Lovely owner. Great selection of Turkish delights. They are all hand made. Also some selection of fast food. Overall good quick pick me up

We basically ate everything on their menu today! Not only was everything well-priced and served with a great view but the owners are SO friendly and clearly know what they’re doing! We loved the lentil soup and even had to order a second bowl! The lamb stew over rice was divine and perfectly spiced and the kebabs were huge, messy and delicious. We also ordered 6 pieces of Turkish delight(lots of yummy flavored and all homemade!) and then picked up another half pound on the way back out of the market. Don’t skip the candies, especially the rose. Also, be sure to come with an empty stomach!

Loved the borek, the lentil soup, the turkish coffee, baklava, and the turkish delight. Friendly service, open-air seating with view of Pike Place Market. Cash only — come prepared!

The meat is halal Alhamdulilah. We had the lamb and chicken borek. They were delicious! The pastry was soft and flaky — divine! Don’t let the décor put you off the food is great!

The food is simple but incredible. We had the lamb stew, lentil soup and chicken kebab. There are so many spices, but it isn’t overwhelming, and it’s all very fresh. The women behind the counter are so sweet and helpful, and keep the restaurant very clean. They’re also helpful with explaining the somewhat exotic menu, and are definitely patient. The only drawback is the cash or check only payment method, but there’s an ATM over by the market entrance. They put so much love into this place, and it’s easy to see :)

I really like their lentil soup. It is amazing! The best I’ve had! But then again, I don’t have much to compare it to since I’m from San Jose, CA. The land of tacos and burritos. I’ve also had their chicken borek and baklava and it’s equally as good. I only sampled their Turkish delights and bought them as souvenirs for my geeky friends who’ve read/watch the Narnia series. Whenever I’m at Seattle, I make time to drop by this establishment because it’s a mom and pop shop and I support those types of businesses because I’m a hippie. And that’s how I roll. I think next time I’m in Seattle and I have my niece and nephews with me then I’d probably drag them here for some Turkish delights so I can lecture them about the Chronicles of Narnia and have them hooked on phonics while they load up on sugar. Or maybe I’ll sell the kids to the White Witch for some lentil soup money a la Hansel and Gretel style. I kid of course! I’ve already sold the children in exchange for tacos.

Semra is amazing! This place is family operated and definetely a gem in Seattle. Besides their turkish sweets where they specialize in, they have the best lentil soup as well as chicken kebab! Everyone works really hard to keep everyone sattisfied. Oh, and did you also know that you can get some grocery items such as Turkish Coffee, Tea, and Grape leaves? Amazing spot that I will never forget.

A bowl with rice over chicken with lentil soup its just awsome. And Baklava is at its best. Lady at the counter is really courteous. Love it. Great for lunch. Only bad thing is they dont accept credit cards. Its cash or check.

The Turkish delight was delish! I’ve never had the privilege of trying fresh made Turkish delight. For me, the boxed kind was always just«meh.» This stuff was on point. Only about $.50 a piece so why not give it a try? I recommend the berry. If I get a chance to return, I’ll try something from their deli and they may just get that extra star! :)

Some of the best Turkish delight I’ve ever had. Fresh, fruity, and pillowy soft. They make it every day and then sell out. By the time we got there in the afternoon today, the only had lychee, rose, and peach. They were all yummy, but I was thrilled with the lychee Turkish delight. My Turkish brother in law and sister also had a lovely conversation in Turkish with the woman who started her business here 33 years ago. We also tried the almond baklava which was also wonderful.

all i ever get here is baklava(I’ve tried all their flavors), turkish coffee, and turkish delights. All three things are perfect especially the baklava. i fancy myself a baklava connoisseur and this place is the best I’ve ever had. another Unilocaler wrote about the owner having a mother in law vibe and its true. i feel like she’s disapproving of my ordering baklava before dinner, or that I’m checking out her daughter too long, or I’m not spending enough money, etc etc.

Visited the store twice but only tried the walnut baklava which was amazing. If I’m ever in the area again I will make a bee line for Turkish Delight for some walnut baklava. The pastry was golden brown and flaky with just enough sweetness from the honey and walnut crumble. Delicious. Service is excellent. People often bring flowers purchased in the market into restaurants here. The pollen and water leave marks on wooden tables so some restaurants post signs to not set the flowers on the tables. The owner offered a vase to a customer with flowers who was preparing to sit at a table. He didn’t get the hint and refused twice but the woman he was with caught on and took the vase. The public market is a busy place and the flowers are sold right across the street so she probably sees this frequently. The owner was friendly and pleasant during the whole exchange and didn’t seem annoyed at all. A very gracious lady. They also sell huge bags of walnuts and if I lived in Seattle, I’d buy them right here. Great little Turkish deli.

First, a heads up — this place is really more representative of Turkish döner than the German variety most people are used to. The vegetables are bigger and heavy on tomato/cucumber and the meat tastes just like I was in Istanbul. Absolutely delicious food. I got a chicken döner, baklava, and Turkish Delight for the bus ride home. The ladies running the joint are so sweet and authentic. I’d argue that the price is about 15% more than I’d like to pay, but it’s so good that I’ll keep going back.

My husband, some friends and I were walking around Pike St. trying to determine what we were going to eat. We walked by this place and knew we had to try it. The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly. The staff even brought us each a piece of Turkish delight to try for free! Definitely coming back here again!

Summary: Nothing special. Food: We purchased Curryworst with fries, a Reuben, and Potato’s with sauerkraut. Honestly none of it was all that good. To admit, a friend said she really enjoyed the Reuben but to me it was bland. Don’t look for a balanced meal here as vegetables are hard to come by. Perhaps the food here just isn’t honed to my palette selection. Service: Cheerful, although a bit slow on the service. It wasn’t overly busy so I can’t imagine the delay on a busy summer day. Value: Fine prices for what you get. Location: Convenient to Pike’s Place. Communal seating right next to the door and partially in the path between entry and the store. Felt more like an afterthought seating area than planned for. Comments: Only reviewing their hot food options, not their packaged/deli selection.

I only ordered two small desserts from here. So my review won’t be too in depth. Food: Baklava: My five stars essentially are solely for their baklava. Good lord, this stuff is so good! Their baklava is PERFECT. If you haven’t experienced baklava, you have to do so and do yourself a huge favor and get it from the best place. Turkish Delight: I only came to this place because of the Chronicles or Narnia. I found it good, but it really wasn’t my thing. Come here for the baklava! Service: Very friendly and the woman working their was very easy on the eyes.

After attending the Chocolate Festival at the Bell Harbor center, my girlfriend and I decided to stop in to Turkish Delight and get a quick bite to eat. We wanted to share a beef doner kebab, but they were all out of the beef, so we ordered a chicken doner kebab. The place was kind of crowded and only one person was working so our food took a while. When we got the kebab, it was underwhelming(given the many high reviews on Unilocal). The chicken was dry and bland, and nothing else inside of the kebab was exceptional. Maybe the Turkish Delight is good, but I didn’t get it because I’m not a fan of it. When I was younger and saw the Chronicles of Narnia, I thought that Turkish Delight must taste incredible because Edmund sold out his siblings for it. I tried some as soon as I could, and was incredibly disappointed. Maybe the point of the story is that he didn’t need much incentive to betray them. Digression over. The food we had at Turkish Delight was okay, but I don’t think I’d go back again.

Tucked away at the end of Pike Place Market, this restaurant is a fun find for someone exploring the area! My coworker and I hopped over to the Market around 11:30AM to try and beat the lunch crowd. but we were already too late! I went for the chicken doner kebab — a delicious wrap with chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, special house sauce and seasoning. And boy, do they stuff your wrap! You can also order the kebab as a salad with a side of rice — I think I’ll have to try that option next time. Cash & credit cards accepted!

I had been going to Pike for years before I found Turkish Delight. Strangely enough, I was on the hunt for baklava a couple of years ago(which is kind of my thing) and I stumbled across it. They make standard walnut baklava here. It’s sticky, sweet and a cavity waiting to happen but very good. Now, I can get walnut baklava lots of places. I come here for pistachio baklava. Now, there’s something special! It’s pretty much the way it sounds — baklava with pistachio filling and on top. That nutty flavor adds something just a little bit different to the experience. I’ve also had occasion to try the lentil soup here. When I taste it, I am transported to place that is warm, comforting, and inviting. Very flavorful, cooked to perfection, and perfect for a fall day. There’s a nice young woman that I see about 50% of the time I’m there. The other times, I’m faced with another woman that makes me feel like I’m 8 years old. The last time we spoke, I was looking for pistachio baklava and she tried to hard sell me on the walnut baklava(which I’ve told her I had). I’m not going to pay for something I don’t want to eat, which is exactly what was going on. The conversation lasted a good deal longer than I would have liked and although I sensed a lot of pride in her products, it came off as judgmental about my food choices. I’ll continue going back for the aforementioned pistachio baklava and I would love a better customer experience.
