Star Nails

Got a mani/​pedi, and both are pretty mediocre. Nothing fancy, just red polish on the toes, pink on fingernails; nonetheless, my cuticles are bleeding and my polish is smeared. To top it off, it cost $ 41 (and I skipped the massage and heel sanding portion of the festivities). I’m sure they do something well, but my nails aren’t on the list. Hard pass for next time.

I come here to occasionally get my eyebrows and nails done. The service is great and the ambiance is very clean and relaxing. The people who work here are are very hard working and kind, usually do a great job as well with massage and all. I want to give 5 Stars, but I simply cannot. Star Nails is pricey compared to other nail shops that I go to in the area which i am fine with and will pay the extra. I even tip alittle on top because of the good service, which I have never done at any salon. I have been coming to Star for 2 years but recently the owner has scolded me about the amount that I tip. She’s done it twice and I think that is plain rude. The sign says «Tips Appreciated» not «Tips Mandatory». I have no problem throwing in extra but I think that it is unfair to be scolded about the amount extra, especially when price of service is already increased. It makes me uncomfortable about coming back.

This was my first time getting my acrylic nails done, I was scared it would look really ugly but it turned out really nice. Me and my friends all got «coffin» nails for our shape and this is personally my favorite nail shape. the place is much better looking on the inside than the outside. They have a fountain and nice furniture, much more classier than I excepted! The guy who did my nails was very nice and funny! Gave them a pretty big tip for doing such a good job! Coming back for sure.

Someone recommended Star Nails to me and I was not disappointed.
I walked in around 1 pm on a Saturday and I only had to wait for about 10 mins.
I am very picky when it comes to my nails and I was very pleased with the results.
Initially I was told it would be $ 35 for a full set, but an extra $ 5 was tacked on because I wanted two colors.

I just went and got my nails done a week ago. I found this place just by looking at review and the reviews for this place don’t lie. I was very impressed! I can been pretty picky when it comes to my nails. For starters I normally bit my nails so when it comes to getting my nails done these places don’t have much to work with. I also like my nails to be super short and very thin so they look as natural as posible. Everyone at this salon worked together to help each other out which was also really nice to see and they all made sure that I was comfortable and made sure I liked what they were doing.
I live in West Seattle but I will be coming back to this location to get my nails done.

Love my eye brow lady! I dont have an arch at all, she is the only one that can do my eye brows to my liking. Im always satisfied whenever I leave.

After years of searching, I’ve finally found a local nails salon that delivers to my high expectations. Kelly always does amazing work and I never ever feel rushed so she can get to the next customer. She always take her time and is happy to redo a nail if I end up not liking the design or color. If you want great customer service and amazing quality, KELLY is who you need to go!

Came here a week ago and this place is huge! Don’t let the outside fool you. There is only street parking. I came in and was told to choose a color. I was getting a fill and a pedicure. After choosing out a color I was seated right away in a pedicure chair. Kim did my pedicure. Such a sweet lady. She took her time (which is good). She did such an awesome job. Her english wasn’t too good but I could understand what she was trying to say. I then had my fill done by Kelly. Very nice girl. She did a fantastic job. Very thorough.

Star Nails is a delightful Rainier Beach treat. The big, comfy massage chairs have got your back covered, but should they miss a spot, don’t worry– the shoulder massage at the end of your manicure releases any lingering tension.
My legs and feet feel like newborn babies after their sea salt scrub-​down. One of my feet has higher arches and takes more abuse from normal walking, so the extra attention to my arches during the foot massage was heavenly.
My toes got a base coat, bright green China Glaze polish, and a top coat to finish it off. I asked for no polish on my nails, so I could use my Espionage Cosmetics wraps from ECCC, and Hanna instead gave them a stunning buff.
I cannot wait for my next visit!

Took my 13 year old daughter here for a mani pedi before a special event. They didn’t treat her like a kid with a quickie job but did a quality job for both of us including lovely mature looking decorations for free on her.

The shop is beautiful! And if they can take you they will! I got squeezed in last minute on Sunday and Hannah did great job on my shellac manicure!

I came here the day before my wedding with one of my bridesmaids and the flower girl (her daughter). We were all getting manicures and pedicures and had such a good experience. We made an appointment ahead of time, and when we arrived there were more than enough people working; I don’t know if that’s because we made an appointment or because they’re always well-​staffed, but it was great. We didn’t have to wait at all and our nails were done at the same time, rather than us having to go separately.
They were also great with the flower girl and thought she was adorable; one of the women working even took a selfie with her. As we were getting ready to leave, the aforementioned flower girl accidentally stepped on my foot, smudging my pedicure, and they happily fixed it for me when I asked. Immediately after that, I realized one of my fingernails was needing to be filed or cut because it was a bit sharp (and I’m apparently annoying) and they gladly took care of that, too. They didn’t even seem annoyed, which most people probably would have been (I was annoying myself, let’s be real).
My bridesmaid ended up making a last-​minute decision to get her eyebrows waxed, which only cost $ 12. It looked great and I’d definitely consider coming here for that as well if I ever decide to start getting my brows waxed again.
Parking is just street parking, which isn’t ideal, but we were able to find a spot very easily. I will definitely be back!

I was able to make an appointment for 2 mani and pedis for and friend and I just a couple hour ahead of time. Got lost and arrived late and the staff was still very attentive and kind us. Place looks much nicer than it may appear on the outside. This shouldn’t discourage you from checking them out.

Went in here the other day with a friend for shellac manicures. We were acknowledged and seated right away (which was nice because we did not make any appointments). Don’t let the exterior of the building fool you like it did me — it is huge inside! The interior is incredibly nice and organized, and gives a great relaxing aura.
I greatly enjoyed my manicure; the nail tech, Hannah, was precise and took her time and she was extremely friendly. She also gave me a small back/​shoulder/​arm massage while waiting for the shellac top coat to dry followed by a hand rub and a hot towel.
I’ve tried at least 10 different nail salons within the past year and have have not found «my» nail salon quite yet. I have a very good feeling that this may be the place! I’m definitely coming back.

Love them plus it’s really nice inside I’ll be going here from now on!!!

They did an amazing job on my nails she was on point with everything I asked for couldn’t of had a better experience with them that’s 4 sure!

I have been going to this business for ten years for one service– eyebrow waxing. Lee is the owner at Star Nails and she is a perfectionist at eyebrow waxing. I have not found anyone in ten years who can give me a guaranteed perfect eyebrow wax every time. Here is the catch. This is a difficult review for me to write due to my history with this business. Star nails is in a low income neighborhood and you are almost certainly going to encounter unpleasant and loud people. Over the last 10 years Lee has upgraded her salon to a very clean and impressive interior design. However, the location hasn’t changed and that is tough for me. I have tried the manicure and pedicure services and they are terrible. A young man serviced me and my nails were crooked, uneven and poorly painted. I feel terrible for Lee because she is a hard working business woman and she is really trying to maintain a professional business. Unfortunately, until the location changes I do not believe she will be able to avoid certain distractions that take away from the feeling of being pampered. I have shared these grievances with the business owner and wish her the best.

My husband and I love Star Nails! They are always so welcoming and know exactly what we want the second we walk in the door. They say hi by name and feels very personal. Most recently, they were scheduled to close in 30minutes but I urgently needed 3 services done. They gladly stayed open to help me and this will go a long way! Thank you for always proving great service and friendly smiles. :)

Star nails is one of my favorite places to get my nails done! the customer service is great, the owners are so sweet and remember me and my family from when we first started coming years ago.
The place has a calming and relaxing setting with nice massage chairs, everyonr very nice and gentle. Love coming back again and again. Lots of choices for nail color too whih is nice for me who can never pick which one to choose! all in all really great!

I have been looking for a new nail salon to go to since I moved & I have found my new favorite place!
Everyone there was so welcoming and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I came in close to closing and expected them to rush on my nails but they took their time and made my nails look flawless. (I am really picky)
I would recommend this nail salon to all my friends!
