Food was fresh, the lotus stem salad was a big hit and it isn’t easy to find here. Phở was hot and large quantity, broth was good not excellent, flavor good not excellent. Decent neighborhood choice, convenient location.

From simple appappetizer to main dishes is on point! Fresh ingredient and friendly service every time I’ve come here. Lemon grass tofu vermicelli noodle bowl and grilled beef rib rice plate are a must!

This place stays open a little longer than some of the other Vietnamese/Phở places around the area. So, where do you go after you’ve just had surgery? This place. True, I was hungry, but the phở here is really good and the cha gio is also really good. not as good as mom’s, but good. My friend liked his entrée a lot as well, he cleaned it up «I didn’t realize how hungry I was!» Some people have commented on poor service and lack of communicative skills from the staff. To me this just showcases how«Vietnamese» this place is. Typically, they will bring your food and leave you alone to eat. I personally like that. The owner may not have spoken English, but if you’re at a Vietnamese restaurant. make a little effort to respect them and be cordial with the staff. If you need something, just ask. I like this place and am glad I happened upon it. I will be back.

Surprise hit! We were skeptical when there were no customers at 12:30 on a Saturday, but sat down anyway. Server/owner(?) was not exactly welcoming, but efficient and let the food do the talking. ;) Food 4.5÷5: Phở — rich base broth with a great balance of spices and good umami! They also serve both cilantro and basil along with the normal bean sprouts, jalapeño, lime. There was not enough meat in the phở tai — ask for an extra portion or try one of the other combos or you’ll be hungry soon after. Vermicelli bowl — fantastic grilled pork with just the right caramelization, but again a skimpy portion of meat compared to most we have had elsewhere. Service and atmosphere 3.5÷5: See above.

The best phở soup I’ve had and I’ve tried many phở places; the fried tofu was nice and fresh, big portions; typically the fried tofu from other places are small and hard; their fried roll was freshly made and very tasty; nice clean atmosphere; décor is nice; the host was not as inviting but the food surely made up for it; try them, you won’t regret it;

Food is not worth the money. And the service is bad. I made my food to go. And there was not fork, spoon and napkin, just the box itself. Never gonna come back again!

The food is average here. Prices around about $ 10 per entrée. This only one woman manning the restaurant. Her English is very poor and you have to ask her for everything. She doesn’t attend to the tables a lot. She always just tells you that she is busy… Aren’t we all? We also had a restaurant gift certificate from that said we can use it whenever as long we purchased at least $ 50 worth. She wouldn’t honor our certificate. She started yelling at us and saying they don’t take the coupons on the weekdays, which the coupon doesn’t say mention at all. She also wouldn’t work with me to contact certificate company to try to figure things out. Ended paying full price. Never coming back

I just went here to get stir-fried noodles. There was probably enough noodles for three good bites… the portion is so small(especially for a $ 13 price tag)! The service is also not very good – it seems like they are doing YOU a favor by taking your order and preparing your food. And the chicken in my stir-fry was really gross tasting. I don’t think I’ll ever come back again.(Now that I’ve read the other reviews, I think I know why my portion was so small. Since it was a to-go order, I didn’t leave a tip and did notice that she made a face. I didn’t realize, however, that this would mean she would give me less food!)

Good bah-mi, terrible service! I went into this place to order a sandwich to go and the hostess at the desk barely looked up from her phone to toss a menu at me. She rudely asked the people sitting at a table if they were done. When I pulled out my card to order, she was very quick to let me know about the card surcharge and pointed to the sign on her register. Due to her rudeness, I figured I would just go, but then she removed the charge. I figured she was just rude to everyone and chalked it up bad service or a bad day, but then two older, well –dressed white women came in and her attitude immediately switched. Suddenly she was attentive and smiling. Not ok. It’s obvious she only thought it was important to give good service to some customers(customers who look like they might have more money to spend) and not to others. The food was good, but I won’t be back. I’m not going to give my money to a place that treats me like a a second class citizen.

Everything is pretty good here. I love their stuff squid dish. Their mango salad was good but the mango was on the ripe sweet side not sour green like I would prefer. Vermicelli bowls are good too.

I wanted something«light» for dinner. I ordered the Tangerine Tree pancake, an appetizer, which, according to the menu consists of a rice flour/egg shell with«pork, shrimp, shitake mushrooms, bean sprouts, onion and covered with coconut milk.» Mine had NO shitake mushrooms, onion or coconut milk. I asked the hostess/cashier about it and we played a version of «Who’s on first.» She kept saying no shitake mushroom and I was saying«yes, there were no shitake mushrooms.» She was of the opinion that the pancake didn’t come with the mushrooms, despite the evidence of the menu. The pork in the dish consisted of six pieces of pork with the dimensions of 2 inches by ½ inch by ¼ inch. The shrimp consisted of 2 medium shrimp, sliced horizontally. All for $ 10.92, including tax. The hostess/cashier charged me the full price and took a menu and crossed off«shitake mushrooms.» What a joke. BEWARE!

Considering your options are limited to Ballet and this place on Capitol Hill, when it comes to Vietnamese, you got a decent all around place. Obviously ID and other parts of Seattle have way better options, but it is reasonably priced, has friendly service and decent food. I recommend it if you are in the area. Otherwise, go to other parts of Seattle for better Vietnamese.

Starting with the food… My chicken vermicelli smelled exactly like poop. I thought I was being crazy at first and didn’t say anything, but my friends started saying they thought someone popped their pants… nope it was my food. I couldn’t eat a single bite. My friend had his sesame chicken drowning in a slop of high fructose corn syrup. None of us could eat our food… Sitting here at the restaurant and compelled to write a review while here still because the woman working the dining room is extremely apathetic and rude. Haven’t had a wait staff person like this in a while. She makes you feel like you’ve done something cruel to her, as if being here is a big bother. Won’t be coming back. Watch out for the hateful, careless glares you’ll get if you come here… because you most definitely are not welcome. And you don’t want your food smelling like poop do you?

I had to call ahead to be sure they were open, because I came here a month ago around 6pm for dinner but for no apparent reason they closed right as I got there. The nice thing about this place is they are situated above QFC which means there is a big parking lot(free 30 mins). The food was pricier than other Vietnamese establishments but at least I could tell the vegetables they used were fresh and clean. My only issue with this place is their poor business practices that ensued when the server/owner lady found out that we were using a $ 50 gift card. I noticed her speaking in another language(Vietnamese I presume) to the employees in the kitchen, but my experience wasn’t ruined until another customer sitting behind me helped me translate what was being said: she was constantly reminding the cooks to reduce the portion size because we’d be ordering a lot of food through a voucher! I’m assuming they treat«regular paying customers» more equally but regardless I still couldn’t believe what I heard especially since honestly it was redeemable for only three entrees anyway :/

So I’m coming from not eating all day so I decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant. I was a bit skeptical at first because it’s actually kind of hard to find. You have to go to the second floor of the building and it is right above the QFC, so not at street level despite the sign being there. The place is pretty small but still gives off a nice ambient atmosphere. The service here is incredibly nice. The waitress here is very thoughtful and talking with her is very pleasant. It’s very small but very well organized; the waitress was constantly tidying things up, not to the point of being distracting, but just keeping things clean while also keeping an eye on the door. I had the vermicelli noodles combo and it was absolutely delicious. There were a lot of vegetables which given I needed my greens was a welcome sight. Will definitely be coming back here for the service!

I had only had take out from here in the form of delicious, delicious Bahn mi sandwiches. Recently I was able to amend that, and on recommendation from a friend I also got spring rolls– these are amazing. Most have pretty similar ingredients, but Tangerine Tree kicks theirs up with a rolled crisp fried spring roll wrapper? Won ton bit? It is a great texture contrast. The peanut sauce is great, too. Ingredients taste and look fresh and blend really well. I’m looking forward to trying more on the menu! Beer and wine only.

Decided to try out the place since it’s so close to work. Got there around dinner time(6ish) and it was about half full. It’s kind of dim but the place overall is really clean compared to the other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. I had the vermicelli rice noodles with grilled pork and an egg roll and it was pretty delicious. Pretty satisfying! The only knock I have against Tangerine Tree is the price. I paid a little more than $ 10 after tip. They do charge you an extra .50 cents if your order was under $ 10. It’s not a deal breaker, but I figure that should be noted. Overall, good place I would come back.

A little hole in the wall phở joint conveniently located next to the ups store and a drugstore. With a wide selection of food choices I’ve only had the chicken bowl with added vegetables! It’s quite delicious, I add in the sauces to my liking. What I especially love about this place is the fresh coconut water, It comes with fresh coconut meat in the water! It’s pretty amazing. Tangerine Tree is also affordable. Every-time I’ve eaten here, I always have the same sweet waitress! :) Definitely coming back here and I recommend to my friends and to you!!!

First time here. The place was completely empty when I got there but people started trickling in once it got closer to dinner time. The restaurant was fairly small with an ambient atmosphere and dim lighting. I like how everything was well organized and pretty darn clean! The prices here were a little higher than the average Vietnamese/Phở restaurant. Also all of the appetizers came in pieces of 4 so the option of ordering a cheaper and smaller dish was not available. When I tried to place an order, the waitress was in the corner eating and had her mouth full so she simply nodded after I told her what I wanted. Also the service was nonexistent– no water refills, no checking up to see how the food was, etc. The food was good. I’m always a fan of Phở on a cold winter’s day. I got a small chef’s special. A small here is actually a small! Usually a small at a Phở place is a regular since there’s no option for a medium. The size simply jumps up to a large. If you want a quick and relatively cheap meal, this is the place to come. Though don’t expect the biggest bang for your buck or the best customer service.

The food here is not bad but their phở broth is really salty and full of msg. They also have a really limited selection of meat, they didn’t have fatty flank or tripe. It’s also kind of pricey, $ 8.50 for a bowl Phở places are very common in capital hill and this one doesn’t really stand out compared to the others. Their biggest draw is that they have free parking because they are attached to the qfc.
