History

Established in 1980.

Village Green has been here a long time! I’m not exactly sure when it started, however I’ve had many visitors who remember it being an orchard/farm of some sort it the 50’s.

I purchased the Nursery in 2003 from Teresa Romedo. Teresa had been here for 25yrs, growing many perennials and old roses. With her desire to have Village Green continue on as a Nursery, she held off Developers for 3 years, waiting for a gardener who had the same enthusiasm to take over.

I have kept many of the original specimen trees, shrubs and roses, making some needed changes over time. The Original Retail Shed still stands and is being supported by her Grandmother’s FRAGRANT Honeysuckle.

I’ve added a few outbuildings, one being a Blacksmith studio. We have chickens and honeybees. I have also chosen to home school my children here.

I’ve been told that this is the closest to Orcas Island living that can be found in the city.

We truly love being in this community and feel very welcomed and supported.
