Village AutoCare & Tires

This place is awesome! My car gets beat to hell at work, and anytime I have an issue I come here. I enjoy talking to Ken and Sebastian as they explain everything and break the lingo down for me. They are very quick and great at what they do! I have always hated to bring my car to the shop until I found village auto care. They will take very good care of you! !

This place is amazing! I was driving to work when a metal piece on the underside of my car started dragging. I had a full day of clients and no spare time for an unplanned auto repair. When I called Village Auto and explained the situation and that my clinic was 4 minutes away, they offered to pick up my car, take it back to the shop for repairs and return the car to my office. Talk about going above and beyond for a new customer. Turns out our car dealer forgot to properly secure a pan under the car after an oil change. The whole process took about an hour and only cost $ 40 for parts and labor. They even refused the tip I offered for the pick-​up/​drop off service which they don’t typically offer. We will return to them for future service and will recommend them to others.

Ken was so fantastic! He was honest, polite, prompt, and has a great staff. I will only go to him in the future, and will recommend them to anyone needing auto care.

Ken is the sweetest person ever. I have taken my car for tire pressures and scratches and he mastered it! The helper is also a great person. I have never written a review but this time I had to due to their best service! I really recommend this place. I am sure you will love it too.

I got a flat. They did not have that type of tire there, which I understand as it is not a very common tire. Instead of blowing me off, Ken sent me to Les S. down the road. He offered to fill my tire with air and when he saw it was not taking, he changed my spare for me right there and did not charge me.
I left impressed and grateful. I will use them when I am in that area.

Once again I am reminded why I chose Ken and his team as my shop for all things automotive. Recently I needed 4 new tires. The tires didn’t seat properly and it was 15 minutes to closing time. Ken immediately called Enterprise who brought a rental car to me. Of course Village Auto Covered the cost. I drove back the next day, my car was ready. Village Auto Care rocks! Betsy Norton

Beware! I used to go to this shop a long time ago, when another man owned it and the prices were reasonable. Not so sure now.
Ken, who is very nice, was there when I called and then dropped off my car. The window would not roll up. He told me right away it could cost around $ 500. I asked if he could just pull it up so it was closed and he said it would be around $ 100. After a few hours, he calls to say that it will cost $ 800 to fix. My husband found the motor needed at the auto parts store, right next to the shop, for $ 120. Ken said it was $ 299, and then another almost $ 200 for another part that was less expensive at the auto parts. He also said he could not raise the window. My husband took it and is getting the window raised at an auto glass shop as I am writing this.
I really think $ 800 is far to much for that repair. I am sad to say that I feel like he was inflating the price and hoping we would just let him fix it at $ 800 for the convenience of it already being in his garage. We won’t be going back. Sorry Ken!

Way over priced. My quote was $ 800. I went to another shop and the quote was $ 225.68. Mmmm.

I went in with a fluke of a problem with my car, my radio wouldn’t turn off! I stopped by without an appointment, and were very kind and got me in right away.
Ken greeted me with a wonderful smile and great service.
Then Chris not only fixed the issue, but because it was a simple issue, didn’t even charge me. He showed me exactly what to do if it ever happened again, not only that but he drew me a picture! FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!
I felt very welcomed and in great hands, these guys are great! They will definitely be getting my business again! I recommend them 100%, thanks again guys!

This is now my go — to mechanic.
It feels as if it is hard to find an honest good mechanic these days, but finally I’ve found one.
These guys are absolutely fantastic.
Ken is the kindest and most personable person I’ve ever dealt with. His customer service is top notch.
Chris –hands down– best mechanic ever. He’s one of the few people I actually trust working on my vehicles. He is obviously incredibly knowledge and is not afraid to show you what he knows — which I appreciate-​.
I moved up to Washington back in 2011, I had been looking for a mechanic that I can trust, but I kept moving around from place to place unable to find a good one like Village AutoCare.
I’m so happy I found this place.
Their team is grade A+ fantastic.

Ken takes care of our cars! Good service, fair price, and a smile!

Ken is a honest businessman and a total sweetheart of a guy, and always treated me like I was the most important customer in the world. The friendly service here cannot be beaten by any place, anywhere. No shenanigans, no expensive unnecessary up-​sells. He explains everything in plain English and seems eager to ensure you understand the problems your vehicle is having and the process it will take to fix it. He also seemed to be omnipresent at the shop; it was nice to always speak with the same person every time I called (even on Saturdays!)
I brought my car here for some overheating problems only to discover that the damage to the engine block was so bad, the whole thing had to be replaced. The repairs took longer and were more expensive than I expected, but this was not the fault of the shop, being that the entire engine ultimately had to be replaced and budgeting was an issue. Five stars because of the outstanding customer service and communication.
Engine replacement was about 1 month ago as of this posting. I have since relocated to Oregon and my little car has chugged along through a long-​distance move in bitter cold and many long journeys with absolutely no problems.
Highly recommended!

There aren’t enough superlatives to describe how wonderful these men are. I am a single mother with two children and a modest income, and they have had my back since the moment I walked into their shop. They take care of me and my car with skill, wisdom, and compassion. Their prices are wonderful — often less than they quote me! If you have had any trouble with mechanics in the past, these gentlemen are the solution! They have my complete loyalty.

So my story: I went to see these guys because my right front brake had been shuttering and screeching for a while. I had let a rock that was stuck in it stay there for way too long. The guys at Les Schwab said it wasn’t a big deal and that as long as the sound didn’t bother me there was no need to replace it yet.
I drove it for about another month and it went downhill fast. I didn’t want to go back to them because I felt like that diagnosis wasn’t correct. I knew it was bad and was expecting to pay around $ 500 for the repair. So I called Village AutoCare around 5pm the day before and Ken got me in first thing in the morning and within 2 hours the parts were ordered, arrived and installed.
They also did a complimentary inspection of the rest of my car and since I plan on selling it soon they advised me against spending money on any of the additional services recommended as I wouldn’t get my money back from investing it when selling it.
They are extremely genuine and nice people. Honest and hardworking car mechanics. Thanks Ken, Chris, and Ken for all your help. I will be back again and will be referring you guys regularly.

Our 2000 Acura has 218,000 miles and was really starting to show its age — and by «show its age» I really mean «totally die in random parking lots.» Thanks to Ken and his crew, we’re back up and running again with no trouble — which is good, because our other car is a 1999 Volvo and who knows when that’s going to go!
We were worried about putting any repair money into a car with that many miles, but before the repair (new alternator and ignition switch) Ken assured us that the Village AutoCare inspection showed our beloved TL is in great shape for a 14-​year-​old car — and that with these relatively minor fixes, we are likely to be in good shape for many miles to come.
All in all, just an excellent experience. My brother-​in-​law is a mechanic in Portland, but I can’t always get down there when we need work done. It’s great to have a trusted shop in Seattle now, too.

I’ve been here about four or five times because I work at University Village, so it’s convenient to just bring my car here while I’m working. Ken is really nice, and informative about what’s wrong with my car. This place charges more on labor costs and car parts compared to other places, but the customer service here is great. They are also really quick with their services.

Ladies: beware! Make sure you get quotes elsewhere if you must go here, because he WILL try to rip you off!
I knew I needed my brakes done so I thought I would give this place a try, since I live close and they give a UW student discount. I got a call an hour later.
The total quote was over $ 3,000.
I knew that was WAY off (he said I needed new tires, that mine were unsafe and completely worn out. Um, not true. I had all four replaced less than a year ago, and they were still under warrantee. When I told him that, he let it go pretty quickly, but obviously he is not honest!).
I politely declined all services and said I would pick my car up later that day, and he paused then asked, «Uh, well, is there someone else I should be talking to about this?‘
NO thanks! You dont need to talk to my dad or my husband. I paid for the car myself and will be paying for all the repairs! Thanks for the super sexist and condescending remarks, though.
I had my brakes done elsewhere. The total for parts and labor was $ 350.
To top it off, I have sent direct emails TWICE asking to be removed from their mailing lists, and I continue to get my inbox filled up with spam from them.

I brought my car here to change the oil. I was able to find a coupon online so it was a reasonable price. I suppose the oil change was done fine, but I left my car there and they told me it would take an hour. I went grocery shopping, timing it such that I would be done (and loaded down with groceries) when my car would be ready. 55 minutes after dropping off my car, I got a call saying that actually the mechanics had been out on lunch and they were just starting so my car would be ready in another half hour. Why was this not known when I dropped my car off? Or sometime before the hour was pretty much up? Frustrating.
Then, when I finally got my car back, it came with warning that I needed to change two of my tires immediately. I was also given a quote for this that was absurdly expensive. Since this news surprised me, I went for a second opinion and was told to change my tires in the next year or two, but not urgently, and given another quote that was at least $ 100 less for name brand tires. No one likes paying for car work and no one likes being told you need to pay tons more, especially when that’s not true. I won’t be taking my car back here.
