Hair strands still present — n not a smooth clean feel — I can feel it — so maybe better waxing technique — I know that the hair was def long enough to be waxed so that wasn’t the issue — ileah seems pretty friendly tho.

I really wanted to like this place because it was so cheap! I’m used to paying $ 70 for a Brazilian but here it was only $ 50 and $ 40 for repeat customers. (Apologies now for using «they» but I forgot the name of the lady who works there) I also liked how fast they were and didn’t waste time leaving to wait for me to take off my pants since they were going to see everything anyway. The conversation was also good and a nice distraction from the pain.
The reason why I’m not going to return is because I got tons of ingrown hairs. I am not absolutely sure there’s a direct correlation with the waxing I got here but I definitely didn’t have problems with ingrown hair at the last place I went to get waxed. Some of the other reviews mentioned this too. I’m paranoid enough not to go back.

I just moved from out of state and needed to find a good place.
they use soft wax which hurts more, but they do it so quick it doesn’t seem to matter what kind of wax they use. also soft wax gets more hairs than hard wax, so that’s nice.
I came home with no excess wax stuck to me (and ready to surprise me when I took off my pants) and there were absolutely no hairs in sight!
most clean and efficient wax I’ve ever had, and it was a great price, so I booked my next one with them right after that first session.

I just got home from my Brazilian with Ileah and am now convinced I have found the perfect wax artist! I thought for sure she must have missed some as it was the least painful Brazilian I’ve ever had, but nope! Not a stray hair in sight. She was funny (laughing releases endorphins apparently), professional, quick, and the rates are completely affordable. I’d highly recommend this place and Ileah in general. Thank you Waxing Moon!!!

Just an update, I went back after 5 weeks and Ileah is still the
. Quick, virtually painless especially in comparison to all my waxes in NYC. Seriously, never had this efficient and friendly of an esthetician. Love her beyond words.

Rebekah is amaaazing! I came here once last year when I was in town and was really happy with my experience. This year, I decided to come back before I left town again and man am I happy I did. This was my first time meeting Rebekah. She’s super friendly and keeps you busy with conversation during the wax. I hadn’t had a Brazilian done in a while, so it hurt more than it usually did. If it weren’t for how friendly and interesting Rebekah is though, I would’ve notised it a lot more! One of the quicker waxes I’ve had. I’m definitely coming back here whenever I’m Seattle. A bonus is that it’s super affordable compared to any other place that I’ve been to.

I’ve gone to Gina for my Brazilian a few times now, and I will definitely continue to be a regular. Yeah, the front door can be hard to find, but only if you don’t pay any attention whatsoever to the clear instructions they send you via email after booking your appointment. They have a really cute space that feels very private and personal. Easy, quick, affordable, and Gina does a great job. Can’t complain :)

Waxing Moon may be a little hard to find the first time but it’s worth it (just pay attention to the address and remember you have to get buzzed in and go up the stairs.) But it is in a convenient location with street parking usually available in the area and also it’s right off many bus routes. The service is friendly, quick and efficient and a very good value.

Ileah & Waxing Moon Spa is the BEST place I have ever gone to get waxed. I was never comfortable going anywhere to get a brazilian in the past and have consistently been going to see Ileah for almost 3 years now and will never go anywhere else. I cannot give this place enough praise, seriously — go here! The best prices too! Love her!

I’ve been a somewhat regular client of High Maintenance Skincare on Capitol Hill for years. I recently decided to give Waxing Moon a try because it’s cheaper ($ 50 versus $ 65 for a Brazilian) and closer to my house. Haha, you can certainly see where the extra money goes.
When I arrived, I tried dialing their buzzer multiple times and no one answered, but I was able to slip into the building in while a guy was exiting a different suite. There was no one in the waiting room, so I filled out their form and waited for the aesthetician to come out. When I met her, she was a different person filling in for the aesthetician I had made an appointment with on the website.
She turned over the room in about 15 seconds. As others have mentioned, the trash was visibly full of previous business. I’m used to the calm, spa-​like setting of High Maintenance, and this felt more like an assembly line. The service was speedy and the no-​nonsense attitude bordered on gruffness; it was over in less than 10 minutes. There was no tweezing of stray hairs.
According to Waxing Moon, their «main objective is to provide quick. clean and affordable services while using quality products in a down to earth comfortable setting.» Well, it’s definitely fast, and it’s easy to book with zero notice, and I guess the setting is down to earth in that they decorated it without attempting to conceal the nail holes left by the previous tenants. But for me, all of that doesn’t exactly add up to «comfortable.» I probably won’t be back.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some tweezing to do.

I am totally impressed and very happy with the service I just received. I have a trip coming up and of course I totally spaced planning a wax appt, did a little research and saw Waxing Moon reviews. I was able to book right online and able to get in day of. The location was really close to my bus stop as well. There isn’t a parking lot just street parking if you drive. Gina did my wax and she did a great job, super fast and very little pain. I am extremely happy I even rebooked because they have a 10% off deal for rebooking for your next appt, and I really want to get on a proper waxing cycle. I can’t wait to go back, great place!

I’v recently moved here and have been looking for a place to handle my mustache, this thing had to go! I looked on Unilocal for a bit looking for a well rated place, and found this spa. I had pretty average expectations of it, as long as all the hair is gone for around $ 10, then I am happy really.
After I figured out the directions for this place, I entered into a really shabby «waiting room» there was no one at the desk and I stood there awkwardly for around 10 minutes before who I was assuming the woman who was working came out. She did not address me or even look at me. The person who was getting waxed came out, paid, and left, still no recognition from the woman working. Finally I said hello… and she said one minute. Whatever, I just need the hair gone I don’t need a hug. Anyways, she brought me into the room, that looked like someones basement salon. sheet on the very hair table and a sheet covered chair. Also horrible lighting, which may be why I had this experience. Again, I just need the lady stash to go away, so I can look past it.
She took like 1.5 minutes to wax it, and I thought dang she is good! Came home and there was a bunch of random hairs all over the place, spots totally missed. I pay someone to wax me so its done well, otherwise I would do it.
Totally disappointed and I won’t go back, I need it done right and hairless. thats the point.

I recently moved to the area and turned to Unilocal to help me find a good waxing spa. Waxing Moon came highly recommended and I scheduled an appointment for several services.
I booked online which was fast and convenient.
You have to pay for street parking.
As I was driving to the appointment I received a call from the girl saying she was running late which was absolutely not a problem with me because it was morning and I was not in a rush.
She was heating up her wax as I came in. The girl was very chatty and friendly. She told me to drop ‘em an hop on the table. The waxing was a lot more painful than I experienced before with no pressure added to areas after each tear. We talked about how I had a strip undone at another spa I had used and that it was important to get a good wax all over my legs.
The redness or pain afterwards was minimal and I was happy until that evening when I was getting ready to shower. My hair is fair and not too visible but when the light hit it right, I saw a long strip of hair left on the side of my thigh. Aaargg not again!!!
Whatever, I thought, no big deal it’s minor. However when not even 5 days later all my hair began to grow back I realize that most of my hair follicles were broken and not removed at the root. I was soooo bummed since I spent over $ 120 on combined services before tip. Maybe it was the wax that wasn’t hot enough… I don’t know.
I will not return and I would not recommend this place.
The girl did try to make the session as pleasant and comfortable as she could but the service was extremely unsatisfactory in my experience.

I got a Brazilian wax here today and it was great! I had my appointment with Ileah and she was nice and chatty — wasn’t awkward at all. It was probably the fastest brazillian I’ve had in my life — only took about 15 minutes. Normally I feel like they’re more around 30 – 45 minutes.

Last month, I wanted to get back into brazilians and after having my second one done yesterday, here are my thoughts on Waxing Moon Spa…
1) Booking your appointment online can be a bit tricky due to creating a profile (?), but nonetheless I did it and booked just fine. After reading reviews online, I wanted to see Rebekah but she wasn’t on the booking schedule for the time I needed. I reached out and emailed Waxing Moon Spa and Rebekah kindly got back to me advising me to book with Ileah as she would be out of town for Christmas.
2) After booking, I received too many emails that were overkill. One to confirm my registration, a reminder of the appoint, another reminder of the appointment the day before and a terse cancellation warning email. Bookings online are set every 15 minutes, which is hard for even the best waxer to accommodate for anything beyond brows/​lip/​chin!
3) My appointment was at night and it was pouring and dark out. The front entry door was hard to locate and navigate amidst the detailed location instructions. Once I found Waxing Moon Spa, I rushed to get in as they stressed folks needed to be on time, only to let myself in with no one visible at the counter and waited about 10 minutes while another service was being performed. Limited décor and the ambiance is super basic.
4) When Ileah came, she brought me into the room and waited inside as I undressed and propped myself onto the table. I wish I could have had a moment to relax and get myself together in privacy. As this was my first brazilian in a very long time, she treated me to a candy cane to alleviate the pain, which was super nice! Conversation was pleasant and she was extremely detailed. She waxed me very thoroughly and plucked all missing hairs that were missed. The day after my service, I got an email from Waxing Moon Spa thanking me for my service and inquired if anything could have made the experience better.
Recommendations: As communicated in my reply back after my service, to make a more relaxing service, appointments should be made less frequently so customers don’t feel rushed and others aren’t waiting, especially given the warning «if you’re late email.» The booking site should be more streamlined with only one confirmation appointment to remind the customer. The cancellation email was curt and should be stated in a more customer-​centric way.
Overall: For $ 50, the end result was great and my service lasted!

So fast, efficient, and as (relatively) painless as a Brazilian wax can be. The entire process was professional, thorough, and not at all awkward. I actually laughed during my service, can you believe that? This is also probably one of the more affordable waxing spas in town. $ 50 for a Brazilian and they offer a 4 waxes for $ 160 deal so you can maintain your smoothness for a discount!
The space is small and a bit spare, just a waiting area and the waxing room through another door (the soft sky blue ceiling is peaceful to look at during your wax). All they do is waxes here so you know they are committed to giving you a great service.
Waxing Moon is located above The Sweatbox next to Moe Bar and you definitely wouldn’t saunter in if you didn’t already know it was there. You must make a reservation and can easily do so online and you’ll be emailed detailed information on how to access the building and navigate to the spa. Thank you for existing!

I don’t normally write reviews but l couldn’t even wait to get on here and rant about Waxing Moon spa. Not only am l at lost of words of how amazing this place is. I have to say Rebekkah is heaven sent. This is the second place l have been too but the only place l have had a real brazilian and honestly the most peaceful process doing so. Rebekkah is efficient, very open. The whole awkwardness is Over the moment you know your in great hands. I in particular have anxiety laying in this position and someone in between your legs only because of my cultural up brining. Rebekkah hands down made me feel safe. I walked in curios and walked out extremely happy! The service is a 5star! Thank you so much. I will be back!
Oh also. She’s very clean and extremely gentle, she doesn’t miss a thing.

Love the online booking, ease of finding the place (the instructions they give you via email are VERY clear, as otherwise it might be a little confusing without a standard storefront).
Very efficient and FAST waxing. I only took off a star because they were obviously redecorating and it was very cluttered when you entered (not relaxing) and I was there during a summer heat wave and their AC just couldn’t keep up. I’m sure now, it’s fine, and their AC is probably up to the task the rest of the year!
I will certainly be back.
== EDIT == I went back for a maintenance Brazilian… and was rather disappointed, as there was a high amount of breakage and therefore, fast regrowth. We had to hurry as the appointment length for maintenance is only 15 minutes, and I think if you have enough time, waxing moon does great. But if you’ve only got 15 minutes and something goes wrong with your hair, or the wax temperature, or anything… there’s just no good way to fix it. I got frustrated with the quality of the wax job, and two weeks later went to Wax On to get everything cleaned up.
