for.
Even the owner doesn’t always listen. She is always good about asking how long I want my nails or what shape, but generally I don’t think the top coat they use in the best. I always have to get a polish change every week while at other places I go to I can go about 2 weeks before I need to apply a different color or touch ups.
For nail art, fake nails or gel I would recommended here as it is good and cheap. I hate getting Pedi’s here. They don’t massage for longer than 45 seconds on each leg and my nails were cut wayyyyy too short on my big toes which was painful for a few hours. They also don’t scrub your foot very well, which I like to have done a lot to make them smooth.
The last straw for me was when I called to make an appointment for anytime during the day as I was totally flexible. The lady (not the owner) said «sorry all busy». After asking her several times if she seriously had NO openings all day she just said «nope/​all booked. sorry?» and I haven’t gone back. If you seriously expect me to believe you are all booked on a random Tuesday and cant fit me in for a 30 minutes fill, then I will find somewhere else to go.
All in all: I definitely don’t hate the place, and I do go there when needed but it is NOT my first choice. And not to mention shitty customer service. The nail techs are always on their phones and barely even smile at customers.

I LOVE coming to this cute nail Salon. The colors and decorations are relaxing and Amy is my favorite. I like to bring my friends here who are visiting from out of town and even friends who have a usual salon will come sometimes.
The pricing is very affordable and the girls are amazingly creative. I get so many compliments on my nails. I’m grateful to have found this shop.

I go here for nail art sometimes. There are usually two young, stylish women working there and they are very creative and talented at nail art, and it’s affordable. 4 – 5 stars for nail art, but the general quality of the experience there is not up to par with other salons, which is the reason for three stars.
If you are looking for a relaxing, spa-​like experience, this is not the place to go. They are pleasant enough, but kind of ignore you and just kind of chit chat with each other in their language the whole time they are working. The manicure part of the process is a pretty basic service and not always done very well (today I have beautiful nail art but also some slight damage around my cuticles). I also got gel nails there once and they did not explain to me that I can’t remove it myself, so I absentmindedly peeled them off and damaged my nails, damage that lasted for months afterward.
The lack of «customer service» doesn’t really bother me because when I go there, I just want the nail art, but if I want a full service experience, I go somewhere else. I don’t get pedicures here either for that reason. And sometimes I look online for other nail art salons but don’t find any with photos that even come close to the work they do at Sandals.

I went here after seeing the amazing nail art. I decided to get a fill with design and pedicure. I was getting my nails painted at the pedicure chair to the side and out of no where SOOO MUCH PAIN in my big toe!!! I looked to see that the lady used the cuticle tool (blunt rounded metal tool) and dug it into the side of my toe between my nail and toe. She had no idea how much pain that she caused. I tried to wait it out and soon enough within a minute blood surrounded my toe nail. She said «sorry?» confused and wiped it with a towel. Then she put some blue liquid which i don’t know what it was and it stopped the bleeding. Sure enough my foot went back in the water. She continued to grab me by the big toe she hurt me and I had to tell her «DO NOT SQUEEZE MY BIG TOE, IT HURTS BAD!» she just said OK. The girl who was painting my nails looked at it like it was no big deal. As I waited for my toes to dry i hoped the pain would subside. I finally got up to put on my flip flops and tremendous amount of pain went to my toe. As I walked to the desk to pay, i slipped around in my flip flops because she did not wipe away the excess lotion/​oil. My feet were so oiling I could barely make it without them falling off. They told me $ 52. I asked for a discount/​compensation for her making me bleed and they replied «we don’t do that». I am FURIOUS that i paid for a overly expensive pedicure and came out injured. I then limped to the car and wiped my feet and sandals off with napkins so I could drive properly.
The evening came and my foot felt terrible still. I put neosporin and a band-​aid along with some tissue and medical tape making a soft cast. I could not sleep at all. I finally fell asleep around 2:30am and woke up at 7am to an amazing amount of pain still. I got up and as the blood went to my toe i about cried. I called to leave a message to get an appointment with a doctor. I am hoping the pain will go away by Monday but I am now worried it could be infected, as now below my toe is red (and there was no trauma there). My toe now (day 2) is very red on the side where she plunged that tool in between my toe and nail and is inflamed causing a slight bump.
I know people make mistakes but the owner did not care to compensate me or even talk to me about it. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I loved the job they do on nails but this other older lady was terrible. Her massage felt like an 8 year old’s. No pressure whatsoever and used her nails in some sort of scratching technique. uh. no one wants to be scratched during a massage.
I Will NEVERRRRRRR come back. I am also going onto
(WA State Licensing) to file a complaint about this place License Number: 33 409. Seems like hurting their customers is okay to them and they didn’t even try to make me feel better by giving me a refund or not charging me. I AM POSTING MY PICTURES!!!

I recently moved to Eastlake and wanted to find a nice local place to get my lip waxed every so often. To my horror, basically every place was $ 14 or more, which I just cannot justify paying; waxing someone’s lip takes literally one minute, and requires very little work.
I found Sandals offered the service for $ 5 — sold! When I arrived, I couldn’t see anyone, but a young girl came walking out from the back. I told her I was a walk-​in to get my lip waxed, and she said she would get the room ready. A minute later she called me back. The waxing room was small but clean enough. She never told me her name, or really said anything except «just the lip?» and «all done!» so if a chatty experience is important to you, this might not be the place.
For me, the price is key — and you cannot beat Sandals on that one. No bumps, no wax left on my face, no painful horror stories. I’ll be back.

Note to those poor girls out there who have ratchet feet, like me:
Sandals is good, but not a «scrub the crap out of your feet» type pedicure. They tidy you up, but they don’t go industrial on your feet. Personally, I NEED (not just want) pedicures with an auto body shop-​type approach. I also need them to top coat the heck out of my toenails because I chip my polish in a heartbeat.
You certainly get your $ 25 worth from the pedicure, don’t get me wrong. They massage your legs a bit and have massage chairs… but if you have ugly feet like mine, you may need more TLC than they provide. The scrubbing, cuticle trimming, etc is nominal (fine for people with nice feet) and the polish is laid on the thin side.
It is a testimony to Sandals that their regulars have taken time to write in and sing their praises… watching the two women that run the salon, it is clear they take on their regulars as girlfriends and take good care of them. They remember details of their client’s particular needs or recent chips or breaks and happily chat.
However, if you are not a regular — service is a little different. They’re friendly but not going out of their way for you. YOU have to earn their loyalty! I don’t judge that… I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a small business catering to their devoted. It’s just worth noting…
If I keep visiting them when in town, I may boost up a star… but for now, solid 3.

This place is fantastic! I went here the week I was graduation from UW to get some «class of ’12» nails and they blew me AWAY. 3D nail art and hand painted-​lettering designs… all for 25 $.
Go, just Go. It is one of the best kept secrets in the area. Clean, professional, friendly… and with a cute little puppy to boot!

I made an appointment for 6:00 PM because that was the earliest that they could get me in, and they close at 7:00 PM. I was really sketch about this because I hate nail shops rushing with my nails.
I got the french tips with two 3-​D designs on my ring fingers. + she asked if I wanted gel … so I did. and that all added up to $ 40. I’ve never paid sooo much before for my nails to be done.
I think this was okay. My nails were crooked, and I don’t know why people always say they think it’s clean and all that. It’s the same as the salons in the Souffend, which I like.
It sucks because I’m too passive about complaining… so I don’t. I suck it up. The good thing about Sandal’s is that they are young, and they they only use OPI, China Glaze or Orly. Otherwise, they’re okay. I’ve had better and I probably won’t return.

Eyebrows, Lip, and Nails. Yep, I’m definitely high maintenance.
I’ve been through so many nail salons throughout Seattle and not many of them made me feel like «I’ve found my place.»
Sandals is different. Amy is amazing. She is extremely detail oriented and made my nails and eyebrows absolutely perfect.
Amy took such time and care to make sure my cuticles were cut (they were so awful), my nail polish had no bubbles, and my eyebrows were to my liking.
I’m in love and will never go anywhere else.

As the ones who read my Unilocal know, I’ve been looking for a great place to get my nails and pedicures done. And I will look no further in the Seattle area.
Sandal’s Nail Shop is located right off 45^th street so it will be hard to spot. Its a cute little shop located next door to a Amanda’s Touch of Color Salon.
I got my fill and design there and I received my first 3-​D design and I LOVED IT. it was soooo pretty, I had white flowers with a light pink glitter nail color. Amy took her time to do it, which is a MUST when you are going to wear that design for two weeks. and I got so many compliments from my friends!
I got a pedicure yesterday and they did an AMAZING job. Cleaned the cuticles and scrubbed my feet well.
Clean. Friendly. Cute Place. Detail oriented. Located in what I would call a safe clean neighborhood. what more do you need right?
PLENTY OF PARKING IN THE BACK!
By the way, they are priced really fair too.
if you’re looking for a brazilian wax, its only listed as $ 40! Majority of places i’ve seen the prices listed as $ 75.

Super cute little salon that does great hand massages. All the staff are super friendly and customer service is a huge priority!
It was a bit hard for me to find, I drove by it twice before finally seeing it since it’s on such a busy/​fast driving main road. I recommend mapquesting it and taking the street right before the salon, where you should be able to find a parking lot. I didn’t realize that they had a parking lot, so I just parked on the street about a block away. But the lot makes it so much more convenient!
