Richard J. Symmes, Esq. is a Seattle native and the principal attorney at Symmes Law Group, PLLC. Mr. Symmes currently focuses his practice on bankruptcy and debt settlement matters and is an experienced bankruptcy advocate, having filed and prepared hundreds of bankruptcy petitions prior to starting his own firm. Mr. Symmes is also well versed in business, trademark, and sports and entertainment matters. Prior to forming Symmes Law Group, PLLC Mr. Symmes was an associate attorney at two respected law firms in Denver, Colorado where his practice primarily involved bankruptcy, business and insurance defense. While in law school Mr. Symmes clerked at All Pro Sports and Entertainment in Denver, Colorado, where he participated in the representation of marquee NFL and PGA athletes in player grievances, endorsement contracts, standard player contracts, business incorporations and trademark disputes.

I had a hard time finding a lawyer to help me settle some school loan debts. I don’t even know how I stumbled upon Richard Symmes but I saw all the great reviews so I decided to give him a call. He was really patient as I explained him my situation and answered all my questions. I decided to shop around for an attorney and found Symmes Law Group after initially planning to enter into an agreement with a different attorney. I read some of the reviews on Symmes Law Group and decided to call. I was impressed that Richard Symmes answered the my call personally and proceeded to answer a number of questions I had concerning the specifics of my situation. I was very pleasantly surprised that he patiently and thoughtfully answered every question that I had, including billing rate questions, without requiring me to pay any money. At the conclusion of my phone consultation with Mr. Symmes, I knew I would be hiring Symmes Law Group and scheduled a date to meet with him.
It was a 2 month process for Mr. Symmes to help me through my legal situation and I was very impressed with his representation from start to finish. He was very professional, knowledgeable and attentive and I felt his fee was very reasonable and well deserved. I contacted Mr Symmes partly on what i saw in the reviews on Unilocal.Unfortunately, I discovered that he basically pushed me to do a Debt Settlement plan or Chapter 13 and never discussed Ch 7 as an option. I have since discovered that Ch 7 is a viable option for me. Besides all this his fees were twice what it is for other lawyers in the area. Before deciding to go with this law group. Talk to a few others. There are better options out there.
