The Queene Anne Towne Collection is more than an apartment complex!
I moved to Seattle a year ago. Suffice it to say I was not only in search of a safe clean beautiful well organized /​wonderful location and «friendly «place to live, but searching for a home away from home.
I can promise you that if I did not choose the Towne apartments my transition could never have been as wonderful /​effortless and exciting as it has been.
I owe so much of the success of my moving and relocation at mid life to Gaalya, Sarah, Luna and Chris for providing fantastic information, tours of beautiful amenities and friendly inviting environment at the Queen Anne Apartments.
I walk into the rental office every single morning and not only do I get my «morning hot delicious coffee» compliments of the Towne, but I receive a friendly happy good morning and that is every reason in the world to be happy here at the Towne.
The rooftops, media room, outside BBQ area, work out /​fitness room are always clean and accessible and if your lucky enough to have your neighbors available even better (I knew no-​one before I moved in!).
Thank you Towne apartments in Queene Anne for working so hard to keep everyone under your roof happy satisfied safe and sound and most important part of your rental community family.

I currently live in 7 Hills and there’s not much to complain about. Of all the apartments I’ve lived in, this is definitely the nicest. The appliances are pretty new, the walls, floors and cabinets are in great shape — not surprising since the building is only a couple of years old. I was nervous about the overall soundproofing, but after 10 months I can say that hardly anything can be heard through those walls.
The maintenance and cleaning staff is absolutely awesome. They’re totally on top of it and just the nicest people you’ll ever meet!
We recently switched office staff. I haven’t had much interaction with them, but every time I have it’s been courteous and friendly. They’ve been very communicative on the resident portal, which I appreciate very much, and they’re quick to respond to issues or resident concerns. They’ve slowly been adding amenities and updating other options for residents.
Great neighbors! Mostly young professional types, but there are a number of families as well. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with everyone I’ve met. Occasionally you get the loud TV next to the open window, but it’s so infrequent that I don’t mind. Everyone should be able to let loose in their home!
There’s a new doggie wash center! Cannot express how awesome this is. I’ve had to unclog my drain several times because of the baths I gave my dog, but now that’s a thing of the past!
The apartments are admittedly small, but that’s not unique to Queen Anne Collection. I think more than 600 sq ft is a luxury in this city.
In all honesty, the only real downside is the traffic noise. Unless you face the west towards Magnolia, you get Queen Anne Ave N traffic, which is an unholy nightmare of city sounds when your windows are open. Trucks roll through at all hours, people and kids shout up and down the sidewalk like they’re in a mall, power washers come in at 5:30 in the morning. There’s no «quiet» time, which isn’t always great in the summer with no A/​C. Still, we do live in the city and it’s to be expected! To offset the noise, you have the benefit of Safeway and Trader Joe’s across the street and several major bus lines that stop in front of the building.
I’ve enjoyed my time here and, barring an outrageous fee hike, I’ll probably be renewing! Queen Anne is a beautiful place and these apartments are perfectly located in the center of it all.

I cannot speak to the quality of the Towne Apartment, as my wife and I decided not to move in. But, I will express dissatisfaction with the poor customer service associated with signing agreements.
Complete lack of communication regarding day to day variations in rental unit pricing. Poor follow through on agreed upon questions or requests. The rental unit that was being proposed to us had a tremble caused by the Trader Joe’s refrigeration unit.
A «non-​vibrating» unit that was being «held» for us was literally sold in front of our face to a couple who agreed to rent sight unseen. We share responsibility for this, as we didn’t have money down to reserve it, although this was never requested of us.
If the rental management process is reflective of the quality of life at the Towne, this would be a hard spot to spend 12+months of your life.

First of all, I have to say that the maintenance and cleaning staff deserves five stars. They have been nothing sort of awesome. Prompt, professional, and very helpful — even on a Sunday! This is not a new or fancy building, but they keep it running well.
Occasionally, there have been issues with our elevator, which is a big problem for the neighbors that cannot take the stairs and I can’t overlook or dismiss that. However, I believe the elevator is managed by a different company so I do not hold it against the building staff.
Secondly, I haven’t had much experience with the management staff but it’s ranged from «non-​existent» to «neglectful.» There’s an online system to pay rent and request maintenance services that mostly works. Since mail and packages are delivered directly to the resident, I think that leaves relatively little for management to handle and yet it has been surprisingly difficult to renew our lease.
I’ve lived in apartments for most of my life and haven’t had this issue come up before, even a little bit. I’m definitely disappointed, and it’s the location, pleasant neighbors, and stellar service staff that keep me from dropping this review to a single star.

Worst experience, once you sign a lease you are just an apartment number and a monthly rent check.
Pros: location, maintenence service
Cons:
~ I was told Direct TV would be available in April, scheduled install guys — they said equipment was not istalled to have Direct TV, after trying to work with staff, I was finally told no Direct TV was available here, in November — 6 months later! Your classic bait and switch maneuver to get one into a lease and not perform on their end.
~gym and patio equipement wasn’t ready for 2 month after building opened — again no communication it was available, you just had to figure it out.
~Seattle City Lights meters and bills were not ready for 6 months as the meters weren’t separated. The bills are now coming through at back dated amounts. Same with water, trash and sewer.
~elevators wern’t working for some time, no communication for a week from management. Decided to take the stairs to realize anyone had full access to the building through an unlocked door. Came across a homeless man sleeping in the stair well, I was terrified at 6:30 Monday morning– notified staff. Over month later I came across another sleeping bag, gateorade bottles and milk cartons. I physically walked management staff to show them how people got access, the response was «oh yes this door should be locked.» It took over a month to get the door locked. No communication to the rest of the residents regarding this issue. I still have videos and pics on how to enter the building prior to the door being locked in case anything happened to anyone. I was/​still am terrified to take the stairs.
~sewer spill in parking garage for 2 days — again no communication from the staff
~cabinets are shotty, they don’t line up, some drawers don’t open and close easily and this is a brand new building
~very noisy and beyond just living on the main street, the semi’s that come all hours of the night and morning delivering to safeway and trader joes.
The answers I received were when I spoke with and tried to work with management were «I’m sorry» nothing can be done. The staff and property management company have no concern about the safety, health or satisfaction of it’s residents at all. I’m more than disappointed with my decision to live here; nobody should ever hate to come home.

This review is for TOWNE.
We were some of the first residents to move in. As such, we understood there would be some kinks to work out, but over 4.5 months later, things still haven’t been figured out.
Pros: Location is nice.
Cons:
We had to go to the office multiple times to sign documents they forgot to have us sign. Then they couldn’t figure out how much our rent was.
While things look new, under the surface they are poor quality. The craftsmanship is really lacking. Handles on cabinets aren’t on straight, cabinet doors fall of their hinges. Dishwasher wasn’t turned on so we ran it dry the first time. Light switches are at different heights in every room. Fan in the bathroom randomly decides to work or not. Dishwasher is tiny, and in a location where you can’t open cupboards next to it. Appliances are the cheapest models you could find. Doors in the bathroom slam into each other.
We have a unit which faces the courtyard and alley. You get woken up every morning at 6am when the delivery trucks arrive for the retail stores. Anytime people are in the courtyard blasting music you can hear that as well.
The elevators. This is the biggest sh*tshow I’ve ever seen. Rarely do both elevators work (nevermind how inconvenient it is to have one elevator in a building that is a block long). For a week or so neither of them worked. Then they put up flyers promising to make it better. Well, as of today one of them has been down for over 10 days with no word on its return. But hey, they’ll give you some free coffee during work hours to make up for it! The other Saturday, while only one elevator was working, we had to wait for 3 trips for it because the cleaning lady was in it with her entire cart, taking up 2/​3rds of the space. Then, while we’re riding in it, she continued dusting over my wife’s head! Free dust showers!
Hopefully, if you’re looking to live here, you find this review and find a different place to live.

From the outside and initial look, the apartments are very nice. The entrance is nice, as it’s a new building the appliances are new, and it’s a pretty clean place to lives. However, having been here several months now there is much to be desired. In my opinion, when you are paying nearly $ 3,000 per month for a two bedroom apartment you should expect a certain level of detail and professionalism. Here are my thoughts
Pros:
— Great location: Trader Joe’s opened in August which is awesome. The 13 bus is right across the street which takes you downtown very quickly. Literally everything is in walking distance including the summer street fair, restaurants, shops, Safeway and even Kerry Park isn’t too far.
— Rooftop decks. Okay so they aren’t amazing but still there is a grill and some nice outside furniture that makes hanging out and watching the sunset pretty amazing.
— There is a gym in the building: It’s nice, clean, has two treadmills, two ellipticals, a weight machine and some free weights. It would be nice if they added some heavy free weights as the highest dumb bell is 35 pounds. Gym is only okay
— Maggy is the leasing office manager and she is really great.
Cons:
— We are on the 5^th floor with a nice balcony overlooking Queen Anne Ave although it is a shared space. When we toured the place the front office person said they would put up a nice divider on the balcony so that it felt like our own, so that we would have some privacy. A few months in, after nothing had been put in, they told us that they had decided not to put in a divider but we could purchase something on our own if desired. Ummm okay. So our neighbors are REALLY nice but still my kids walk out and then can look into the neighbors house. It’s weird and now we have to be nervous to go on our own balcony which is one of the reasons we paid such a high price
— The parking garage: We have had not one, but TWO flat tires from large screws left in the parking garage. One time my wife and two kids were stuck in a very compromised location because of this. Since then, we have picked up over 100 screws and put them on the leasing managers desk. When we asked for them to reimburse us for the new tire, they said they would only cover half. We continue to find screws and have spoken to other people who have had flat tires.
— The garbage area: For some reason I thought they told us there would be a garbage drop area on each floor but maybe I was mistaken. You have to take your trash to the second floor, walk to the end of the hallway, then out to the loading dock. The lighting is horrible and I would definitely not want my daughters to do it themselves.
— The intercom system: Although we moved in to the apartments in June, the intercom system that connects to the outside of the apartments were installed in October. So anytime someone came to our house we would have to walk to the main entrance to leave them in. Not a huge deal but annoying when the system was in place, was sold to us before we moved in, and was installed four months later.
— Elevators: As in the previous reviews, the elevator situation is a nightmare. We live on the 5^th floor and have two young kids. It’s impossible to drag our huge stroller up and down the stairs on days when it is broken so my wife is extremely inconvenienced. Although they posted an apology letter, it doesn’t go far enough. And in the letter it deflected blame by saying, «Although it’s not uncommon for new apartments to have elevator issues, we…» Well I would say that at this price point you should have the BASIC services figured out.

Do not rent here unless you enjoy taking the stairs.
The building is very new but construction is shoddy. Many details that look nice on the surface are really poorly made and poorly designed upon closer review.
As an example, the elevators in this building break down several times each week. This is a safety issue for the disabled and a great inconvenience for others. Imagine living on the 4^th or 5^th floor of a building with elevators that are out of service several times each week. Imagine trying to move in dragging your items up several flights of stairs.
The stated reason that the elevators break down so often has to do do with a design defect that causes them to go out. The reported reason for them breaking so very often is that there are sensors that shut them down if they go too fast or slow or if they hit a railing while going up or down. The claim is that this has been caused by the new building settling after they installed the elevators. Whatever the reason, in a brand new building this should not be happening.
In addition if your apartment windows face the alley in the back, this is a VERY LOUD place to live. The trucks and service vehicles beep and make noise from as early as 4 am.
