This office is not for any woman who practices the symptothermal method. When I called to make my appointment, I told the receptionist that I would like to see a doctor who was well-​versed in the symptothermal method/​fertility awareness, and she said «All of our doctors are familiar with that.» Well, it wasn’t true, because when I told my doctor that I use fertility awareness, she said, «You mean the rhythm method?» I tried to explain the difference between the two, but she belittled my choice and began lecturing me on the method’s ineffectiveness.
As someone who has an M.S. and has been charting her basal body temperature for over three years, it was infuriating to have my intelligence questioned by someone who didn’t even know the difference between the rhythm method and fertility awareness. Come on, get with the times! I expected much more, especially in a city that generally embraces holistic health care and rejects some of the extremes of Western Medicine. If 5% of women in Seattle use fertility awareness, that’s a group of thousands that should be looking for another OB/​GYN!

Extremely impersonal experience earlier this year. I ended up going thru a missed miscarriage and this location didn’t handle me well. I never spoke or met with the OBGYN (just the nurse practitioner) — had to beg for my HGC test results during the iffy time of whether or not the fetus would survive. I ended up switching to another OB who understood the nature of what was going on and treated me with more care than this place did. I don’t know if its because of the size of the practice or if it was the norm on how they treat patients going thru miscarriages but they don’t treat patients with the attention and promptness that they should receive during trying times (I spoke with a friend of mine who is a doctor about how I was being treated here and he was the one who recommended to switch practices).

I saw Sarah Chandler for my GYN care and she was wonderful! Of course no women loveesss to go for her yearly and she made me feel so comfortable (as much as anyone could with your legs in the stirrups!) She also takes the time to listen and answer your questions honestly and gave great advice. When I asked her about midwifery care vs using a doctor, she discussed the difference in length, and was supportive when I stated I knew I would want an epidural, and fully supported me! I know I will continue to see her for all my GYN issues but even more I can’t wait to see her for my OB care also! Overall, if your looking for someone with great energy and who will take their time and doesn’t make you feel rushed, Sarah is who you should see!

If you are overweight, do not choose this office. Dr. Susan Harvey berated me, lectured me, and made me feel like a disgusting pig for gaining weight during my pregnancy, from my early appointments all the way to my c-​section, where she continued to make comments about my body as she delivered my child (who was completely healthy, by the way). No woman should have to endure what she put me (and others, from reading these reviews) through. Needless to say I chose another office with my second pregnancy.

I’m a fairly new patient here, but I already love this place! The staff are friendly, the office is well kept, organized and clean. I rarely ever have to wait for someone to come get me. Actually they have been right on time the last two times I’ve visited.
Dr. Kapnadak was referred to me by my best friend and I couldn’t imagine a better doctor out there. When I first met her, she was friendly right off the bat. She made me feel comfortable and secure — she took the time to get to know me, which not a lot of my past doctors have done. Even throughout each visit, she will go off topic and ask me about my weekend, my job, daughter, etc. I feel like I have a new friend rather than just a doctor!
I wish I knew about this place when I got pregnant two years ago. I’m sure my experience would have been way more pleasant than where I was going at the time. But now that I know, I will definitely come back to Dr. Kapnadak! She deserves 5 gold stars for being such an impressionable and amazing person!

My experience at Seattle OBGYN over the past 5 years has been all positive. I started seeing Dr. Foltz as my GYN and saw her through my two pregnancies. I also saw several of the other doctors during my time there and everyone was amazing. The staff is nothing but helpful and courteous.

So this is kind of creepy as who wants to write a review for their doctor. especially OB’s?
Well, I have to say that I am trying to pay it forward since I found this wonderful place and Dr. McKeever through Unilocal so I owe it to the community!
Like I said, when I was pregnant with my 1^st child; I was in need of a good OB. Not just one who was going to do a lowkey pregnancy but one who would let me ask all my questions & maybe even let me ramble a little as I had no idea what I was doing.
I found Dr. McKeever and I’ve been so happy to have a relationship with her and her office from pregnancy to maybe even a 2^nd baby in the near future.
She has been nothing short of great. Her bedside manner to how she makes me feel that no question is too strange to ask or ponder. My pregnancy was extremely challenging last time and so unfortunately she wasn’t my primary doctor through most of my appts but I have been seeing her again and she is still as great as I remember.
My sister actually got married & pregnant last year and she came to Dr. McKeever based on my suggestion and she said she was so glad she did. That she felt their entire office was so caring and so genuinely nice to her when she was having a challenging post-​birth.
I couldn’t imagine going to any other OB and yes the parking can be a nightmare (and spendy) but at the end of the day. I appreciate doctors who come to visit you well after the baby is born just to see how you’re doing. And while we were in the NICU, Dr. McKeever was the only one of my many doctors who did that and I will always appreciate that.

I went to this office for my first pregnancy. I had Dr. Susan Harvey as my doctor. She was great up until the point that I had my baby. I am overweight and was before I got pregnant. I gained quite a bit during my pregnancy, but she never said one word about it to me. Not any suggestions guidelines, literally nothing. My pregnancy went wonderfully, the last couple of weeks I had a touch of high blood pressure, but other than that it was healthy, comfortable and fun. Then I had my baby. He wasn’t able to maintain his blood sugar and I was having trouble breastfeeding, so they took him to NICU. It was after that, when I was sitting alone in my hospital room feeling awful from the cesarean and having my baby taken to a different part of the hospital, that Dr. Harvey shows up. She wasn’t the doctor that delivered my baby, and it was the first time I had seen her since went into labor. She starts talking and I realize it’s an angry rant about my weight. She seriously tells me, while I’m already sitting there depressed and upset, that I am too fat and I will not live to see my baby grow up. She seems quietly furious with me and all i can do is sob. Thanks a lot Dr. Harvey. Seriously, it was the meanest thing she could have done at that point. I would never go back to her ever.

I was a midwife patient at Seattle OB/​GYN and delivered my baby in March 2015. I had a good experience there and will share the ups and downs.
The office isn’t perfect and they definitely run late sometimes. I did appreciate that the nurse called to let me know the one time they were running more than thirty minutes late (of course I was already on the bus by the time she called so there wasn’t much I could do). The receptionists were always helpful with scheduling and rescheduling and most of them were super friendly.
You can call anytime but I never had anything urgent enough to call after hours. I called in with health questions two or three times during business hours and they always called back quickly. One of those times they needed me to come in for a quick check and they got me an appointment at 11am that same day. I appreciate how sympathetic the nurses always were even when they couldn’t do anything (pregnancy is uncomfortable and there’s not always much you can do about it!).
The three midwives are all different and I tried to get to know them all since you don’t know who will be on call when you go into labor. I had one or two experiences where their bedside manor left something to be desired or it seemed like they were rushing through, but I think you’d get that anywhere. When you see the midwives you get 20 minutes with your provider each time (instead of 10 with an OB) so there’s plenty of time to discuss concerns. I had the best connection with Diane Walker so I was lucky that she was the midwife on call when I went into labor! Corey, who usually did the initial weight/​BP check for each appointment, was also wonderful and I looked forward to seeing her each time.
The reason I’m giving five stars is because of the great experience I had giving birth with Diane Walker by my side. She really couldn’t have been better. She is just the kind of person you want at your birth: encouraging, sympathetic, experienced, focused, and a great listener. My husband also really appreciated her and felt she was a fantastic supporter. She understood my birth plan and helped me have the kind of birth I wanted, which was unmedicated and free of interventions. She totally would have supported medications and interventions as needed/​desired though. She did a lot of things I would have wanted without me even asking (waiting to cut the cord until it stopped pulsing, applying a warm compress right before the baby crowned, etc). She visited us the morning after my baby was born to discharge me from the hospital and again she was super helpful. The way she went over my discharge instructions and what to watch for was very clear and perfect for someone like me who worries a lot (since she also said what not to worry about). You can tell she’s been doing this for a long time and is passionate about it. I will definitely be going back to see her when I get pregnant again!
Pro tip: turn off the ‘quiet hours’ on your phone when you’re close to your due date. I called the after hours line when I went into labor at 1am and didn’t hear when Diane called me back (three times) since my phone had quiet hours. When we finally realized what was happening we called again and got connected but you don’t need that extra stress when you’re in labor in the middle of the night!

Dr. Kimelman is a wonderful OB/​GYN. She is thoughtful, kind and listens well. She has a great bedside manner and is very intelligent. I trust her implicitly. She is my OB/​GYN and I refer all of my pregnant patients to her, as well. I know that when they are seeing Dr. Kimelman, I don’t need to worry about the care they are receiving. I know that it is going to be of the highest quality. She is a doctor’s doctor. I have known many MDs who send not only their patients but also their friends and loved ones to her.

I cannot say enough positive things about this practice! I see Dr Martin and she is amazing.
A little background — I moved here a few months before getting pregnant with my first child last fall. I was honestly really worried because I had a great relationship with my doctor back in Florida, and had had some previous surgeries that raised concerns on how it would affect my pregnancy. I chose Seattle OBGyN off of Unilocal reviews all together, believe it or not, and it has not disappointed me.
Every single person on the staff has been super friendly and helpful. They truly care about their patients and go the extra mile for them. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for an obgyn office that is down to earth, knowledgable and supportive.

Dr. Koala is fantastic, I switched to her after an uncomfortable experience with another OB, shes very caring, and listens, is calm, professional and very good at what she does.

I just had my 8 week check up here about two weeks ago. The staff upfront are friendly, helpful, and so sweet. I met with Michele the RN and she was so understanding that I had my two year old with me while my husband was deployed. She even helped keep him busy. Friendly, helpful, and answer every single question.
My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is I had to go to an orientation at 5pm in downtown Seattle. With that being said I was already a little annoyed after sitting in traffic. Well once we (yes we because I had to bring my son because like I said my husband was deployed) we got there whoever was giving the orientation was almost annoyed I had my son. He didn’t make noise he just wanted to walk around after and hour and a half all of us wanted to walk around. I just wish she could of been a little more understanding consider the fact we were all there because we are pregnant. Just left a little sour taste in my mouth. If you’re annoyed with children maybe don’t work somewhere where you deliver there.
But besides that little hiccup like I said great staff, friendly, and so supportive.
Parking sucks, you have to park in a garage and its a bit expensive. (Well for me a non city person) if you’re traveling a good distance leave early its a bit tricky finding the building. But it’s beautiful, clean, and spacious.

Dr. Daniel has been my OB for the last few years and although she’s not practicing obstetrics anymore, she will always be my gynecologist! I love her! If you’re looking for the most gentle, kind-​hearted person on this planet, call her.
The staff here is so friendly and helpful and understanding. The office is beautiful and spacious and the doctors work as a team so no one gets left untreated when they need it. I can’t say enough good things. I recommend this place to all my girlfriends.

This is my 3^rd child with Dr. Harvey and I love her!!! I was 20 when I had my son with
Her, 22 when I had my daughter, now 29 with my second little girl… My husband and I travel all the way from Marysville to see her. She’s never dismissed me, she listens to all my concerns, and supports me in everything I’m going through and feeling. I’ve never been a big girl and lost 30lbs during my pregnancy with my second child, she kept an eye on it but was never forcing me weight gain shakes. I was stressed out and she encouraged me to drink a glass of red wine every now and then, I didn’t want to give up my coffee or green tea, and she told me I didn’t have to. She’s very down to earth and personable always greeting you with a smile.

I had a previous unplanned c-​section and really wanted my second child to be born via a vaginal birth. I chose Dr. Folz who let me know at my very first appointment what she thought the mitigating circumstances were which led to my previous c-​section. She let me know how I could proactively avoid the same circumstances, yet gently prepared me for the possibility that it could happen again if my health determined it. I felt empowered and an active participant in my care whereas with my previous experience I felt like a bystander.
When it came time to go to the hospital, Dr. Harvey was on call. Dr. Harvey was very supportive of me having a VBAC, as were the nurses at Swedish. I admit I was surprised how supportive everyone was, because I’ve heard some criticism of Swedish but that was not my experience. Good news is I had a VBAC and it was an incredible experience.
I also saw Dr. McKeever for a non-​ob reason and she too was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and a wonderful bedside manner.
My advice is to choose your ob well. If it doesn’t feel right, find someone new. Don’t wait until the last minute. Seattle ObGyn has at least 3 great doctors!

First time mom over 35 — I did a lot of research and this office was at the top of my list UNTIL I called to schedule an appointment as a 3mo transfer from a fertility clinic. I was on the cusp of needing to complete genetic screening and was told I could not get an appointment until I took a scheduling class blah blah blah this would have ended up being a month long process and I didn’t want to wait for genetic testing referrals. In retrospect, I chalk this up to a poorly trained receptionist. After speaking to the office manager, I was able to get in within a week.
Since that first phone call, I have had nothing but great experiences! Sarah Chandler (midwife) has a great personality and she’s professional. She is reassuring, funny, a great coach (gaining a little too much) and makes it a point to include my boyfriend. Her nurse Cory is also great. Scheduling has been easy as well. My boyfriend got a new job but wanted to be able to make it to all the appointments. The scheduling receptionist rescheduled every future appointment with me for a later time and was happy to help.
Highly recommend!

I first found out that I was pregnant when I was about 6 weeks I believe from when the first day of menstrual was. I did a bit a research and found this practice. I came across SEA OBGYN from Unilocal in the first place. Secondly I had to find a OB for my pregnancy that would be a great fit with me. It was definitely between Dr. Kimmelman and Dr. Mckeever. I ended up with Dr. Mckeever because she was not going to be on vacation near my due date which prompt me to her and after reading excellent reviews.
The first appointment they make for you is with a ARNP, and mine was Lucia. She is so nice and gentle. Very helpful and informative, even my husband liked her because she was very informative. The next visit would be with Dr. Mckeever which was 4 weeks from that visit with Lucia. My first impression of Dr. Mckeever was awesome! She basically told me how these appointments go and what she’d be doing and processes of the pregnancy. She recommended some classes I could take and encouraged me to continue with my exercise regimen minus hot yoga.
Speeding up to when I actually gave birth. I went in for my 39 week OB appoint where I was 39 weeks 5 days. I went in with the inkling that something was cooking down there. (TMI) I leaked liquids on the table and Dr. Mckeever checked to see if it could be amniotic fluid and it was! So she sent us off to have baby’s heartbeat checked on the monitor and then sent my DH and I to walk for 2 hours and come back to kick up contractions. Boy were me and DH tired, we went to check in the labor and delivery floor of Swedish First Hill on Broadway and our nurse told us to go walk for 2 more hours. No progress. at that point I was induced and she was on call that night while I was in the hospital, so HOW COOL is it to have your OB deliver your baby pretty awesome I feel! Even though all the doctors in the practice were more than qualified it was the fact I built a bond with this Dr. over the past 9 months! Anywho, She’s awesome and yeah the office sometimes gets a little hectic but what do you expect in a OB/​GYN office… lol. I loved Dr. Mckeever and look forward to having her for the rest of my other pregnancies ;-D

I see Dr. Foltz at Seattle OBGYN. I’ve been going to her for a few years and now I’m expecting my first baby. Dr. Foltz is fantastic, very patient, informative, and personable. Everyone in the clinic has been very helpful, I’ve even had to call the after hours line when I thought something was wrong, and I received a call back from the on call doctor within 10 min. Luckily I was totally fine, and she was not bothered that I called in at all, and re-​assured me. I really appreciate all the staff, their flexibility, and Dr. Foltz. It’s been such a positive experience so far.

I chose Seattle OB/​GYN for my first pregnancy a little over a year ago. The reception and waiting area is kept nice and tidy and magazines are up to date and plentiful. Staff is friendly and welcoming.
I made a few calls and left messages on their call system during my first pregnancy with question/​concerns (as any first time mother would have) and received calls back by the on-​call doctor or nurse in a timely manner each time. They worked with me swiftly on the tedious paperwork for filing my FMLA for pregnancy and medical leave.
I have always had a good experience with the staff here and would definitely recommend this place for all ob/​gyn care.
