Fantastic garden/​plant store! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We came with a bit of an idea on what we wanted to do in our front yard and some photos. She listened then helped explain what plants would fit our criteria and even helped pick them out and develop a plan for the planting. Can’t wait to support this local small business again for our backyard.

Super sweet nursery. They have a good indoor section too with air-​plants and plant accessories. The staff is kind and knowledgable!

Susan is wonderful to work with. She obviously knows her stuff, but what I really appreciate is her ability to help you find that perfect something even if you’re not exactly sure what you want.
The quality is also fantastic. There’s definitely a difference compared to the big box stores! Last year, I bought two outdoor plants at Home Depot and shortly after, a third one from Urban Earth. The Home Depot plants have long since died and my UE plant still has amazing color and is growing beautifully.
Oh, and check out during the holidays. Lovely seasonal options.

Friendly and helpful Susan. There isn’t much collection for indoor plants, but there are plenty variations of outdoor plants. Love this place.

Every time I’ve been into Urban Earth I have had my questions answered and gone away with much more knowledge. I appreciate the extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere at this locally owned nursery.

What a wonderful, owner run small nursery specializing in perennials, grasses, trees and herbs carefully chosen for the Seattle climate with a particular emphasis on small, urban gardens. The owner Susan is very knowledgeable and wonderfully helpful and warm. Not the place to go for annual bedding plants but for exceptional advice and great long lived plants, it’s perfect!

I just moved here, and live about 2.5 miles from the store. I decided to get some exercise and walk over there. I got there with a list of house plants and herbs that I was looking for, and she had all of them. (Basil, parsley, chives, lavender, a croton, and jasmine)
She showed me some cute and really inexpensive pots made of corn husks (thus biodegradable). They were very light, so wouldn’t be a hindrance on the walk home.
She told me how often to water them and how much light they needed, and told me to come back when I didn’t have so much stuff to carry to get some soil!

Susan was very helpful when I brought in a mystery cutting, even looking up how I could propogate it myself, as she didn’t have it in stock. I then purchased a beautiful pine tree at a good price from her. When I shared my landscape plan, she gave me great advise to help the tree root succesfully also. This is a very sweet little nursery, and I will be back.

Great space, wonderful people and after a fairly short visit to see what they had, I know I’ll be back with my list of plants. They were able to quickly point me in the right direction and then left me to browse and noodle on my options. They followed up after some time passed to answer more questions that I had. It was the type of help I appreciate!

I went to Urban Earth a couple weeks ago to get my planters in order for the spring. I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to gardening, but Susan was awesome and spent quite a bit of time with me understanding the space I have, light, etc and guiding me through a bunch of decisions. She was very patient and seems to really enjoy sharing her passion with newbies. My flowers look fantastic, and I haven’t killed anything yet. :-)

Lots of plants, lots of choices, some interesting and unusual choices for small spaces, as well as larger trees and shrubs. I never know what I’ll find and always come away with at least one plant I didn’t know I needed until I started shopping!
Susan, the owner, is so helpful and really knows her plants! She some interesting garden art by local artists — personally, I’d like to find a way to incorporate the sheep into my veggie beds!
This nursery is a little gem in Fremont, a little off the beaten track but well worth finding.

Urban Earth is a real gem in the Fremont neighborhood. The owner, Susan, has transformed this small space into a top-​flight nursery. She stocks a wide variety of plants, including some interesting and unusual plants. The layout makes sense and the plants are lush and robust. On a recent visit, I picked up a number of my usual staples along with two new vines I was not familiar with, and for which Susan provided great advice (Ecremocarpus Scarlet ‘Chilean Glory Vine’ and Kadsura ‘Chirifu’). You fill find a great selection of small bushes and trees that are appropriate for smaller, urban gardens. Yes, the prices are higher than Fred Meyer, but you are getting a great selection, expert advice, super-​healthy plants, and an altogether more fun shopping experience. The fact that you are supporting a small, local business is just an added bonus.

First I just love Susan, the owner, she is always happy and loves to talk about plants. I am a gardener who loves dirt and can kill any plant that comes near me, it’s a sad thing, but Susan has really helped me to pick plants that match my level of skill and they have amazingly not only stayed alive, but thrived. Urban Earth has a great variety of plants, but a real focus on what will work well in our rain drenched and sun deprived Seattle gardens. Much cheeper than other, bigger nurseries around. I find myself popping in just to look at what’s in season!

It is always a pleasure to discover a business conducted by someone who loves what she does and who loves people — and that is what we have here. I had the pleasure of meeting Susan because I was looking for a new source for the traditional metal Valentine’s heart which I give my wife every year. These hearts are made by Rosebar Metal Garden Art, up near Conway, and Susan carries them as well as a nice selection of their beautiful trellisses.

Very friendly nursery where they have the knowledge to help you decide what you need. We came in and found some good plants for my wife on Mothers Day. The place is a little small but that is just fine by me. I get overwhelmed by the big nurseries. I walked out with 3 plants that I can’t get at Lowes but we got them at reasonable prices.

Their stuff is cool.
It is unclear when they are open. Unreturned voicemails is annoying.
Their plants are beautiful. The location is a lovely place in a tricky hard to find area. BUT! the bonus is that it’s not in an industrial area or a major Mall! KUDOS

Tucked into Fremont practically in the shadow of the Aurora Bridge, Seasons Nursery and Gifts is definitely a local business. They have some wonderful plants out on display in their long, skinny outdoor garden, as well as many seeds and tools (and some typical ‘garden shop curios’) in the main shop. They specialize in locally-​produced garden pottery decorations, as well as unusual (dwarf, drought-​tolerant and so on) plants.
My mother and my aunt are both avid gardeners, and very much love not only browsing the store but chatting with the owner; she’s a source of cheerful information and advice as well as plants.
They’re also dog-​friendly; I don’t really garden right now, not having the space for it, but my corgi Claire is a frequent visitor to Seasons. She loves to sit outside the shop door and smell all the plants. (Admittedly, her fondness for the shop may also be in part that she knows that the owner keeps doggy treats behind the counter!)
The only real downside to this wonderful little nursery is that they’re, well, very little. Their selection is very good for the size, but you may nonetheless find yourself having to seek other places if you’re looking for something they don’t have.
But if you’re out for a walk in the Fremont area, it’s worth stopping in… especially in the spring and summer, when the little yard can turn quite amazing.
