Specialties
We are a sports medicine chiropractic, sports massage, and acupuncture clinic specializing in healing athletes and everyday people and teaching them the skills to remain durable and pain-free long-term. We work one everything from shoulder injuries and knee pain to typical lower back pain and headaches. We take a hands on approach to rehabilitative and corrective exercises so that our patients lean an «owner’s manual» of movements to help correct their own condition.
History
Established in 2011.
Dr. Pond was an aspiring competitive rugby player in his youth. In the Fall of 2000 his life took a turn to sports medicine when he suffered a dislocated right shoulder and labrum tear which threatened to end his career. As an alternative to the recommended surgery, he designed a demanding and experimental shoulder rehab program that led him back onto the field stable and pain-free. It was the success of this experiment that lit the fire that culminated in the opening of Sports Medicine Northwest ten years later with his wife and acupuncturist Alicia Pond. Their vision was and is to combine their skills and knowledge to achieve that same level of success for all of their patients.
Dr. Pond no longer competes in rugby, but coaches their 8 year old son’s team and is a Regional Level Crossfit Competitor himself. Their clinic has expanded into a 9,000 sq foot space shared with their friends and coaches at Northwest Strength and Performance.

Business Owner
Dr. Pond’s life took a turn toward sports medicine in the year 2000 when he suffered an MRI confirmed labrum tear in his right shoulder while pursuing a passion in competitive rugby. He spurned the prevailing medical opinion that he’d never be the same without corrective surgery and opted to develop a demanding and experimental shoulder stabilization routine. he continued to play pain-free. It was the success of this experiment that inspired him to pursue a degree that would give him the opportunity to share that same level of success with as many people as possible. Dr. Pond is a resource to coaches and athletes who seek an alternative to injury care beyond rest, ibuprofen or surgery.
Dr. Pond graduated from The University of Western States with a doctorate in chiropractic in 2008. He continued his education at UWS to achieve the additional degree of Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and serves as the team physician of The Iron Club competition team.
