Seattle Flashing Lights Photography

I found Stephanie via Unilocal.I was planning my Seattle wedding from Japan so I couldn’t actually meet anyone/​see venues. We saw great reviews for Flashing Lights and we sent Stephanie an email and she responded quickly.
My husband and I were married in Kubota Gardens, Seattle. — December!!! — weather could have been horrid, but instead it was only muddy from the previous days of rain. Still, Stephanie was up and down rocks and bridges and hills, making sure we had the greatest photos. She found the greatest spots for beautiful photos. In downtown, she took innovative shots. She is truly an artist.

I am so happy that we found Seattle Flashing Lights to document our wedding! On paper, Stephanie and Doug met all our criteria: two photographers, great photos, fit into our budget, etc.
But when we began communicating with Stephanie and met the two of them in person, they completely exceeded our expectations! Stephanie is incredibly responsive and attentive. She answered my initial inquiry promptly and thoroughly; she is such a joy to communicate with! And both she and Doug are so down-​to-​earth and friendly!
When it came to the day of, I was so impressed. They were always right there to catch moments in action, even when I had no idea they were there (which is a great trait in a photographer). For example, when I got out of the limo at the photo location, my dad was standing right there and saw me right away. I thought we had missed our chance for our official «father/​daughter first look» photo. But wouldn’t you know it, SFL was right there to document it. When we received all the photos, I realized the moment was captured beautifully!
My husband and I are having such a blast looking through all the photos! Stephanie and Doug captured some amazing moments and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final result. The worst part of this whole thing is deciding which photos to display in our home. It’s so hard to narrow it down! We will definitely be recommending SFL to our friends and will go straight to them if we have photo needs in the future! They are simply a delight to work with! :)

Stephanie and her team are the best! We did both our engagement and wedding photos with her. My husband and I are hands down the most awkward people to take photos of, between blinking in every other picture and simply not knowing how to stand (just ask Stephanie), but somehow every photo we’ve taken with her has looked awesome. She’s super quick to respond to questions, and super organized and efficient when it’s crunch time. Stephanie takes the time to listen to what you want for photos, but also has tons of her own awesome ideas — thank goodness too, because otherwise our wedding pictures would have been pretty boring! Stephanie made us feel at ease during our wedding because we knew she had it all under control (even with some demanding family members!). I can’t recommend Stephanie more and will definitely use Seattle Flashing Lights for future professional photography needs! P. S. Their photo booth is BEYOND awesome — multiple guests were commenting on the great high-​quality camera and getting the photos sent directly to their phone!

Great price, great service, great photographs with the digital image rights; what more could I ask for? I found Stephanie on the internet. I did not meet her in person until the day of the shoot, since I am from out of town. My family was visiting Seattle on vacation and I requested an hour session in the downtown area. She followed us around the Pioneer Square area taking family, couple and individual photographs (3 adults, 2 teenagers).
She was a great communicator via email and was very receptive to my background ideas and pose requests. The pictures are SO BEAUTIFUL! She did a wonderful job editing them and keeping me in flattering poses (I’m always a little nervous a double chin is going to show up in all the pics LOL). Special memories captured and such an amazing deal! Thanks Steph! You Rock!

Family photos with our one and two year old boys seemed like a daunting task. My hope and expectation was that we would get one solid photo with all four of us looking at the camera, with our eyes open :-)
After a 45 minute session with Stephanie, we had so many amazing photos of the boys and our family together! I am still in awe of what she was able to capture in such a short period of time with my boys acting crazy and not necessarily cooperating.
I look forward to working with Stephanie on our future family photos and can only imagine the precious moments she will capture for us over the years!

Cannot recommend Stephanie enough. She took promotional pictures of my band and managed to make all of us look respectable! Seriously, she has a tremendous amount of talent and could not be easier to work with.

I am counting my lucky stars to have come across Doug, Stephanie, and SFL. Planning a wedding from across the coast can be tough-​but meeting the team from SFL– they made the process seamless. From start to finish it was great team effort, which made the execution perfect!!! Doug, Stephanie, and Savannah were great, they were fun-​fit in with our families, and greatly made the experience AWESOME. Doug and Stephanie created beautiful beautiful pictures that captured our memorable life event, and we can’t thank them enough.

Best Photographer, hands down ever!
I met Stephanie and Doug when I was looking for a wedding photographer, I instantly fell in love with them! They listened to all my concerns, and this being my first (and hopefully only) wedding offered really great tips too! They did an engagement shoot a couple months before the wedding which really helped get us comfortable behind their lens! Stephanie and I met a few more times leading up to the day of, which was really comforting. They were beyond amazing the day of the wedding, most of the time I didn’t realize they were there, but the shots they got showed otherwise! My wedding pictures were more than I could have hoped for, amazing large group shots, perfect intimate shots of my husband and I, and great detail shots of the small details in our wedding. I could not have asked for better!
My wedding was just over 2 years ago. I have since used Stephanie for my son and nephews birthday pictures every year. The boys are 4 now, and we just got finished with their 4 year old shoot. She makes the boys feel comfortable and have fun. She gets some really adorable shots of them. Not to mention she seamlessly edited out my sons scrape he had got on his face the day before! I was so stressed, but she made it look like it never happened! We love seeing Stephanie every year, we plan to keep it up for as long as the boys will allow!

I cannot say enough kind words about Stephanie and the amazing work she did for our wedding! My husband and I moved down to San Francisco a year ago and we decided to get married in wine country. However, being from Seattle we felt lost searching for a good photographer in the Bay Area to be a part of our big day. I knew Stephanie from a mutual friend years before our wedding, however was hesitant to reach out to her given that it would be a destination wedding for her. However, I did end up reaching out to her and she was over the moon to fly out to wine country and shoot our wedding for us. We could not have picked a more perfect photographer! Stephanie is one of those kind-​hearted people that is VERY easy to talk to and has a great talent for making you feel completely comfortable when you are getting your picture taken. My biggest fear was finding someone that my husband would feel comfortable enough to «pose» for and do the cute romantic pictures for our wedding… and Stephanie made it so easy for the both of us! Not to mention she has the most creative eye for amazing artsy shots! We will definitely be framing a ton of pictures to put around our house. Aside from her amazing personality and creative eye… what we cherished most was her ability to capture emotion in her photographs. We did not hire a videographer for our wedding (which I was bummed about, however we could not afford one with our budget). But after seeing the shots that Stephanie captured, I didn’t need a videographer anyways. She did such an amazing job at capturing these little moments throughout the day that you can feel the power/​emotion jumping right out of the picture and its as if I’m watching it happen all over again. We will be using Stephanie for all of our big life events and can’t recommend her enough!!! We love her!

Me and my hubby did our pictures for our engageversary lol new term and we loved working with stephine! She made us feel very comfortable and the pictures look great! I would recommend her to everyone for any kind of pics! She’s pretty helpful with ideas, places and very fast to respond via email. I’m glad we picked her!

Stephanie did an AMAZING job with our maternity/​engagement photo shoot. I was pretty nervous about having a formal photo session but she made me feel so comfortable! My fiancé and I loved how the process was so organic and natural. We just walked around and she’d just feel inspired by the city around us. All the photos reflected who we were as people and as a couple. It was an amazing day! Thanks Steph! :)

My fiancé and I worked with Stephanie for our engagement pictures and the entire experience was AMAZING!
She was always quick to respond to e-​mails and more than happy to answer any questions we had. All of her e-​mails were very detailed and clear.
We had never had professional photos taken before so we were both a little nervous, but Stephanie put us completely at-​ease and we had so much fun! We did our photo shoot at the Olympic Sculpture Park and Stephanie had great suggestions for poses and locations for pictures (she is wonderfully creative), and she also listened to everything we had to say and made sure we got everything out of the experience that we wanted to. Seriously, I can’t stress enough how much of a good time we had — Stephanie has such a fun personality and it made the whole photo shoot just awesome!
And the photos, ohmygosh our photos are absolutely lovely! As I was going through them I told my fiancé that they are so «us»; Stephanie did a fantastic job really capturing who we are! Getting a photo book and prints made is going to be tough because there are so many wonderful photos to choose from — but what a good problem to have!

My wife and I just did some professional head shots with Stephanie. We scheduled 45 minutes and were able to get in a few changes so we’d have options. We also got a few couples shots as well!
Stephanie was great at putting us at ease and finding shots that complimented us well. We will be returning for our next photo session needs!

My husband and I did a maternity photoshoot with Stephanie and we only have good things to say about it.
1. Stephanie was super responsive and it was very easy to get all the info we needed and schedule some time with her
2. She was very honest with us and advise us on what kind of photoshoot (length) we needed without trying to oversell anything.
3. The photoshoot was fun and Stephanie gave us all the directions we needed on how/​where to stand
4. We received the final pictures only a day later! and they are beautiful! The kind of pictures where you can recognize yourself and find yourself beautiful at the same time.
Stephanie is super talented and extremely professional. I will definitely book her again once my baby is born and I highly recommend her!

What can I say about Stephanie and Doug? They are both amazing photographers and people to boot! We first meet Stephanie when we did our engagement photos and it was a match a first click. After the session My fiancé (now wife) sat down and went over the wedding prices and sample photos. We decided to have them do our wedding as well (best choice ever) Stephanie and Doug did an amazing job of capturing the most important moment in our life. The were professionally, on time and open to trying anything photo idea we had and also threw in some great ideas of their own. Helpful hint get the photo booth it was the big hit at our wedding. Stephanie and Doug we cant wait to take maternity pictures and whatever we need a photographer for. You wont be disappointed when you choose Seattle Flashing lights.

If you’re thinking of booking Seattle Flashing Lights for your wedding, stop debating and just hire Stephanie and Doug as soon as possible! Not only is their work impeccable, they are professional, fun and accommodating. My husband was not at all excited to take engagement photos, but Stephanie and Doug were really good-​natured and were able to get some smiles out of him.
A week before our wedding we found out that – due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances – Doug wouldn’t be able to shoot the wedding. Before I had time to worry, Stephanie had already booked two back-​up photographers who were equally amazing. I really appreciated that they had a contingency plan. We also opted for the great (and reasonably-​priced) photo booth option that our guests loved. The day went smoothly, my husband was all smiles, and the pictures are soooo great!

Alright, the time has come for me to write my review and I’m stoked!
What can I say? Stephanie and Doug are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G…simply amazing! Stephanie did our engagement and maternity shoot which was a wonderful experience in and of itself and the finished product was even better! We love, love, love the photos! Almost a year later Stephanie and Doug photographed our wedding on Whidbey Island in June and I didn’t think it could have been any better than the previous shoot BUT… it was! They have such a wonderful air about them and really knew how to catch the feel of the event. I received our wedding pictures today and I could not stop smiling when I was looking through them because they brought me right back to that amazing day. The festive mood was practically oozing out of the photos. This stellar duo’s schedule is filling up fast so I would suggest if you’re even entertaining the idea of checking them out… do it now — you wont regret it :-)

Seattle is so lucky to have Stephanie and her talent as a photographer. At our initial meeting, she showed us her portfolio and her eye for capturing real moments was what sealed the deal for us.
It took a long time for me to find the perfect photographer in the area. I was so sick of seeing overly filtered photos that looked like they were taken on a iPhone with an Instagram filter. That’s not how I wanted to remember my wedding day! I think Stephanie really «gets» how memories should be preserved, and we are so grateful to have had her artistic expertise.
I won’t be going to any other photographer from now on – anniversaries, birthdays, family photos — I’m calling SFL first.

We worked with Stephanie for our maternity shoot and it was the best. seriously.

–she made us laugh and caught those real moments in the pictures.
–baby daddy hates getting his pic taken, but stephanie made him feel super comfortable and natural. we had a lot of fun at the shoot.
AFTER
–she was so fast in getting the images processed and to us.
–we are so stinkin happy with the images. they are great quality and SO flattering! i want to frame every one.
She made us customers for life!

Stephanie with Seattle Flashing Lights Photography is by far the best photographer I have ever worked with. EVER!
If it was up to me, I’d fly Stephanie out to shoot every single event.
She and Doug are phenomenal and always bring their A game. I cannot express how easy they are to work with and (as Stephanie says) they always have their «party pants pressed and our beer resistant camera gear cleaned and ready to go!» Smiling faces and a great attitude — what more could you ask for?!
