I am a resident of Ballard, though not in the immediate neighborhood of the proposed Urban Rest Stop on 57th St. The concept of Urban Rest Stop seems a good one, and I’m not sure why a group of Ballard residents oppose it. I support it!

The Urban Rest Stop has been a great resource for me. I will miss these guys after I move into a home. That’s a rare thing to say about homeless services.

You’ve got to wonder about a place that has shower curtains with bright yellow ducks on them hanging in their windows. Turns out that the Urban Rest Stop provides laundry & shower facilities to those without a permanent home, which helps people clean up prior to job interviews and maintain employment.
Their mission statement: «The Urban Rest Stop provides a clean, safe and welcoming facility where individuals and families can come and use restrooms, shower and laundry facilities. All services are provided at no cost to patrons.»
