Seward Park Audubon Center

Visited this park twice so far and will probably be back again. The first time was for «Pista as Nayon», which is a Filipino festival held at the park every year. I enjoyed the open auditorium area and the festivities and made it a point to come back to walk around the loop. I came back several weeks ago and the loop is about a 2 ½ mile walk around with beautiful views of the water. There are bathrooms but quite a line and no bathroom tissue. Ugh! However still a great place to go for a walk. There are some beautiful wooded paths in between the loop to hike through. The loop is a wide paved path and the paths in between the loop are all dirt. It’s quite an easy walk as there isn’t much elevation. I walked a total of about 6 miles that day. I highly recommend this park if you want to go for a nice stroll.

I am completely in love with Seward Park.
The boy and I ended up here on an early Sunday morning, and it’s the most serene, peaceful place imaginable (at least the time we went!). We didn’t make it all around the path, but hope to next time.
Again, you guys have it so good to have such beautiful parks like this!

I came here to watch the sunset this past weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better view or atmosphere. The park wasn’t crowded and we easily found a bench to enjoy the sunset. I love that there is a loop trail, and I plan on one day running it. I hope to come back a few more times before summer is over!

So great. Seriously, so great! I can’t believe we have never been here before last week. This place is surprisingly huge! They have lot’s to offer. trails, waterfront paved bike/​walking paths, epic playgrounds, pavilion areas, swimming area, bathrooms and more.
We especially loved the kids playgrounds, we saw 2 main playgrounds. One was a toddler one and the other a older kid one. Both are right next to eachother so you can watch your kids play in both areas at the same time. They even have a mini zip-​line, which my 5 yr old loved.
The only downfall that we encountered was parking. Parking close to the water seems pretty next to impossible on a nice day. So be aware you may have to drive further up the hill to one of the other lots. Either way, no biggie. This place rocks!

Seward Park is one of my favorite parks in Seattle. It is a beautiful, calm, area that is very popular in the spring/​summer.
PROS:
Location/​ambiance: The peninsula that forms the park is located in southeast Seattle. The park is well-​traveled by walkers, strollers, runners, cyclists and dogs in all seasons. It is a scenic trail with beautiful views of the Lake Washington, the skyline and the I-​90 bridge. The trees provide some shaded areas, good for those scorching hot days. The paved trail stretches for 2.4 miles with some hiking trails accessible through the middle.
Activities: There is an environmental learning center next the the playground. There are also areas for boat launching, swimming, picnicking, bbqing, fishing and site seeing. I also often see many people bird watching.
CONS:
Parking: Not much spaces in the parking lot. Most of the time I would have to park on the street along the residential area.
Gnats: There are so many gnats in some area of the trails. But is it the great outdoors so there are bugs everywhere.
Beware: I heard of some sketchy people attacking female joggers. Becareful jogging by yourself when it is not too busy!
TIP: Come early to find parking.

Great park, run along the paved path along the lake or run in some terrain bending dirt trails through the forest. My favorite place to run! Great for dogs, families, seniors, and everyone in between. You may even spot some native turtles basking in the sun. Lifeguards at the beach during the summer months.

A wonderful park. Unilocal helped us find great places to visit during our trip to Seattle and there was no shortage of parks and outdoor trails to see. We watched a couple feed the ducks and birds when we arrived and then walked around the whole park, which is about 2.4 miles. There is a cute playground area for the kids (and me, a big kid who can’t resist the swings), gorgeous scenery overlooking the lake and the forest, wildlife, and nice walking/​running/​biking trails. The weather was beautiful and sunny when we visited and it was a lovely way to spend a few hours.

On a sunny day in Seattle, I far prefer strolling around Seward park than Greenlake. Here we have beautiful lake views all around and wooded trails to vary the scenery.
The park juts out into the lake and is unfortunately out of the way enough that I haven’t driven out here too many times to visit all the features. There are multiple picnic areas, playground, an outdoor amphitheater, and great views.
Other reviews touch on the parking. Overall I like this park and the views available around the 2.5 mile trail.

Seward Park is my favorite place in Seattle. I’m here often for a walk, or run, or just to get some fresh air. It’s beautiful, serene, and full of gorgeous and wonderful nature.
However, be careful. There’s a group of absolute professionals watching as you drive in and park. They watch you like a hawk to see if you’re taking anything with you, or in my case, leaving anything behind. Then in a flash, they’re busting your car window out and taking what they can, and they’re gone in seconds. Yes, it’s a nice neighborhood. No, this isn’t 3^rd Ave Downtown. Beware the false sense of security. Take all of your stuff with you when you go into the park, and then enjoy it for it’s splendor. Lesson learned.

Love this park. Its located on a peninsula kinda weird since it juts out into the lake like a thumb. The park is pretty easy to get to and parking was not really a problem. We took our bikes out for the short bike ride. There is a lot of people walking and running on the trail around the peninsula. Dogs are allowed also. Go on a nice clear day in the summer and you’ll see lots of boats on the water, the reflection of the sun hitting the water is just amazing. Larger beautiful trees on one side and lake washington on the other side, breath-​taking. There’s a little beach toward the top of the peninsula, it’s a must stop area where you can walk straight up to the calm water. Great place to stop and relax.

The park is beautiful with a waterfront, clean swimming water, forest walking trails and a creative playground design that is reminiscent of tree house. With the proper support and safety measures, it’s the kind of park you could envision as an outdoor preschool.
I have to also mention the people who were at the park, because they truly make it a welcoming place. There were 10 people who cordially said hello to us as my friend and I were on our walk. I mean big genuine smiles with a toothy grin hellos. It’s as if people are proud to have such a space and it made me swell up a bit.
And that’s my sappy review of Seward Park. I am definitely going back and will bring others.

Beautiful and huge park in South Seattle. I would come here more often if I lived closer, but Green Lake still takes the cake as my favorite because of awesomeness and location.
You will find a variety of activities to do at Seward Park, whether it’s swimming, running, having a picnic or just laying out in the sun. The views are amazing too! I’ve never been to Seafair, but now I get why they have it here. There were so many yachts out on the water, it made for a really awesome picture.
It’s pretty crowded on nice sunny days as expected, so you may have to park on the street if the lots are full. And apparently they have Bicycle Sundays where Lake Washington Blvd is closed. It didn’t affect me all that much, but just a heads up to others who usually drive on that road.

This has been one if my favorite places to go since I was a little girl. The 2.5 mile loop around the park is perfect if you’re looking to enjoy a peaceful walk. It is best to go in march/​April when the cherry blossoms are blooming throughout the park. This is a perfect place to bring the family and enjoy a day in the park!

Lovely park, and one of the best locations to walk along Lake Washington. If you walk around (literally) the main trail of the park, you walk a total of 2.4 miles. One loop never seems enough. If you feel adventurous, you can walk along Lake Washington Blvd. to take a long and lovely stroll.
Tips: It is a beautiful walk or jog, but during the month of March is truly spectacular with the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. It is also a good place for a picnic.

I visited this park for the first time today and it was nicer than I expected. Seeing the cute geese there with their babies was a cute surprise! The view of the ocean was beautiful on the main trail. Also, I loved the hiking trails. It was quiet and peaceful, with a good amount of inclination for a good workout. I’m definitely coming back here to get my cardio done.

This park has been great with hiking trails, water access, several picnic shelters, and an awesome playground.
Their is ample parking in the springtime, but I’m guessing it fills up in the summer on the weekends. This is a great place to take your dog for an easy hike. Their isn’t much change in elevation and not too many places to go but still fun.
So if you are in the area this is a solid park with several offerings for people of all ages and abilities.

On beautiful lake Washington, there is so much to do here. I can only imagine what kayaking is like here!
The trail is a decent 2.4 miles with scenic resting stops along the way. Benches overlook various view points on lake Washington.
Everything is well kept– playground, beach, bathrooms, etc. it feels safe, at least at my visits. Nothing loud, sketchy or rude.
I’ve never had a problem parking, though it does get tight at peak times.
Huge park within city limits, check it out.

A Birder’s Perspective:
My wife and I mainly visit parks and other outdoor spots so see and photograph birds so this review is from that perspective.
Seward park is a gorgeous mix of some deep forest trails and a lovely long loop around the water. It’s beautiful on both sunny and rainy days. It does however get crowded on sunny weekends especially in the areas near the parking lot and on the loop by the water.
Being a peninsula has some nice advantages in terms of species diversity. The water and forest edge offer species of many ducks, geese, cormorants, the occasional kingfisher, warblers, etc. Also a couple of bald eagle nests in the park so we can be seen soaring around. The forest trails have some beautiful nuthatches, chickadees, woodpeckers, sparrows and more. For me the biggest highlight of this park has to be the barred owl. There are a few sites in the forests where they can be seen if lucky and often heard in the late afternoon/​evening.
I’ve only been here a couple of times in the last month since I moved to Seattle but it surely looks like this is going to be a frequent haunt for me. Definitely recommended if you like to watch birds or just enjoy a nice beautiful scenic day outdoors.
