Two Union Square

This huge building with the huge USA flag on top is worth 2 Stars for not falling down, but that’s it. It is out of scale with the surrounding skyline, the plaza at the bottom is inhospitable to pedestrians, and it looks like a gaudy Las Vegas hotel. I’m guessing it is inspired by a yacht or some Nautica clothing advertisement. A yacht can be elegant, but a 700ft building meant to look like a yacht is tacky.
It is a shame Two Union Square and some of the biggest characters in the Seattle skyline look better suited for Houston, Miami or a freeway office park in the suburbs. Seattle is a progressive city… it should have more progressive architecture! But as far as amenities are concerned, this building does border Freeway Park, which is a fantastic place to take breaks and lunches, so as much as I detest this building’s dominance of the east-​facing skyline of Seattle… I would probably enjoy working there.

I worked here for a few years and was incredibly impressed with the staff top to bottom. The facilities are the nicest I’ve seen in downtown and the staff was always great to talk to and very helpful.

I work nearby and Two Union Square is a great building for a change of scenery to eat lunch at – whether outdoors in the summer or indoors in the winter. There are some quick food options inside throughout the building although not the cheapest nor the best, and a Starbucks and a Tully’s (there is a piano player in the lobby!). The outdoor area at Two Union Square is amazing in the summer for concerts.
