Sun Construction

We just finished major remodeling/​addition project. Sun Construction’s president Dave Nemec is very tricky to deal with. He delayed the project by 2 months and also sent me lots of invoices without giving me estimates on the jobs first and not according to the contract.
First 2 weeks of the project he was not progressing at all, and next month was also slow. He kept telling us that he will catch up but never did. Lots of promises and emotional ups and downs.
It took him 5 months to do 3 month project. In the middle of the project we had to enforce a fine for every day that he would delay longer than the finish date (that he agreed to).
Dave Nemec would require us to pay ahead of time and we did, thinking this would make him happy and speed things up.
All the way through the project he kept telling us that he doesn’t have money and needs more money to pay subs and materials.
Bottom line: Though Dave and his team did finish the project with acceptable quality, but I would not recommend to hire him for a big project (and for any project that takes more than a week). Organization and time management skills are terrible.
